A mid-size firm, but with extraordinary capability

Running a coffeehouse chain with over 50 stores across Vietnam, we found it necessary to have a mobile app for customer loyalty management. And that was when we turned to Designveloper (DSV) for help.

It's been about 3 months since the product launch, and we could tell that the app is like that Sade's song comes to life, Smooth Operator. It really helps facilitate the order and delivery process, and keep records of all transaction history, from which we could create a more precise portrait of our target customers and draw up better marketing campaigns.

Working with DSV was also pleasing. The team could grasp our points quickly, and even suggest further features for customer engagement. For those who are looking for a software solution company in South East Asia, DSV is definitely a name that you should never miss out.

Designveloper has helped us launch five energy programs this year in the time that we have worked with them, which represents a big chunk of work. Their ability to help us augment our team to enable us to do all of that work has been a huge win. Furthermore, their team also gives us weekly hours reports about the status of the project that outline how many hours we have used and how many are left on our contract, which is useful. They give the best solution to promote the website and good orientation for the platform via mobile.

Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.
Designveloper was founded earlier in 2013, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Designveloper is basically a team of young and enthusiastic graphic designers, web, mobile developers. Following a systematic approach, we intend to deliver the best, fastest, and most reliable quality services to our clients. Currently, we are focusing on responsive, single-page real-time web applications, cross-platform mobile apps. Using the best practices of agile project methodologies, we are committing to continuously deliver the highest quality products in short iterations.

I am the co-founder, president, and CEO of the company. At Designveloper, my job is to ensure smooth cooperation between departments including technical, design, project management, sales, marketing, and human resources. I love researching and applying new technologies and best practices to my company.

There are lots of them, including, but not limited to, responsive, parallax design, single-page real-time application, agile, test-driven development, pair programming. Some of the domains that I have been working on include automated online marketing, customer relationship management, healthcare, point of service (POS), retail merchandising system (RMS), mobile game, content management system (CMS), eCommerce.
What is the story behind starting this company?
Late 2012, early 2013, we saw the emerging of mobile devices. However, websites, web apps were not optimized for mobile devices. They normally worked well only on desktop, at a particular screen resolution. They were also slow, any action would require the whole webpage to be reloaded. Not only they behaved poorly but also looked ugly. That’s why we decided to form designveloper to solve this problem. Designveloper is a combination of “designer” and “developer”. To us, design should come first.

Our slogan is “realizing ideas”. We face new ideas almost every day. However, ideas with poor execution would not become alive. Products should be released in terms of days or weeks, not months, years as traditional. At Designveloper, we are striving to achieve that goal by constantly looking for applying new technology, new working methodology to ensure an appealing user interface, user experience high quality, and fast delivery.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
Everything takes place in-house at Designveloper. We take customers rough ideas and turn them into completed products. Steps include getting requirements, design, develop and testing.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
We focus on design, user experience, high quality, and fast delivery. The choice of our technology so far has been served the purpose of delivering the best user experience such as responsive, single-page web app, cross-platform solutions.

Design is the first thing noticeable to the user when they open a website or an app. It should be appealing, intuitive which helps users navigate the app easily.

The next thing is performance. We have created apps that serve millions of users with almost zero downtime.

What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
We constantly measure customer satisfaction by doing periodically surveys and conversations to ensure a 100% satisfaction rate. As you can check on other platforms such as Upwork, we are top-rated on their platform and our success rate is 100%.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
We have project management tools where clients can create issues. We also have an in-house chatting tool similar to Slack so that clients can communicate directly with any team members, not only the project manager or the sales representative.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We have Pay per hour, months, pay per Milestone. Usually, it’s fixed price, pay per milestone for building the MVP and after that, it’s Pay per hour to keep the project going.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
The minimum budget should be $50k, to take a team of 1 project manager, 1 BA, 1 designer, 1 frontend developer, 1 backend developer, 1 tester to complete an MVP (minimum viable product) within 2-3 months.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2020?
$50k to $600k. That’s for 2020 only. Accumulated, we have been catered projects up to $1.5M.
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
With our current growth rate of 30% per year. In the next 10 years, we would be 10 times our size in terms of revenue, human resources, projects.
