Kindly share your feedback on how GoodFirms has been doing so far in increasing your visibility among potential clients.
GoodFirms is a great resource that helps us to increase trust for potential clients. Some clients come to us and mention that they found our company on GoodFirms, so it increases the default level of trust which is good. We are proud to be a part of the community :)
Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.
Bladeware is a software design & development company that helps many businesses all over the world in their digitalization. We focus on providing full-cycle solutions for businesses starting from the validating product idea and conducting the Discovery Phase to Design, Development, Testing, Release, and post-release support.

We focus on working with small and medium-sized businesses and have proven expertise across different Domains.

Our team is represented by highly motivated people with a passion for what they are doing. We value freedom and flexibility and that's the reason why we are fully remote :)

I’m the CEO & Founder at Bladeware.
What is the story behind starting this company?
Before founding Bladeware, I worked as an Android Developer and worked across different IT companies and also across multiple different projects as an independent contractor and I was never liked the whole approach to software design & development, and essentially, you know, I wanted to do things better and according to my own vision with a passion to organize workflow better, in particular - we spending a lot of time for research and analyzing the market before we can jump to the development, and I think this is something that makes us stand out of the crowd - we pay a lot of attention at the early stage of the product and this approach make us to deliver only those apps that really matters for the businesses and for the end-users as well.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We handle everything in-house and don't outsource to any third-party vendors. I'm a strong believer that the right people can do amazing things together if they are passionate about something, the power in synergy. In Bladeware we have a solid team of highly motivated professionals with a passion for what they are doing. People are very important and this is one of the biggest challenges we are facing - to find the right people who would perfectly fit for us as well as we would be amazing company for them and their professional growth.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
I think there is a combination of factors that makes us stand out of the crowd:
1. We're not just writing code, we provide full-cycle solutions for our clients, starting from validating business ideas and research.
2. Our approach to hiring - we have a complex vetting process and I personally interview everyone to make sure we hire the right people.

Obviously, there are a bunch of other solid companies who do the same things in a similar way - but at this point, clients will just choose the vendor who they feel will fit better with their ideas & vision, that's totally fine :) We are not chasing projects, we want to find the right long-term partners where we can build win-win business relationships.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
We cater to different industries, however, we mostly focused on: Fitness & Health, On-Demand Apps, Communication & Social Apps, Education.

Yes, we do have repetitive customers, usually, clients come to us and want to develop MVP to validate the idea and find the investments, eventually, they come back to extend the app. The ratio depends on the specifics of the project, market and many factors, to be honest I didn't measure it, so it's hard to say.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
Our main focus is mobile development, so most clients approach us when they want to develop an app for Android & iOS. We always prefer to start from the Discovery Phase, as generally, even a simple project hides a lot of surprises and uncertainties, so we usually start from the Discovery Phase.
What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
I think it's about 85%. Most of our customers are happy with our services and leave positive reviews. There were some situations where it was hard for us to work with some clients, but it's alright, it happens. Our goal is not to make everyone happy, but to work with clients who share our vision and approach, and with those, we can build trustworthy relationships.

We usually start our business relationships with Discovery Phase - its a relatively short-term project and it gives us a possibility to understand the project requirements and see if we can handle everything or there are some complications where we don’t have relevant expertise or something, but it also give both us and the client to see if we are comfortable to work together in long-term, this is one of the advantages in conducting Discovery Phase.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
To make sure everything is going as expected we arrange regular meetings with customers to see if they have any concerns or issues about the workflow, basically anything they want to talk about, this approach gives us a possibility to identify issues in the early stage when it's easy to fix, and it also keeps the customer engaged in the process, I think it's very important for every project success.

Also, we are offering a 2 month free post-release support period for our customers, which means we will be fixing all the bugs that customer founds.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We are flexible here, depending on the project and its complexity we offer different payment models. In the Discovery Phase, we usually make Fixed Costs. When it comes to Design and Development we usually follow the Time & Material model, especially Development where you always have a lot of uncertainties and things that are hard to foresee. However, we can offer a hybrid model - the clearest part we can split into Milestones and make Fixed Cost, and the part that is impossible to estimate properly - we would follow Time & Material.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
We are flexible here, if we speak about the development - we will not be interested in projects less than $10,000, simply because it would be a very short-term project. However, for the Discovery Phase, it could be $5,000 or less.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2020?
The range was from $2,000 to $150,000+.
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
We are going to focus on gaining experience across different domains, consolidating expertise, increasing brand awareness, and becoming a trusted technology partner who will concentrate on working on really complex full-cycle software solutions and bring more value for our clients and end customers. I think in the long run it’s important to grow organically and allocate enough time to adjust work processes to make sure we can deliver the best software solutions.

