Itransition

Itransition developed and implemented a software suite to enhance product delivery and merchandising workflows at one of the PepsiCo distributors. The suite includes custom mobile and web applications with a common back-end. Using the mobile app, merchandisers can take pictures of merchandise displays, edit and share them with the assigned supervisors. The latter use the dedicated web app to analyze the shared displays, reveal related issues, and initiate corrective actions when required.  

The delivered software helped the company address the critical challenges they faced in their daily product delivery and arrangement on store shelves. As a result, it allowed increasing sales through:

• Timely stock refill
• More diversified sets of products displayed in each store of the distribution network
• Improved product display
• Ongoing monitoring of competitors’ product displays

Itransition designed and implemented an AWS-based BI solution to provide a large fashion retailer with advanced customer analytics and help them personalize online shopping experience through accurate user behavior models. The delivered solution can process up to 10 TB of data and 8 million of events collected from the connected web and mobile apps. With the data aggregated in a centralized system, the retailer’s marketing teams can build over 100 types of customer reports and make data-based decisions about promotions, new feature implementation, customer communication, and new product launch.

Itransition also implemented a custom AI-powered recommendation engine that uses a collaborative filtering algorithm for customer experience personalization. Apart from that, our team applied computer vision technologies to optimize the detection of multiple attributes of apparel items (color, model, accessories, patterns, etc.).

TradeSmith, the owner of TradeStops, one of the largest digital investment and trading platforms in the US, turned to Itransition to improve the solution’s performance and facilitate its maintenance. Itransition’s team helped the customer to improve the platform’s metrics by optimizing three major aspects:

Software monitoring. Our team implemented a Zabbix-based solution to ensure 24/7 automated monitoring of the platform. This solution provides the support team with accurate metrics regarding server availability, in-app data flows, the operational status of multiple websites, database stability, and more.

Cybersecurity. Itransition delivered a ready-to-use methodology for the company to carry out regular security audits of their platform and the software environment on the whole. The methodology also documented the core principles of secure code delivery, user authentication, and access to the platform. Our team also implemented a set of security features to strengthen digital protection from external intrusions.

CI/CD automation. Leveraging Jenkins, Itransition automated CI/CD workflows, thus simplifying the design and implementation of new features as well as deploying them across five environments.

For over 10 years, Itransition has been collaborating with a US-based provider of advanced solutions for the pharmaceutical industry, delivering a range of solutions, including:

• A BI platform for the pharmaceutical market data analysis. Our team revamped the customer’s legacy BI solution, rearchitecting it using the ASP.NET MVC framework and Microsoft SQL Server. We also delivered new features and modules for improved data extraction and management, forecasting, and easier survey processing.
• A data management application that ensured 10x faster data processing with fewer resources. We integrated the application with Salesforce, Oracle, Microsoft SQL, and Apache Hadoop, as well as delivered new features, including a market definition engine, automated data parsing, scheduled job triggers, and more.
• A data visualization application built on top of the React library. The app visualizes data coming from the data management app and can be connected to third-party data management engines.
• A KPI management platform that aggregates data from scattered sources and transform it into actionable insights into the pharmaceutical market.

One of the world’s largest manufacturers of components for aircraft engines chose Itransition as their technology partner to address a variety of post-deployment challenges they faced with their custom ERP. Itransition’s team performed a detailed code review and revealed multiple issues that hindered the operation of the ERP modules. The team rewrote the erroneous legacy Java code and tested all of the modules to make sure there were no more bottlenecks.

At the next stage, Itransition analyzed all integrations of the ERP solution with third-party systems and detected inconsistencies that resulted in incorrect data synchronization and workflow disruption. The team not only fixed all the issues but also delivered custom APIs to connect the ERP with other enterprise solutions deployed on the customer’s side.

Itransition created a multilayer IoT system for Summer Infant, a US-based manufacturer and distributor of baby care products. The customer approached Itransition with the challenge to design a sophisticated IoT ecosystem that would connect their baby care products with a variety of devices (smartphones, PCs, digital screens, sensors, etc.), thus ensuring a permanent control over infants’ health.

While cooperating with geographically distributed firmware and hardware providers, Itransition’s team delivered two operational prototypes of the baby care IoT products, managed through a custom mobile application. Our team also took part in the development of the Angular-based backend and reviewed the code of the video streaming solution that made part of the IoT ecosystem.

Itransition cooperated with a global provider of maritime data analytics and shipping intelligence software to revitalize one of their flagship solutions. Data inconsistency, improper data synchronization, and bulky, terabyte-sized reports were among the customer’s challenges that resulted from the poor partial migration of their legacy solution.

Itransition eliminated all the issues by completing the data migration from the legacy environment along with redesigning the system’s architecture and redistributing the load between clusters, thus reducing the Elasticsearch load from 70% to 5%. Our team also delivered over a dozen of extended features (arrival and sanction alerts, port display, vessel images, ship location history, etc.).

Itransition implemented a custom EHR software accessible for both healthcare providers and patients. Applying their expertise in healthcare software development, Itransition’s team designed a HIPAA-compliant solution with a variety of features for healthcare organizations, physicians, and their patients, including easy access to health records, appointment management, lab test results integration, reporting, and more.

The solution is based on several innovative technologies. Equipped with a speech recognition feature, the system allows doctors to take notes as they speak while converting speech into typed text. At the same time, the solution was integrated with a handwriting service, which transforms written notes into digital documents. Apart from that, the EHR provides a telemedicine feature for doctors to carry out online consultations.

One of the largest UK commercial property management companies, Bruntwood, entrusted Itransition with the full-cycle development and implementation of a customized Salesforce CRM. Helping the company to put together business workflows and customer data scattered among disintegrated solutions, Itransition’s experts designed the solution’s architecture, implemented the out-of-the-box Salesforce CRM, fine-tuned the cloud platform, and enriched the CRM with unique custom features.

The implemented CRM covered a multitude of the customer’s daily workflows, including lead and opportunity management, contract and case management, sales offer generation, and customer experience analysis. Additionally, our team integrated the solution with Power BI to extend customer analytics capabilities.

As part of our corporate R&D, Itransition elaborated and implemented an in-house face recognition solution to automate the facility access management and improve internal security. Built on a custom machine learning algorithm, the designed solution captures employees’ faces at the office entrance, analyzes preloaded photosets, and identifies each person by calculating the similarity index.

By experimenting with dozens of technologies, our team found the optimal stack for training a deep neural network:

• Face detection: a TensorFlow model with the YOLO algorithm
• Face coding: the ResNet50 network
• Face verification: an improved Cosine Similarity

One of the greatest achievements of the project was the solution’s exceptional performance. The system performs with a Geforce RTX 2070 Graphics Card at 20-30 FPS, compared to 1-5 FPS demonstrated by similar solutions available on the market.
