We listed our product on GoodFirms not so long ago. Still working on collecting user reviews, but even now, we can see that Google shows our listing on the first pages of search results. It’s very good for our SEO.
Please introduce your product and give a brief about your role within the organization.
We develop CS-Cart—an ecommerce platform for creating online stores and marketplaces. At the moment, over 50,000 ecommerce businesses use our software, including 1,400 marketplaces all over the world. Our primary focus is to provide entrepreneurs with a tool that allows them to quickly launch their businesses and then grow rapidly on the same software.

I’m the CEO of the company, I have a deep technical background, and pay lots of attention to making quality products. For me, quality is something that helps our client to achieve success in their business.
What was the objective behind coming up with this software?
The original idea was to build software that allows customers to launch online stores quickly. At that time, it was called shopping cart software. At that moment we were really good at adding a lot of vital features to our product. And now this is still one of our advantages along with others.
How is your software beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other software alternatives available in the market?

First of all, it has a complete set of features to launch an online store or marketplace. In the category of the marketplace on other software product listings site, we are #1 for SMBs. The main idea of our product is launch fast, scale vast, and we have a set of values to achieve it.

 

Launch fast: As mentioned earlier it is a complete set of features (the richest one on the market), the second—our Apps market, which has over 2,000 ready themes and add-ons for our eCommerce platform, and the third is Customer care, which pay a lot of attention to success of our clients’ businesses, and not just technical help.

 

Scale Vast: the main value here is access to source code. Then goes the architecture of the product that can be extended easily using API.

What industries do you generally cater to? Which industries, in general, are highly benefiting by using your software?
We are a B2B company—we’re making software for other businesses. CS-Cart works best for selling physical products online, such as apparel, beauty products, home and garden, electronics, and others. It’s also good for selling digital products such as e-tickets and digital art.
 
We also cater to hotel businesses with our booking software, which is called CS-Cart Booking. This is a platform on which one can create a hotel aggregator or an accommodation booking website.

What are the key features of your software that makes it stand apart from your competitor products in the market?
The key thing here is not features but the feature set. CS-Cart ships with over 500 eCommerce features out of the box. Our competitor products only have a part of these features we have. If you go to user reviews platforms such as SourceForge, G2, or Capterra, you’ll see what people say about the functionality of CS-Cart—that it has the richest set of functions out of the box. This is one of the advantages that help to start fast—you don’t need to develop anything to get started.
What is the customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
One of our crucial goals of all times is to help our clients enhance and grow their businesses. We are actively working on it right now. For example, lately, we have introduced an onboarding audit for our clients: within this service, we examine our client’s marketplace, evaluate how easy (or difficult) it is for sellers and buyers to use their marketplace, and give advice on how to fix bottlenecks. We also improve the no-code capabilities of our products—for example, we are about to release a no-code configurator for a seller dashboard.
Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what is the percentage of repeat customers that you have?
I'm unable to disclose that information.
Does your software product provide any resource or knowledge section for its users? If yes, what kind of material is provided to your users to help them get acquainted with your product?
Yes, user education is one of our focus points. We have detailed documentation for users and developers. The documentation contains detailed instructions on how to set up functions and processes in an online store and marketplace. Our YouTube channel also have video guides on the most crucial functionality.

But the coolest educational thing that we have is integrated right into the product. It is called the Help Section. This section is available on the most important pages in the admin panel of a client’s online store and contains up-to-date documentation and guides on this section of the store.

Besides teaching how to use our platform, we teach people how to start and grow an online marketplace from the business side of things. Anyone can enroll in the CS-Cart’s Marketplace Academy and start learning for free.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
We offer customer care service included with the product license. Once the free customer service period is over, a client can subscribe to it again. Customer service includes an unlimited number of requests through a ticket system and online chat, updated services, web server configuration, minor code modifications, a dedicated engineer, and more. The key thing of our customer care service is not technical support really—we pay a lot of attention to the client’s success: we look for solutions, offer best practices, and so on.

Where do you see your product in the next 10 years?
I see CS-Cart is an eCommerce platform that helps hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs start their own businesses fast, grow, and adapt to any changes in the industry.
