Seamless communication and transparency with Rocketak resulted in achieving our desired MVP goals effectively.

Working with Rocketak was a positive experience. Their team helped build the initial screens of our map-based app, integrating complex features with Google Maps and providing a full development team including mobile developers, full-stack developers, QA engineers, and business analysts. They ensured we could create accounts, view maps with stop-friendly places, add new places, chat with other users, and manage a marketplace for exclusive offers. The communication was excellent, with clear breakdowns of budget and hours needed for each development task, making us feel like they were an extension of our in-house team.

Great Job

We approached Rocketech with a project to build a roulette system that could live stream game results directly from an offline casino. Our aim was to offer our users an immersive and reliable gaming experience while ensuring the integrity and legality of the gameplay. We challenged the team to develop a platform with all the necessary integrations and services, at a more affordable cost compared to other tech vendors.

What was the project name that you have worked with Rocketech?

Absoulte Live Gaming

What service was provided as part of the project?

Web Development

Describe your project in brief

There were 3 iterations of the project. The team started with preparing the mobile version and expanding the web platform’s functionality. The second iteration expanded the solution, gave it a user-friendly interface, and developed an admin panel. As a third iteration, we became a gaming studio and full-fledged gambling product. The solution has mobile and web versions, supports more than 30 integrations, and provides different monetization channels.
Overall, we saved 9 times the budget, while getting high-quality services. The platform is available for more than 20K players worldwide and accepts more than 2 million bets a year. We’ve been successful on the market for more than 5 years.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

Developers’ skillset and their experience (in comparison to other providers) and their flexibility to adjust to our budget and limitations.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

Rocketech is the best company to go to if you are a startup

I came to Rocketech with wireframes for a complicated enterprise Saas project. Multiple software development cooperation

It is very cool when working with a team is not just a customer / client relationship, but when it becomes a partnership in which common goals and the most effective methods of achieving them are jointly formulated.

The processes built in ROCKETECH.IT and the general high level of specialists allow you to be confident in the results. The way the team is able to solve complex, sometimes conflicting tasks, speaks of a high level of professionalism and internal culture.

I often recommend the ROCKETECH.IT team to those companies for which it is either important to find a long-term partner, or need to reach the result within the planned time frame.

I wish the team great success and further development!

Web development for Corporate Gifts Company

Rocketech helped built a company website, using modern technology tools and design trends to implement new features and functionality that better serve consumers. They continue to provide support now.

We needed a vendor with proven experience in the industry, an excellent understanding of modern web trends, IT knowledge, and top-notch design and development skills. We looked online for an agency that met our standards, also noting their price points and team depth. Rocketech met all of our requirements, so we chose to work with them.

Now, we’re able to quickly respond to inquiries, allocate more time to tasks, test new tools, expand our functionality, and reach new customers. Great quality and great team

We are a private pension fund. We were looking for developers to extend our team. ROCKETECH helped us to improve with strong engineers and QA testers.
We searched for several developers with specific requirements. Our system was developed long ago and a very old technology stack was selected. We had and remain the current team, but it was necessary to strengthen with new forces.
ROCKETECH has provided us with specialists of several qualifications who continue our long productive work with us.
The team:
1. A manual software tester with SQL knowledge at the query compilation level.
2. Delphi programmer (RAD Studio) with knowledge of Oracle (sql, trigger, procedures, functions). Work with a client-server application.
3. Web programmer (.NET, ADO.NET, BLToolkit, C #, Entity Framework). I had knowledge of SQL, working with an Oracle database.
We like to work together and looking forward to the releases of new versions and continuous development.

Ability to offer different engineers very fast and change them. ROCKETECH taking the responsibility and present quality developers. We liked it’s SLA because we are focusing on new features, product business logic, but people just coming from ROCKETECH.

Investing platform development

We have started our project at 2018 and was thinking how it will be released. We met Rocketech at that year. After a while of testing concepts we came back to Rocketech for development from scratch our platform.

