Please introduce your company and give a brief introduction about your role within the organization.
Goodman Lantern is a full-service content marketing agency that provides top-quality content to our clients to help them grow their businesses and reach their marketing goals, whether it be boosting conversion rates, increasing subscriptions, or building brand awareness.

Our content team consists of native English writers and editors, as well as graphic designers, illustrators, and animators, all with highly sought-after skill sets. Our creatives specialize in B2B content marketing (both inbound and outbound) and are supported by a strong SEO team and experienced brand, marketing, and content strategists. We help our clients establish recognizable brands and create content that influences their audiences, resulting in, for example, increased sales, stronger customer relationships, and greater brand awareness.

To combat the existing economic disparity between men and women, Goodman Lantern is committed to creating more opportunities for women in the technology and marketing sectors. We’ve made it our mission to keep the team predominantly female and to provide more growth and leadership opportunities for women as we grow.

As the founder and CEO, I keep a close eye on our KPIs, operations, strategy, marketing, finance, HR, and sales – and provide guidance where I can – but trust my team to run the day-to-day operations.
What’s the story behind starting this company?
Prior to starting Goodman Lantern, I worked for an organization in Europe, where I joined as the Director of Innovation and eventually became the CEO. The team and I were really good at developing a brand story with consistent, highly focused content writing. And when the business went from £7.5M to £45M (over my five-year tenure), I realized the power of content, especially in the B2B space.

I’m also a firm believer in providing equal opportunities to women who wish to join the tech and marketing industry. Growing up in the Middle East and India, I was exposed to some of the injustices girls face in the school system. Later in life, I noticed systemic inequality also infiltrated the workforce. Women weren’t given equal opportunities. I wanted to use my male privilege to do something about it.

When I founded Goodman Lantern, I made it my personal mission to ensure that the company culture empowers women. For example, a very flexible work model makes it easy for our team members, many of whom are mothers, to earn a good income.
What’s your company’s business model – in-house team or third-party vendors/ outsourcing?
As a fast-growing company, we ensure our clients work with dedicated, in-house staff members.

However, as needed, we also bring in specialist writers, editors, designers, strategists, and subject-matter experts (SMEs) to ensure we create the best possible content that would resonate with our clients (often highly specialized) audiences.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
As a highly-rated content marketing agency, we often work with thought leaders in the market – in fact, many of our clients are pioneers in their sectors. We always try to match our content offering with our client's needs and listen carefully to what they’d like to achieve before we suggest an approach or specific deliverables. Throughout the "discovery" phase, we remain highly flexible, giving our clients a wide range of approaches to choose from.

We also focus on the B2B sector, which makes us specialists in this area, and we're a mission-driven company. As mentioned before, we believe it's our social responsibility to actively strive for gender parity on a global scale, and we're committed to creating consistent, reliable, and fair income opportunities for women. We also prefer to work with clients who are frontrunners in driving DE&I in their companies.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
Our clients are primarily in the B2B sector, and many are thought leaders in industries such as technology, telecommunications, and financial services. While our current clients fall into the sectors below (yes, it's a long list!), we tend to work with clients that offer technology-based products or services.
  • Accounting & Tax.
  • Aerospace & Defense.
  • Agriculture & farming.
  • Artificial intelligence/machine learning.
  • Automotive.
  • Banking, finance & insurance.

Please share some of the services you offer for which clients approach you the most.
Our B2B-focused content marketing services are divided into three categories: strategy, execution (i.e. content creation), and distribution.
The majority of our customers approach us to help with the following services:
  • Content creation for various formats (e.g. articles, social posts, eBooks, whitepapers, newsletters).
  • Content, brand & campaign strategies.
  • Growth SEO services.
  • Graphic design.
  • Video marketing.
  • Content distribution.
  • HubSpot Management.
  • Translation, transcreation & localization.
How satisfied are your customers? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
Based on the Net Promoter Score (NPS), our clients, on average, rate us as ‘Excellent’ (9.75 out of 10). Our scores are high because we go above and beyond to deliver top-quality content and customer service. We achieve this high score thanks to a talented and committed team.
As a company, we’re driven by the following core values, which also help us generate higher customer satisfaction rates:
  • Reliable and committed.
  • Optimistic.
  • Inclusive and respectful.
  • Humble.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
As our customers are busy professionals, we pair them with senior staff members who support them along their content marketing journey.
For example, when a client signs on with Goodman Lantern, we assign them a dedicated editor. So, anyone working with our company has experienced content professionals who can interact, engage, guide, and help them with any questions or concerns they may have.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay Per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
Most of our clients like to partner with us for a while and, as a result, prefer to work on a pay-per-phase fee structure. As content is a long-term strategy, the majority of our clients ultimately form a long-term partnership with us, where we become their dedicated content supplier.
Do you take on projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If not, on what minimum budget have you worked for?
We do have a minimum requirement, but we don’t draw a hard line in the sand. We like to remain flexible and budgets vary greatly depending on the client and their requirements. What I can say is that most of our clients are from developed or emerging markets.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2021?
The price varies based on the requirements and complexity of each project, so it’s hard to provide a price range. We offer a custom price based on the client's needs and requirements.
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
With Goodman Lantern’s continued commitment and investment in supporting and empowering women, we’ve set ourselves an ambitious goal of being recognized globally as the company that employs and engages the most women.
