What users like the most

  • Very easy to use, with super helpful information icons that explain key definitions well.
  • I've used it for training young SEOs and it has been great!
  • The blog and other resources are honestly unmatched - the team are personal and really seek to help people.

What users like the least

  • It would be great if we could somehow automate parts of the reports, but I don't actually know if this would be a good thing.
  • Data is sometimes not available
  • Some tools are not very useful, for example, the Content Explorer provides a lot of irrelevant content examples

Easy to use and good improvement till now

Overall rating
4.0

As a business owner of Turacomobile, the interface is a bit challenging at first especially if you don't have much experience with how metrics like DR and AR work. There is a learning curve that is involved. But I really liked how I could look at which sites are linking back to me and websites where my competitors are having links. I also like how you can see which keywords your website is ranking for and which ones it has gone down on. My con would be at times, the traffic numbers it estimates and what I see in Google analytics can be vastly different. For example, the top pages that Ahrefs shows aren't necessarily what I see drawing traffic in Google analytics.

Overall though I think it is much more comprehensive for backlink data than Semrush which was the main reason I chose Ahrefs.

Ahrefs is by far the best we have used

Overall rating
5.0

Comparing it to all the other tools I've used to help with digital marking like MOZ, spyfu, SEMRush and Hubspot (this one is not really for the same purpose) I'd say Ahrefs is by far the best. Their index is larger than the competition which gives you more information, and their Domain Rating algorithm seems more predictable than say Moz's.

Ahrefs has a full suite of tools that make link prospecting and competitor information gathering super simple. Everything can be exported into CSV sheets for easy manipulation. Experts at RunRepeat think it's great you can easily compare your site to competitors in the dashboard and dig deep into competitor links at the page level using site explorer. Alerts is also a big pro which helps to automate keyword based prospecting to and extent. All in all, it's fairly easy to learn and super powerful if you're looking to really make some SEO progress.

I'm a huge fan of Ahrefs

Overall rating
5.0

As a blogger focused on search traffic, I'm a huge fan of Ahrefs. I use it every day to optimize current content with the organic keyword data and use the content gap analysis to choose topics for new posts for MapleMoney.com and GetRichSlowly.org. I also rely on the alerts to keep me up to date on mentions and new links. A site audit is a newer feature that could use some improvement, but I have high hopes for it in the future.

Love using AHREFS and this is one of my go-to tools for site analysis

Overall rating
5.0

I love using AHREFS and this is one of my go-to tools for site analysis. Ahrefs is mainly used by PopNet Media LLC. for the service to find what keywords sites are ranking for and then use the backlink analysis tool to see what sites are linking to the site and interior pages. With this info, I can determine if it's worth creating a similar page and getting backlinks to it. Oftentimes I can outrank if the competitors' site isn't really good but is getting good rankings.

Extraordinary value – that drives our marketing firms success

Overall rating
5.0

I am a huge fan of Ahrefs. As an Owner & SEO Specialist of Hook Agency, To be in control of your SEO is not as easy as one would hope – but a company can get very close to this software. Some of the pro's include being able to 'spy on competitors' keywords, look for 'content gap' in comparing two sites, and monitor links to your site – as well as figuring out how many people are searching a particular phrase in a month. Con's are that it's fairly expensive, and if you have multiple clients and want to monitor their progress on your dashboard – once you get past 25 clients on your dashboard, you could pay up to 1k a month. It's definitely premium software, but extraordinarily powerful in what it does.

Best when it comes to analyzing your competitors and find the gaps between your site and your competitors' sites

Overall rating
4.0

Ahrefs is a very robust but at the same time easy-to-use tool. When it comes to tearing your site down in regards to SEO checkup, there is no better option. Also, according to CrazyCall, Ahrefs is the best when it comes to analyzing your competitors and find the gaps between your site and your competitors' sites. What is also handy, are Ahrefs alerts that can help marketers automate their work as you can get ready-to-analyze emails with the content you need. Ahrefs is also great in terms of tracking your content and how well it does in regards to ranking.

Ahrefs is also useful when it comes to content marketing and keyword research. I am aware that other marketing tools might be doing this part of the job better, but Ahrefs is still very useful in regards to doing things like keywords research.

The thing I dislike when it comes to Ahrefs is the inconsistency that sometimes occurs within the backlinks reports. It happens that we get false alerts of erased links when no such thing has happened. Also, it happens that we do not receive all of the alerts that we want. Luckily, there is a live chat that you can use to contact the support and get things resolved quickly. Ahrefs is getting bigger and bigger, bith when it comes to the number of customers as well as their database so it might be the cause of the problem.

Been using Ahrefs for little more than 4 years

Overall rating
5.0

Ahrefs is one of the most powerful tools a big company should have if they are looking to grow through digital marketing. As an SEO Expert of LeoPay, I personally have been using Ahrefs for little more than 4 years.

The biggest pros of Ahrefs is that they are constantly improving their tool. Asking communities of digital experts what can be added, what can be improved and how they see it.

The only con I can think of is that Ahrefs doesn't compromise on price. Meaning, no free trial period for testing, no discount of any sort. However, Ahrefs is well worth its price as long as you are going to put it to good use.

All-in-one solution

Overall rating
4.0

Over the past, I have used several tools similar to Ahrefs. First, I used MajesticSEO and Mangools. However, these tools lacked important features. I had to combine several different tools to do backlinking research, rank tracking, competitors analysis, on-page reports and so on. That’s why I decided to go for an all-in-one solution. Ahrefs seemed to be the most sophisticated SEO tool on the market offering all the features I needed in one system.

Most of these all-in-one solutions tend to be complicated and hard to understand. Fortunately, Ahrefs tools turned out to be plug-and-play, since the dashboard is well-structured and the features are strongly interconnected.

In particular, Ahrefs is the perfect fit for content marketers. Although WebNexus started using the tool mainly for backlinking research, we found out that it performed really well on coming up with good content ideas using the content explorer feature. Especially this tool helped we figured out which articles were successful in our niche and how we could apply similar content strategies to make our pages perform better.

Biggest downside: Just like many other tools, the indicated keyword volume is very inaccurate sometimes. This is the one thing I don’t like about Ahrefs. It provides approximate numbers and that’s why we sometimes make wrong calculations on how profitable a page - optimized for a certain keyword - could be.

Pros: Sophisticated system with tons of features, easy to use, well-structured dashboard, perfect for content marketers.

Cons: Indicated keyword volume is inaccurate sometimes.

Favorite tool for looking at backlinks

Overall rating
5.0

I use this tool on a daily basis to analyze backlinks for both the clients and their competitors of Blue Cherry Online Marketing

AHRefs is my favorite tool for looking at backlinks and in my experience picks up more links than other available tools. It also rates the links based on the quality of the domains linking to them which is really useful. I frequently use this tool to analyze competitor backlinks which is a really good way of finding new backlinks for our clients to use. The only thing that lets this tool down is often it will pick up 'new' links that aren't actually new.
