Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
Mypcot Infotech is an IT service based company founded in 2017, based in Mumbai, India. We specialise mainly with the website and mobile app development along with designing and quality assurance services. We also provide consultancy, Digital Marketing, Brand Building, Support, and Maintenance Services. We have completed over 90 Projects and operates globally including countries like USA, South Africa, UAE, Australia, and Sudan.
Being CEO of the company, I Supervise the activities of HOD's and team, setting the direction for both, the operations as well as the revenue- generating roles. I direct the annual functional strategy of the Organisation ensuring alignment with the goals and the best interests of the members. To enhance profitability and increase revenue from existing and new streams, I work in coordination with the Sales and Business Development Team.

What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We work on a client-driven approach, centring clients requirements, and providing a unique solution in terms of design, scalability, and industry level solution. We have a workforce of 50 employees at the moment and all projects are being developed in-house to ensure the development quality and security.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
Every day you will hear/discover something new which changes your perspective about your business idea, so along with the solution we are keeping a room for customizations to tackle the client's future requirements. A full proof scalable/flexible solution is what helps our clients to gain value in the competitive market.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
We have completed a good number of projects in E-commerce, Education (School/College management), OTT (Video streaming platforms for smart TV), Hotel booking, Travel, restaurant, healthcare, HRMS, Catalogue, and Accounting.
We have a high client retention ratio of 81% who provides us good references which is the fruit of high-quality projects we deliver to our clients.

Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app.
Generally scope is divided into 5 stages which determines the time frame.

• Planning and Designing (Team assigning, application designing, and wireframes prototyping).

How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile app?
Development takes around 3 to 4 months generally but it entirely depends on the no of modules/functionalities in the scope.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?
Platform (Android/iOS) depends on the client's business area and the countries they are willing to expand their business. Let's say the client is targeting a market, where 95 % of the population uses android, around 5 % iOS, so client is advised to initially go with android, and later as per market analysis they can go with iOS. But if they are targeting a country with a good percentage of mixed platform users, we suggest they go for both.
Which platform do you suggest your clients to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?
We always suggest our clients to go with both Android and iOS platforms as each customer adds value to the business but in the end it is client's call based on their market analysis, budget, and country.
Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?
As Explained before, there are multiple criteria to decide a platform between Android and iOS but we suggest them to go with both.
If a client wants to go with only android or only iOS, we suggest they choose the Native platform as native applications are more scalable and cost will be the almost same for both - Android native platform and hybrid. But if the client wants the app on both platforms and is looking for a cost-effective solution, in that case, we suggest them hybrid which reduces the development cost, time, maintenance, and support cost but it comes with its own set of limitations. Not everything is possible with a hybrid framework and neither it is as scalable as native. If clients want on both with optimal solution and scalability, where budget and timelines are not constraints then we suggest they should go with native developments.

What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?
Based on the DRG (detail requirement analysis), we decide the man-hours effort required in Designing, Development of front end and backend business logic, Testing and Deployment which all sums up to the final cost. The platform and technology on which the application is developed play a vital role in deciding the cost and timelines for the project.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We take a 25 % advance payment and after that we mostly divide the payment into 3 milestones.

Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
We do not take projects less than 2000$.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2019?
Minimum 3000$ and maximum 35000$.
Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?
We suggest freemium which involves giving basic functionality for free and charging for advance or subscription basis with low cost to build a customer base or providing gifts, coupons, cash backs, etc. to attract customers, but most of the clients which we have encountered came with a solid idea, in and out of market analysis and they knew how/when to take the step further.
