As the founder of Komanda, my main responsibility is to shape the company's strategy, collaborate with clients and partners, and lead a team of experts to the main destination – the success of our clients' projects.

What is the story behind starting this company?

Our journey began in 2016 with a humble agency of three people, where I personally assumed the role of a designer. Today, our team has grown to encompass around 20 dedicated individuals. Yet, regardless of our size, we hold close the memory of our humble beginnings—a foundation built on the desire to assist entrepreneurs in realizing their online visions. We recognized the need for technical solutions that harmonize innovation, efficiency, and aesthetics. Hence, we decided to establish a company that fulfills these needs through WordPress solutions.

What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?

We have our in-house team, where each member is a specialist in a specific aspect of web development: from strategic planning to programming, from design to DevOps. When necessary, we bring in the best outside experts for our projects - marketers, copywriters, or illustrators. Because I believe that everyone should focus on what they do best.

How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?

We are all about a strategic approach to development, with a focus on achieving real business results for our clients. Our client partnerships, personalized approach, and the ability to tailor solutions to their needs — are the things that make us unique. We are not just freelancers doing a job, but we are the ones who really dive deep into business processes to offer the most effective solutions.

What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?

We serve a wide range of industries, including services for business, technology, media, advertising, and so on. Nearly 80% of our clients come back to us and ask for new projects, which is good proof of the effectiveness of our services and our dedication to our clients. About 90% of our new clients come to us through recommendations from our current customers and partners.

Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?

Our clients most frequently apply for the development of WordPress websites, involving strategic planning, design, development, and optimization for high performance aligned with their business needs. The second most popular clients’ request is our support and enhancement of the existing websites, where we need to implement the ideas from marketing departments, do the integrations with the external services, or do the monitoring of the site’s performance.

What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?

We do our best to be sure that our clients are satisfied with the results. Our main aim is to exceed their expectations by providing high-quality services and delivering a personalized approach. We listen to their needs, understand their desires, and take them into account in every step of the project’s work. Of course, I am not a storyteller, and I couldn’t tell you that all our projects were successful. However, I truly believe, that all our failures are our opportunities to be better step by step, which is what we continuously do—enhance our level of service and results.

What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?

We provide comprehensive technical support to our clients: from monitoring the site's well-being to the implementation of new features and creating sections. From website content creation to server configurations and implementing SEO recommendations. In general, we handle everything related to the website's technical aspects.

What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)

It could be any of the proposed options. But there's one we and all our clients love - when we work on project tasks and invoice only for those tasks that have been completed, verified, and accepted by the client. In other words, the client pays for results, not the process.

Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?

Yes, we have requirements for the minimum project budget that we find suitable to work with. For projects requiring technical support, it's from 30 hours or $750-900, depending on the tasks. For development from scratch, budgets start from $3000 for corporate websites or online stores. But we always strive to find a cost-effective solution that suits everyone - we know how to optimize the process and find solutions that allow budget reduction without compromising quality.

What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2022?

The minimum budget was $0. We have our volunteer fund, which covers assistance to various non-profit organizations and charities needing improvements on their websites or creating sites from scratch. The maximum was around $20000. By the way, it involved technical support and development for a large technology company's website.

Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?

I aim to expand our capabilities and continue our path of excellence in website development. Our goal is to become recognized leaders in the field of technical partnerships and provide innovative, efficient solutions for our clients' businesses. We plan to expand our expertise, attract talented specialists, and deliver projects that exceed our clients' expectations.