Rocketech very quickly conducted a discovery sprint of our financial platform that they were to implement. Other companies began to offer to write technical documentation, while Rocketech proposed to start and move on the project in short sprints with the implementation of functionality for each sprint. The development team acted in a very coherent manner, always meeting the deadlines and budget in accordance with the established budget; they resolved all unforeseen issues related to this project very quickly by contacting and coordinating them with us. Despite the pause in the project, the team quickly returned to work and this did not affect the quality.

This is a platform for individual and joint investments, most of the functions under a non-disclosure agreement

Some of them:

- Authorisation and registration

- Asset allocation

- Security module

- BI module

- Integration with the exchange

- Cryptocurrency Integration Module

A team with a flexible work model implementing block by block. We were bribed by the speed of relocation and the price of each function. Thank you ROCKETECH!

Social

Project description: BookWA is a Russian virtual book club that comprises a listing and a social network's functionality. Here, people can connect over literature worth sharing, indulge in meaningful discussions, and get reading recommendations based on real feedback and personal preferences.

Our role: UX/UI Design, Branding, Mobile Development, Backend, Support

Tech stack: iOS: Swift, RxSwift, CocoaPods, VKSDK, Facebook, Realm, Alamofire, Sockets, Markdown, SnapKit, Fabric, Crashlytics, YoutubePlayer.

Back-end: nodejs, jsberry framework express,

Integrations: VK, Facebook, Apple ID, CDN API

Database: mongodb, mysql

Front-end: jsberry, reactjs, express, redux saga.

The challenge: The project emerged from the client’s idea of a book-specific social networking app with smart recommendation algorithms based on two metrics: community feedback and user behavior. We were challenged to deliver complex social mechanics while keeping the app simple and uncluttered. The team got involved in the project to the maximum extent, crafting the overall concept, logic, interface, and design.

The solution: The end product is a social networking app with a 180,000+ book database, vast social mechanics, and an active reading community.

  • Automatically generated personalized recommendations and maps of emotions based on user actions;

  • Personal library with suggestions, books saved for later, and stats;

  • Social networking functionality allowing users to follow people with similar reading preferences, like their libraries, leave comments, participate in multi-thread discussions, and get in-app notifications;

  • Newsfeed featuring friends’ reading choices and recommendations, as well as comments, ratings, quotes of the day, and likes;

  • Integration with Facebook, VK, and Russia’s biggest ebook marketplaces: LitRes and Book24.

  • Admin panel development and API integration.

Results: We developed an iOS mobile app from scratch and tested it in real-time with an active user base. A thousand users attracted to testing became the pioneers of the BookWA community and further developed the project.

We worked closely with the in-house team on each stage of the development cycle. The app underwent 10 iterations of design and multiple incarnations of mechanics and logic.

Although the code base has grown more complex over time, the system remains stable and handles thousands of active users without the refactoring job.

The app scored 1000+ downloads in a matter of the first two weeks.

Shortly after launch, BookWA was rated #17 in the Russian AppStore.

Two years in the project, we continue to maintain the app in the support mode, improving its performance and usability.

Project description: Dice Chess is a variation of classic chess with elements of a game of chance. A user deposits money and competes with random people, but as opposed to the regular chess rules, they have to roll the dice to determine which piece they may move.

Our role: UX/UI Design, Web development, Backend, Support

Tech stack: React.js, React Hooks, PHP

The challenge: The client came to us with an old ready-made product and asked to rebuild it into a present-date web app. Rocketech devs studied architecture and structure of the old project, as well as the protocol and data exchange format. The goal was to liven up the obsolete functionality and ensure safety at where people put their money at stake.

The solution: We updated the frontend and the backend of a 25-year-old application, refreshed the design, and adapted the interface for mobile devices.

  • Backend adjustments and adaptation to the modern frontend.

  • New layout tailored for mobile devices.

