I’m the CEO & co-founder of Index.dev - where we help leading companies scale their engineering team. Index works with companies like Omio/GoEuro, Vodafone, YC startups, as well as small and medium-sized tech companies. The problem is that hiring engineers in local markets is expensive and competitive. Limited local supply, however plenty on the global level.

What is the story behind starting this company?
The moment of inception for Index was 2019 - I remember that year distinctly because I had to graduate from Oxford. I was living in San Francisco at that time. I’ve already experienced problems with hiring full-time remote engineers for my projects. The process was opaque, painful, and expensive. On one side, the skilled tech talent from the different regions like CEE, CCA, and LATAM couldn’t find the exciting opportunities offered by international start-ups.
In a startup, you need to find the right team to help you make amazing products that your customers will love. Finding the right team is hard. It’s especially hard if you restrict your search to the city your company is based. In New York, London, or Berlin, hiring top tech talent is costly and can take months.
We decided to embark on the journey so that we can contribute to a world of reducing inequality, empower a more distributed, diverse workforce, and create a future in which the brightest local talent wouldn’t have to leave their country for a better future. Remote work means more equal opportunities for all around the world. A more distributed world.
During COVID we managed to grow 9x our revenue and we weren’t able to cope with all the demand generated. We also had customers that hired engineers 2 years ago and are still with us. Our top clients grew 11x, after 1 year with us. This makes us believe that what we are building is in high demand and will be, as leading companies have adopted remote work as one of the solutions.
Now Index strives to help talented people build a career remotely with their human potential, not their geographical location, race, or gender, and companies expand their teams.
We have clients in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and Europe (Germany, Ireland, Sweden) that have already hired developers from Poland, Serbia, Romania, Ukraine, Georgia, Turkey, etc. via our platform to get their projects off the ground.

We also take any project off the ground by screening, vetting, and matching senior QA, Designers, Project Managers, and Software support specialists.
What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
9.5 from 10. We run client satisfaction surveys, and monitor developer-client interactions, assessment, collaboration, and matching satisfaction.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
We do regular (more like monthly) call/catch-up communications regarding current progress and satisfaction regarding Index's talents.
We have a dedicated Account Manager (AE) that is always available to assist with any inquiries or needs the client might have during and after an active engagement.

Pay per hour on a contract basis.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
We don’t have a minimum requirement, but our rates start at 50 USD an hour.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2021?
50-180$/hour.
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
In 10 years, I envision Index being one step closer to becoming the leading marketplace for remote hiring. We work towards helping companies unleash the world’s most valuable resource - untapped global talent.
