Devstars recently had the pleasure to completely redesign and build the new website for Headmasters. A successful Hair Salon chain based in London and the South East.
Improved UX to increase sales and bookings
Working alongside their marketing team, we examined existing user journeys, eliminating friction points and creating a new site structure.
UX improvements were imperative to increase bookings, sign-ups to the VIP club and awareness of offers for treatments and products.
Clean, modern design
The site was built ‘mobile-first’ but utilises beautiful full-screen images to create a great experience for desktop users.
Careful consideration was given to the typography, including an update to the font family used throughout the site. Our choice helped communicate a level of quality in service that Headmasters were keen to convey.
WordPress & WooCommerce harmony
Keeping the site with WordPress to retain much of the existing content, we built a lightweight theme using minimal plugins to optimise loading times.
On the homepage, we reduced load times by almost 60% and delivered an increase in page views of over 20% during the month alone.
Keeping WordPress for the CMS also allowed us to easily incorporate WooCommerce to handle the e-commerce elements of the site.
Reduced admin for the Headmasters team
We helped reduce admin time for the Headmasters team by using structured data within our code. Enabling Google My Business to automatically update salon opening times.
Additionally, we wrote a script to monitor and pull-in Google reviews and ratings for all 56 hair salons.