  • CSS-based 3D animation.

  • Fullscreen for iPhone.

  • The ability to create a group game for three game types: Classic, Double-Up, and Tournament.

  • The next chess move suggestion option.

  • The ability to raise bids and suggest a rematch.

  • For clients’ security, we made sure that the gaming progress freezes in case of server-side issues.

Results: The Rocketech team delivered full functionality: from registration to creating games and participating in them.

Throughout the work, we fixed the backend bugs, added gaming features, and improved 3D animation for the game created back in 1995.

We doubled the game speed on the client side. The next stage objective is speeding up the backend by 2-3 times and scaling of the project.

The client came to us after an unfortunate development experience - the website didn’t fit modern design and development standards. We wanted to give Welny a fresh feel with minimalistic UX/UI and clear visuals. The end-platform had to look different, just like the concept itself.

Solution

First, we focused on researching market needs and dissecting the target audience. We understood that we are dealing with the diverse client group and opted in favor of neutral vector graphics.

  • Admin panel development and API integration;

  • Food-delivery format, with instant order processing and confirmation, innovative to massage industry;

  • 50+ interface screenshots adapted to different target audience segments.

Results

  • The service was highly praised by major Russian media - vc.ru, NTV, and others;

  • The company became the only end-to-end message delivery service on the Russian market and created a marketplace for industry professionals;

  • 500+ positive user reviews with an average App Store score of 4,8 out of 5;

  • After the release, the startup was noticed, several angel investors.

Project description: IL’Conto keeps count of all the joint payments, be it ticket purchases or restaurant tabs, and notifies group members when it’s their turn to pay.

Our role: Mobile Development, UX/UI Design, Support

Tech stack: Swift, iOS SDK, iOS MVP, Alamofire, REST API, APNs

The challenge

The client came to us with an app design to help keep count of all the cost-sharing during travels. When travelling in a large group, members often pay for one another, and by the end of the trip it’s hard to say how much members owe each other. Our task was to design an app that would register all the joint payments and notify the owing members to pay on time.

The solution

The client had a small dev team from the previous project but they were with zero experience in mobile development. We took upon ourselves cross-team management, testing, development and implementation of hypotheses. Users install the app, create a transaction or a group, and the paying members register the amount, the date, and the event for which they had to pay. After the trip, the app would sum all the costs up and notify members to return the debt.

What the app offers:

  • Keeps tabs on more than 100 currencies in real time;

  • The joint-cost is divided between all the members in the transaction. If members paid unevenly, you can manually fix the costs of each;

  • There’s a web version of the product;

  • We made an instant offline mode of the app. You can use it without the internet, and when coming online, the app syncs the cache with the backend data;

  • Premium subscription allows to register an unlimited number of groups and transactions.

Results

  • We developed and released the end product in 3 months;

  • We reached the result by collaborating with two teams. ROCKETECH supervised the client’s dev team and directed the collective effort to release the end product;

  • An average score of 4,3 out of 5 in App Store.

Project description: Foodband is a 24/7 pizza delivery service that offers custom-made pizza, beverages, and snacks. The platform has a web version and an Android/iOS mobile app.

Our role: UX/UI Design, Illustrations, Animations, Mobile Development

Tech stack: Swift, Realm, GoogleMaps, Firebase

The challenge

For this client, the main priority was the product’s speed and responsiveness. Naturally, people should be able to order pizza in a few seconds, and the company has to receive the request immediately. We were called in to design the app f, implement database support, and develop essential functionality.

The solution

On-demand food delivery e-commerce mobile app - the orders are placed in the basket and confirmed with an SMS. Users can pay after delivery, with a card, or Google Pay. The point system encourages long-term customers and supports a solid client-company relationship.

  • UI/UX design, from the starting screen to advanced delivery settings panels;

  • Firebase implementation for organizing customers’ statistics, user behavior monitoring, and app performance management;

  • We created a custom test server for the initial development and testing stages.