Bladeware team helped Fleets Coffee to design & develop Android App that runs on the tablets located in the Fleets Coffee Mobile Cafe Truck. We started from conducting UX researches and Wireframing, then eventually created final UI design. Once we finished with the Design part we proceeded to App Development and it took us several months to built an MVP. During the Design Phase we had to consider that this app is not for mobile phones and is not for public mass usage, it's an industrial app that intended to be used only by kitchen stuff - Fleets Coffee employees. During the Design phase we had to consider that in mind and adopt our design accordingly. The most important was to design an app that would help kitchen stuff to process orders as faster as possible.

Social

Brief

Our client came to us with a great idea: they wanted to make a dating app that's different from the usual ones. Instead of just focusing on how people look or what they like, they believe that understanding each other's personalities is the key to finding real love.

Our job was to turn this idea into a real app, and we were excited to work together with our client to make it happen. We wanted to create a helpful tool for people who were looking for love based on understanding and compatibility, not just looks or interests.

Approach

Client has came to Bladeware with a good understanding of the project, so we started from preparing Project Specifications and then started the development.

Based on project requirements we decided to use Flutter technology for building mobile apps for Android & iOS. It gave us a possibility to have a single codebase and deliver apps faster than if we would proceed with Native technologies.

For the server side we decided to use Node.Js

CarbonTrainer is the world's first AI fitness solution designed for strength training. It's the first AI-powered at-home fitness mirror that tracks your entire workout from reps, volume, and technique. It is essential to prevent injury, build and maintain muscle, increase metabolic rate to lose fat and, we believe, should make up the core of everyone’s fitness program. And quite honestly, it's the coolest fitness solution on the market for serious training.

Our Role:

Bladeware team has developed a custom Android app designed specially for CarbonTrainer hardware. The app provides on-demand live classes and pre-programmed workouts, it tracks your every movement, progress and technique, analyses data using AI and provides needed guidance.

Final thoughts:

It was very interested and challenging in the same time for us to be a part of the team on this project, as it’s not just to develop an app for the mobile phones or tablets, in this case we had to consider a lot of things we usually don’t need to worry about when you making apps for the phones, so it was valuable and interesting experience and we hope that CarbonTrainer will truly make a revolution in Fitness industry.

Review Summary

Bladeware did a fantastic job bringing our project from an idea into a fully functional product. They demonstrated remarkable proficiency and communication skills, consistently taking a proactive approach at every stage of the project. Their willingness to go the extra mile by providing suggestions and recommendations on how to efficiently meet the project's needs and goals was greatly appreciated

We very much liked to work with them and I highly recommend them to any startup or company who needs to build their software product from scratch.

What was the project name that you have worked with Bladeware?

eLearning platform for content creators in Health & Wellness

What service was provided as part of the project?

Mobile App Development, Software Development, Testing Services

Describe your project in brief

Our project is an E-Learning platform that connects content creators in the Health & Wellness industry. The project consists of Web and mobile apps that provide access to educational materials (courses, sessions, workshops, live streams).

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

They were very involved in the project, a very customer-oriented company that not just does the development, but thinks about the product and our business, suggesting how we could better achieve our goals and providing flexible solutions. They are over-communicative, and delivery was on time and within a budget. We couldn’t been more happy with them.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

Nothing I could point to. Everything was great.

Roman and his team did an incredible job taking on the contract and absolutely delivering on the job. They were able to quickly adapt as requirements were updated, and very flexible with meetings. Overall they far exceeded my expectations and provided remarkably professional and polished designs. I would highly recommend Roman and his team for any freelance work, and look forward to working with them in the future.

What was the project name that you have worked with Bladeware?

LIFT. Fitness app.. Idk why I need 5 words

What service was provided as part of the project?

App Designing (UI/UX)

Describe your project in brief

Roman & the Bladeware team took a functional but undesigned fitness app and brought it to life. We began by going over the original functionality of the app and began designing a small section. From there the Bladeware team branded the app & gave it a color scheme. From there we began designing the most complex piece of the application and worked through our UI/UX challenges. They provided me with the assets and design flow of the application. Overall they absolutely delivered on the project and provided me with a design that was better than I had previously imagined

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

Roman and his team are extremely capable and able to break down complex problems into simple elegant solutions

Very communicative and had regular meetings to always make sure we are on the same page

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

I was honestly 100% satisfied with the work that was completed and do not have any complaints
