Overview

About Bladeware

Bladeware builds & fixes healthcare software.

We always start with an audit.

For health-tech startups that's the tech - security, HIPAA, how production-ready an AI-built app is to handle patient data.

For specialty and cash-pay practices - it's operations: where workflows leak time and money. Then we fix it with whatever fits better: automations, integrations between the tools you already have, custom software - sometimes just advice, not everything needs to be built.

WHAT WE DO

  • Safety & HIPAA audits of AI-built health apps - bring your vibe-coded app to production
  • Workflow automation for cash-pay practices
  • Patient portals and EMR/EHR integrations (Cerbo, Athena, DrChrono, Healthie and others)
  • Custom healthcare software - from MVP to production-ready

STANDARDS

HIPAA, HITECH, PIPEDA, GDPR, PDPA.

Kindly share your feedback on how Goodfirms has been doing so far in increasing your visibility among potential clients.

Goodfirms is a great resource that helps us to increase trust for potential clients. Some clients come to us and mention that they found our company on Goodfirms, so it increases the default level of trust which is good. We are proud to be a part of the community :)

Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.

Bladeware is a software design & development company that helps many businesses all over the world in their digitalization. We focus on providing full-cycle solutions for businesses starting from the validating product idea and conducting the Discovery Phase to Design, Development, Testing, Release, and post-release support.

We focus on working with small and medium-sized businesses and have proven expertise across different Domains.

Our team is represented by highly motivated people with a passion for what they are doing. We value freedom and flexibility and that's the reason why we are fully remote :)

I’m the CEO & Founder at Bladeware.

What is the story behind starting this company?

Before founding Bladeware, I worked as an Android Developer and worked across different IT companies and also across multiple different projects as an independent contractor and I was never liked the whole approach to software design & development, and essentially, you know, I wanted to do things better and according to my own vision with a passion to organize workflow better, in particular - we spending a lot of time for research and analyzing the market before we can jump to the development, and I think this is something that makes us stand out of the crowd - we pay a lot of attention at the early stage of the product and this approach make us to deliver only those apps that really matters for the businesses and for the end-users as well.

What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?

We handle everything in-house and don't outsource to any third-party vendors. I'm a strong believer that the right people can do amazing things together if they are passionate about something, the power in synergy. In Bladeware we have a solid team of highly motivated professionals with a passion for what they are doing. People are very important and this is one of the biggest challenges we are facing - to find the right people who would perfectly fit for us as well as we would be amazing company for them and their professional growth.

How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?

I think there is a combination of factors that makes us stand out of the crowd:
1. We're not just writing code, we provide full-cycle solutions for our clients, starting from validating business ideas and research.
2. Our approach to hiring - we have a complex vetting process and I personally interview everyone to make sure we hire the right people.

Obviously, there are a bunch of other solid companies who do the same things in a similar way - but at this point, clients will just choose the vendor who they feel will fit better with their ideas & vision, that's totally fine :) We are not chasing projects, we want to find the right long-term partners where we can build win-win business relationships.

What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?

We cater to different industries, however, we mostly focused on: Fitness & Health, On-Demand Apps, Communication & Social Apps, Education.

Yes, we do have repetitive customers, usually, clients come to us and want to develop MVP to validate the idea and find the investments, eventually, they come back to extend the app. The ratio depends on the specifics of the project, market and many factors, to be honest I didn't measure it, so it's hard to say.

Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?

Our main focus is mobile development, so most clients approach us when they want to develop an app for Android & iOS. We always prefer to start from the Discovery Phase, as generally, even a simple project hides a lot of surprises and uncertainties, so we usually start from the Discovery Phase.

What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?

I think it's about 85%. Most of our customers are happy with our services and leave positive reviews. There were some situations where it was hard for us to work with some clients, but it's alright, it happens. Our goal is not to make everyone happy, but to work with clients who share our vision and approach, and with those, we can build trustworthy relationships.

We usually start our business relationships with Discovery Phase - its a relatively short-term project and it gives us a possibility to understand the project requirements and see if we can handle everything or there are some complications where we don’t have relevant expertise or something, but it also give both us and the client to see if we are comfortable to work together in long-term, this is one of the advantages in conducting Discovery Phase.

What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?

To make sure everything is going as expected we arrange regular meetings with customers to see if they have any concerns or issues about the workflow, basically anything they want to talk about, this approach gives us a possibility to identify issues in the early stage when it's easy to fix, and it also keeps the customer engaged in the process, I think it's very important for every project success.

Also, we are offering a 2 month free post-release support period for our customers, which means we will be fixing all the bugs that customer founds.

What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)

We are flexible here, depending on the project and its complexity we offer different payment models. In the Discovery Phase, we usually make Fixed Costs. When it comes to Design and Development we usually follow the Time & Material model, especially Development where you always have a lot of uncertainties and things that are hard to foresee. However, we can offer a hybrid model - the clearest part we can split into Milestones and make Fixed Cost, and the part that is impossible to estimate properly - we would follow Time & Material.

Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?

We are flexible here, if we speak about the development - we will not be interested in projects less than $10,000, simply because it would be a very short-term project. However, for the Discovery Phase, it could be $5,000 or less.

What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2020?

The range was from $2,000 to $150,000+.

Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?

We are going to focus on gaining experience across different domains, consolidating expertise, increasing brand awareness, and becoming a trusted technology partner who will concentrate on working on really complex full-cycle software solutions and bring more value for our clients and end customers. I think in the long run it’s important to grow organically and allocate enough time to adjust work processes to make sure we can deliver the best software solutions.