Results

  • The company was ranked the "Best Pizza Service" in Moscow, according to Big Picture, a leasing Russian media company;

  • 50 000+ app downloads in 2 years

  • 658 positive reviews.

Project description

Chin-Chin is a customizable cocktail delivery service which makes getting a personalized drink set as easy as ordering a pizza. Website visitors can choose their favorite flavors, make a quick order, and track the progress. It’s a one-in-a kind service for the Russian market, inspired by the Dominos delivery model.

The challenge

 Our client came to us with a request to automate order creation and delivery monitoring on a simple platform. The website was envisioned to deliver a full experience of personalized cocktail creation to the end-user as well as simplify business management for Chin-Chin’s team.

The solution
We combined an inner management platform with a stylish online store with personalized cocktail offers. It’s an online cocktail bar where users order their drink sets and learn more about the company. Also, it’s an automation platform for crucial business processes - product management, order processing, delivery, customer relations, documentation.

  • Our implementation of Bitrix CRM allowed clients to integrate rich functionality that perfectly corresponded to the client’s needs. Instead of writing the platform from scratch, we seamlessly integrated a ready product, cutting 10x expenses.

  • Performance testing for Bitrix-powered website to assure that the team promptly receives customer requests;

  • The order tracking system, inspired by Dominos - the end user previews the order status from a PC, smartphone or tablet via a cross-platform web app.

Results

  • We reduced the costs at 10+ times by integrating a ready-to-use CRM instead of writing a custom management tool;

  • The MVP, created by Rocketech, was successfully presented to stakeholders, clients, and investors.

Description

An international sports association reached out to our team for the development of a tournament organization and management system. A client was looking for a powerful web solution that would accumulate all the data about upcoming and past tournaments, participants, clubs, responsible members. Moreover, the platform was expected to be used during the tournaments as well - keeping track of performance, documenting, details, distributing places and trophies, etc.

The entire platform, both front-end and back-end was built from scratch by our team. This way, we made sure that the functionality and internal logic fit perfectly the needs of the federation.

Our role: UX/UI Design, Web development, Backend, Support

Tech stack: PHP, Laravel, Web-socket, PostgreSQL, ReactJs

Challenge

The key requirement to a platform was fast performance and reliability. On the tournament day and before competitions, the system had to accommodate thousands of users, their personal data, identification documents, photos, etc.

Since it’s a sports federation website, another challenge was to find an appropriate design theme: something that would represent official authorities but would also be usable and intuitive. We had to find a fine line between complexity and simplicity for quick scaling.

Solution

ROCKETECH developers built frontend and backend for the platform. One team focused on building a client-side interface. All content was divided into 10+ pages: the feed of tournaments, personal page, personalities, the event calendar, registration, search and filters, and news blog.

Backend operations were even more complex - the system is tailored to club managers and federation members. We enabled APIs for planners, data storage, tracking, notifications. Admin panels enable federation members to process and accept competition requests, approve club memberships, and manage tournaments.

  • Full-stack web development: our team developed a client-side app for users (club members, owners, competition participants);

  • UX/UI design: we defined user personas, their interests, needs, and concerns and built a frontend that correlates with all of them;

  • A complex admin panel for real-time tournament management and preparation;

  • Content management: the website has a blog where administrators post news about tournaments;

  • We connected all participants of sports events, organization, and management - contestants, creators of the events, coaches, content managers, system administrators. Different user roles are able to interact with each other

Results

  • The system was developed to sustain the user load of 400 000+ visitors and proved on multiple occasions its high-performance capacities;

  • We were working with a limited budget and found creative solutions that reduced time expenses and allowed us to save human resources and reduce expenses;

  • Despite the long pauses in the development of the project, it was brought to release;

  • Built a responsive and intuitive UI despite the platform’s high functional complexity

SmartBuilding is an automated platform where construction organizations automate supervision, staff management, documentation, and construction access control.

