Please introduce your product and give a brief about your role within the organization.
Patriot provides online accounting software and payroll to American businesses and their accountants.

As Patriot’s Chief Executive Officer, I like to call myself the chief mistake-maker because I’m always willing to take risks and make mistakes in our mission to make accounting and payroll fast, simple, and affordable for millions of American businesses and their accountants.
What was the objective behind coming up with this software?
Accounting and payroll aren’t the most glamorous business tasks, but they’re arguably some of the most important. Unfortunately, accounting and payroll tasks are pretty confusing, especially to business owners who have countless other responsibilities.

Having been an entrepreneur for over 30 years and starting five successful small businesses, I saw first-hand how difficult accounting and payroll were for small businesses to juggle. So, I started Patriot to help other business owners keep their time and money.

Our objective is simple: We want to make accounting and payroll so easy for business owners that they can get in and out of the software in record time—without breaking the bank.
How is your software beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other software alternatives available in the market?
Everything comes back to our mission of making our accounting and payroll software fast, simple, and affordable and making the “non-revenue producing tasks” of accounting and payroll as simple and fast as possible.  We know business owners just don’t have the time and money to waste on bloated accounting and payroll software.

And because I’ve been in the business owner’s shoes, I know accounting and payroll typically aren’t an entrepreneur’s favorite things to do. So, there’s no reason to make accounting and payroll software more complicated and expensive than it needs to be, which is a perspective we share with our customers.
What industries do you generally cater to? Which industries in general are highly benefiting by using your software?
We have tens of thousands of customers across hundreds of industries, so we don’t cater to specific industries. Business owners in hundreds of industries who want to streamline their accounting and payroll would benefit from using Patriot.
What are the key features of your software that make it stand apart from your competitor products in the market?
Unlike most of our competitors, we offer both accounting and payroll software, plus time and attendance and HR software add-ons for payroll, to give users one login with seamless integration. Of course, we also offer integrations with other software, but we’re proud to be able to bring customers this all-in-one suite option, too, and at a more affordable cost.

Another key feature our customers love that sets us apart is our setup wizard, which walks new users through the software setup process and makes for faster onboarding and fewer headaches.

Recently, we received a patent for our accounting software’s ability to track accounting transactions in cash-basis and accrual simultaneously.
What is the customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
We use the Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT), which ranges from 0 - 100, to measure how well we’re meeting (and exceeding!) our customers’ needs. According to our most recent data, we have a CSAT of 90.

We’re thrilled to have such a high customer satisfaction rate, but because we’re never satisfied with the status quo, we’re always looking for ways to get even closer to 100. Some may say a perfect or near-perfect score is “impossible,” but we’ve found that catering to our customers’ needs and requirements boils down to one thing: listening.

We listen to our customers by constantly asking them for direct feedback (because who knows what our customers need better than our customers?!). We also scour the web for reviews to make sure we’re exceeding our customers’ expectations and, if we’re not, quickly move to resolve any concerns. We gather feedback from customers on new features in beta before releasing them to make sure the workflow is streamlined and makes sense.
Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what is the percentage of repeat customers that you have?
Because we’re a software as a service (SaaS) provider, customers continue using our software unless they decide they want to leave, which we give them the freedom and flexibility to do with month-to-month pricing in lieu of long-term contracts. We have a very low attrition rate because we show our customers value, have great customer service, communicate with friendly efficiency, and have customers who become loyal to our brand.
Does your software product provide any resource or knowledge section for its users? If yes, what kind of material is provided to your users to help them get acquainted with your product?
Yes! First and foremost, we offer a robust setup wizard that helps users get started in their accounts. We also have a Help Center for our Accounting and Payroll customers, complete with articles, guides, and training videos. And, we host webinars throughout the year that are quite popular with our customers, where we go over various software topics, show them new features, and answer their questions live.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
We offer free, friendly, and expert USA-based support to our customers via phone, online chat, or email. In fact, we consistently top software review charts for the best customer support!
Where do you see your product in the next 10 years?
We are disrupting the accounting and payroll software industry, so the sky's the limit. In 10 years, we will be the most trusted name for accounting and payroll that serves American businesses and their accountants.
