Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
Zfort Group is a full-cycle IT services company focused on the latest technologies. We have 19 years of experience in building innovative and industry-specific products our clients are genuinely proud of.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
We never say “Yes” to every project in our pipeline unless we understand our role and responsibility. So, before diving into coding, we work in close cooperation with our customers to make sure we’re on the same about the future of their product. Our superpower is being efficient in working on enterprise-level projects with complex architecture using cutting-edge technologies. These projects often require unconventional skills and approaches we’ve gathered through 19 years of operation.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
Major industries we serve include Ecommerce, Banking, Logistics, Dating, Healthcare, Insurance, and Charity. Our customers often get back to us with new projects, as well as recommend our services to their business partners and friends. We’re glad to have a network of happy clients ready to provide detailed feedback on our services. For more information, please, check some of our recent case studies.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
Zfort provides Web and mobile software development services. But we also focus on BigData, AI, and BlockChain development as we have specialized teams with the right expertise in these areas.
Which platform do you prefer to use when developing a blockchain application? Why?
We have highly mastered the HyperLedger Fabric stack. After a half-year research, we have chosen IBM’s / Linux Foundation’s HyperLedger as the product, which, according to our prediction, will have the longest life-cycle among other BlockChain products. So, now we focus on Enterprise BlockChain solutions, which also correlate well with our BigData and AI expertise.
Also, we believe that Enterprise BlockChain stacks will be widely adopted for SmartCity software development. Just Google for “Enterprise BlockChain for Smart Cities” to discover more.
What tech stack and tools do your developers use?
We currently use HyperLedger Fabric, Ethereum, EOS, and we are open for other stacks.
Are open-source, decentralized protocols going to be more significant than their web equivalent?
I would rather say that the Internet is decentralized initially by the DARPA’s plan. And, what we see now, is just another unavoidable step in Internet evolution which is pushed forward by the community.
What are scalability and throughput challenges there with blockchain? What solutions would you suggest?
HyperLedger Fabric provides 40K transactions per second, according to its creators. According to our load tests - it is 20K per segment in fact. But this is also huge enough. Other technologies having comparable throughput are Stellar and Lighting. So, if you have a high-load system - you should consider one of those.
Will the success rate of ICOs be better or worse than tech start-ups?
All in our hands. ICOs/ITOs/IEOs/... are just different names of a new investment tool that was created by making the brokerage less centralized and less controlled. There are lots of players in this financial game. The strongest ones will be the winners.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a project?
The most important question is: are we going for a pilot implementation or a fully functional system?
If it’s a pilot project, we recommend to keep the costs to the minimum; if it’s a full-fledged project, we recommend to do it properly. The price goes higher in this case, but so is the platform’s reliability, usability, and extendability for the future.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients?
There has to be a prepayment, and there has to be a part of the payment that is sent only after the project is successfully demoed to the stakeholders. Everything in between is split on a monthly basis.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2018?
We had projects from $25K as the lowest budget up to $600K on the high end.