Tech stack: Next.js, Express.js, GraphQL, Redux, React, MySQL, Socket.IO

Our role: Business Analytics, Agile coaching, design, API, Development, Testing, Maintenance

The challenge

The client had several goals for the project. The first one was to make sure that a supervisor can quickly obtain data about a single construction worker anytime. The next step is to automate documentation, notifying staff about work quality and safety violations.

The solution

We created an MVP for digitalized construction management infrastructure where a client can control documentation, monitor work hours, materials, and costs.

  • A QR code is attached to the worker’s helmet - by scanning the code, the manager receives access to the full profile;

  • Access Control List provides clients with multi-layered access configurations - users receive rights for viewing, managing, or editing worker profiles;

  • Construction site database stores information in the intuitive dashboard where users can sort through entries, preview the locations, monitor the construction progress.

Results

  • With the combination of Agile and Scrum best practices, we managed to develop a complex platform from scratch in 2 months

  • The solution has disrupted the market with a unique solution for full construction work automation

  • The platform has attracted several construction companies already at the MVP stage.

Project description: Pocket Safe is a password manager app that helps people log in to services they rely on every day.

Our role: UX/UI Design, Mobile Development, Backend, QA

Tech stack: Node.JS, Express, MySQL, Mailgun, JWT Auth, REST API, Swift

The challenge: The team was summoned to create an uncluttered password manager mobile application for logging into any websites with a single sign-on solution. This wasn’t an easy one - our devs had to architect the UX and fill it with UI elements according to the Apple guidelines, connect the frontend and the backend, test the thing, and deliver it to the client market-ready — all in a matter of a month.

The solution: We created an app that grants access to multiple passwords under an extra-secure Master Password. Users can auto-login to their favorite websites, change passwords right from the app, organize them into groups, and share account access with multiple people. The app communicates with the database through the secure Rest API.

  • We developed a minimalistic UX/UI to avert unnecessary user actions.

  • The library of the most popular services was preinstalled for a comfier search.

  • For extra security, we implemented a 4-digit PIN code lock and an auto-lock timer that blocks the app after a specified period of inactivity.

  • We implemented in-app subscription purchase with a 3-day free trial.

Results

The end product is a straightforward mobile solution that increases productivity and decreases the likelihood of password-related breaches.

In just a month, we managed to build the app from scratch — on time, on budget.

Pocket Safe is translated into 32 languages and currently available in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

Executive Interview of Rocketech

Alexey Borisov
Alexey Borisov
CEO
Visit Profile
Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
Rocketech is an analytics-driven technology partner for companies that are launching new software products or entering the market. Our team provided strategic vision and technical skills for more than 100 released products for 70 companies worldwide. Our work was recognized as New Apps We Love in the App Store, appraised by Grammy awards and recognized the fastest-growing startups by GMIC, and received positive reviews from GQ, HuffPost, Forbes, Mashable, etc.

Our team provides valuable insights into software development processes, encouraging clients to incorporate our experience into their inner processes. As a CEO, I am responsible for communicating with clients and partners and nurturing long-term relationships. I talk to each client personally and get direct feedback - this personalized approach gives our clients more clarity on cooperation and helps our team to grow all the time.
What is your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We offer outsourcing development services, helping our clients to reduce development costs by cutting off the expenses associated with maintaining an in-house team (renting an office space, social packages, onboarding costs).

However, as a company, we work as a single in-house unit, typically without collaborating with third-party vendors. There are exceptions, however - sometimes we cooperate with trusted marketing providers to assist our clients with promotion and content management. Overall, we need to take full responsibility for the project to ensure the project results fully.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
We focus on delivering tangible business value - the metrics for the success of our development projects are actual revenue, cost reduction, and increasing businesses’ growth rates. For us, a great product isn’t defined by perfect code - although it’s always implied - but rather a product with a successful business model that drives profit to the company.

