The BEHKO rebrand launch had a tight timeline, requiring the new website to go live in sync with the public unveiling of the brand. The goal was to reskin the existing WordPress framework while adding fresh content to tell the BEHKO story.

The Charlestonian is a luxury vacation rental property located on Cannon Street in Charleston, SC. Their team manages listings through Guesty, and the primary goal of this website was to support and grow their direct booking business to reduce reliance on third-party platforms while maintaining a seamless & attractive guest experience. This project required a high level of technical coordination to pair beautiful design with a fully integrated booking experience.

The Company
The Charlestonian offers high-end vacation rentals designed for guests seeking a premium Charleston experience. With a strong focus on location, quality, and hospitality, the property attracts travelers looking for alternatives to traditional hotels and short-term rental platforms.

The Challenge
The core challenge of this project was the Guesty API integration. Guesty utilizes two separate APIs for property data and the booking engine, making full integration complex and highly technical.

The website needed to:
Display live property information, photos, and availability
Support on-site bookings with integrated payments
Deliver a clean, intuitive user experience for prospective guests

All of this had to be accomplished while ensuring reliability and performance.

The Process
The Colophon team worked to integrate both Guestys property and booking APIs into a unified system using a plugin. We also built in Guesty Pay as the payment processor so the Charlestonian teams operations were seamless.

We built a streamlined booking flow that allows guests to easily find and reserve the right property while ensuring the system remains straightforward to manage long-term with minimal manual upkeep required.

The Solution
The final result is a gorgeous, high-performing website built specifically to generate direct bookings. Guests can explore the property, view availability, and complete reservations entirely on the Charlestonian website off platform and on brand.

Johnston Contracting engaged Colophon for a website upgrade. An existing customer for several years, the Johnston team wanted a fresh, more luxurious feel to their website to accompany their impeccable portfolio of high-end Charleston new builds & renovations.

The Company
Founded by Citadel graduate, Alex Johnston, Johnston Contracting is a leading provider of construction-focused, design, renovation, and building services in the Charleston, SC area for residential and commercial customers.

The Challenge
The Johnston Contracting team wanted a new website design, and the problem was in fact an ideal problem to have if youre a marketing agency: a plethora of exceptional, high-quality content to incorporate into the site. The entire gallery showcasing the companys luxury projects had to be gathered, organized, sorted & built into the site for the individual projects themselves, and for the category of project.

The Process
The Colophon team met with Johnston Contracting to understand the site vision and how to harness the legacy content to preserve the history of the company in the new design.

In Phase I, the team iterated the design & site layout with the customer.

In Phase II, the Colophon programmers brought the design to life in a custom WordPress theme specific to Johnston Contracting, and made the backend of the website dynamic so the Johnston Contracting team members could be in full control of their content.

In Phase III, leading practice optimization was implemented to the site for performance and search rank, including meta tags and alt text.

The Solution
Project showcase content came in waves with specific instructions for additions category, project, order in the gallery, etc. to ensure Johnstons customers received the ideal web viewing experience. Jeferson Uchak led the charge of content management and organization for the Colophon web dev team, and delivered exceptional response times back to the customers.

Colophon New Media is proud to have helped rebrand and overhaul the website for Live to Play Charleston (LTPCHS), a leading tennis academy with locations on Daniel Island and Mount Pleasant.

The new LTPCHS.com features a visually stunning design by Columbia-based UX experts, truematter, offering a fresh aesthetic for one of South Carolina's top tennis organizations.

The Company
LTP CHS (formerly LTP Tennis), the owner of CreditOne Stadium, is well-known in the Lowcountry. The Daniel Island venue hosts the Credit One Charleston Open (COCO), an annual WTA event that crowned Jessica Pegula as champion in 2025. Pegula trained at the Daniel Island facility under ATP pro Michael Joyce.

The Challenge
The main goal of the rebrand was to highlight that LTP CHS isn’t just about tennis. With the rapid rise of pickleball and padel, LTP CHS has become a hub for all racket sports. The Daniel Island location offers eight pickleball courts and one for padel, and the website needed to reflect this expanded focus.

The Process
Colophon followed its three-phase web development process to create the sprawling new website. Organizing and fine-tuning the site’s many templates resulted in a user-friendly, mobile-friendly destination for both casual players and parents of future tennis stars. Colophon also provided LTP CHS with online lead generation and digital marketing services, including Google ad management.

The Solution
The new LTP CHS website showcases tennis, pickleball, and padel courts with a video featuring players of all levels. It also allows easy booking for lessons or court time, and features bios of the leadership, coaching, and training staff.

One of the fastest-growing companies in the Charleston area, Charles Towne Plumbing, recently came to Colophon New Media in need of a new website with top-notch SEO to promote all that it offers.

In tandem with local marketing agency Momentum Results, Colophon built an eye-catching, robust website that does an outstanding job putting CTP on the radar of the countless Charleston residents and businesses with plumbing needs.

The carefully crafted SEO strategy behind the new Charles Towne Plumbing website is already helping the company stand out from the crowd in this increasingly saturated industry.

Given the high search volume for all of the top lead-generating terms in plumbing, Colophon knew it had to go to great lengths to make sure it created a site that checks every SEO box, and it delivered just that.

The highlights of this project include an effective template we created for CTP’s Services pages, which threads the UX needle of provinding plenty of copy & information without becoming difficult to navigate.

Another standout feature of our SEO-friendly site design was the series of well-designed CTP Locations landing pages, which have already proven effective at capturing search volume.