We won’t join a product just “for the sake of it”. We must see that a business model is viable, and the project has real chances of succeeding in the market. If we are not sure that a product can deliver such results, we communicate these concerns right away.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive?
Social networks, services, factories, construction & real estate, FMCG, FinTech, and FoodTech. Mainly these are startups, but also SMEs and corporations that introduce new products to the market.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a web app.
The main criteria are the client’s final objectives - what will a product bring to the owner and company? Then, we define an MVP, research user personas, and do detailed story mapping. In a typical project, an MVP development takes about a month. If a client has an urgent task, we rely on senior developers or increase the team’s size - although, it’s not a universal solution. If the project can’t possibly be completed in the short term, we directly tell this to a client.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the frontend and back end of a web app?
It depends on what kind of system needs to be developed. Usually, we work on complex custom systems with rich functionality, which is why backend and business logic are a priority. However, in some projects, a product requires a complicated interface or animation - these are trickier to implement than regular frontend solutions (so the proportion would be 50:50). Typically, though, 60-70% of the time goes to develop backend with 30-40% for frontend solutions.

But again, it’s a generalized estimate. The actual ratios heavily depend on the number of screens, implemented algorithms, and the nature of the project.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a web application?
Again, it depends on the project. I can say for sure, though, that we won’t ever write a custom admin panel for corporate sites that serve only as an additional communication channel. We start our choice from user characteristics and project ROIs to offer the most optimal tech stack, as well as offering alternatives.

Generally speaking, the main parameters are the platform’s safety, comfort, scalability, and optimizations for high traffic loads.
Which platform and technologies do you prefer to use in the development of your web apps?
We choose technologies that are easy to maintain and scale in the long run. We want to make sure that our clients can easily support a product on their own. For big projects, we choose Angular, for medium and small ones - React.js. If we work in Node.js, our top choice is Nest.js - it’s a great framework that solves many Node’s problems and works well for enterprise-level solutions. For smaller-scale projects with no multi-threads, we use PHP7 and Symphony.
Do you offer website design templates or customized website design, and do you have a responsive website design?
If there is a specific request from a client, we can use a design template - especially if we see that it’s the best solution cost-wise. Usually, however, we prefer to make custom designs because it allows us to have more control over the end interface. End users are demanding, and we can’t be restricted by template limitations. All of our websites are responsive because this forms the user’s trust in the product.
Which Content Management System do you prefer to use (Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, etc.)?
Wordpress, but we always make sure to implement additional security, Spotify for e-commerce, or custom development.
Do you provide website maintenance services?
Yes, we continuously detect and solve issues, analyze user behavior, and release new versions of the product. Also, our team signs a service-level agreement where we define our responsibilities for website maintenance, mean time between features (MTBF), data storage, and processing details. Overall, we make sure that the maintenance is just as well defined as the pre-release stages are.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a web application?
We define the project scope first, clear out deliverables, and analyze the efforts that are required to deploy the end solution. After we are done with the evaluation, we proceed to determine the defined tech stack and base the cost on that.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions, etc.)
We use Time and Materials because it’s an agile cooperation model that allows clients and our team to introduce continuous improvements to the project. As an Agile development team, we think it’s important to have the freedom to adapt the workflow to changing project requirements. However, we do provide clients with estimates for each project stage, as well as a detailed risk evaluation. We also share our experiences from our similar completed projects - so, at the end of the day, a client still has a clear idea of the realistic cost.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
The minimal cost of a project is $1000, typically for discovery stages. Usually, the project doesn’t finish here - clients want to prolong the cooperation.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2019?
$1000 to $200 000.
Kindly share your feedback on how GoodFirms has been doing so far in increasing your visibility among potential clients.
We often see our potential clients mentioning GoodFirms as the source of information about our company. We have attracted quite a lot of partnerships from the website. Generally, being represented as a part of a top international development community increases clients’ trust - so we’d like to thank GoodFirms for their work.
