I am the Founder and CEO of Empex Digital. I am also the chief graphic designer and developer at Empex Digital. Empex Digital is a trusted go-to full-service digital agency in Kenya that helps brands and businesses in building competent brands that win market share and achieve growth. How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
Empex Digital is different from the competitors in the fact that we are a budget company. Our services are designed to meet the highest standards of quality but at a budget each and every one of our clients can afford. We target Individual clients, SMEs, Institutions, and Corporate clients with customized industry-standard solutions designed to achieve the client’s desired goals at a cost that is customized for each client at that level of operation.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
At Empex Digital we cater to clients across the board, from Individual clients, SMEs, Institutions, and Corporate clients. Approximately 50% of our clients are repetitive, they have been with us for a long time, while the rest of them are new clients mostly coming in through referrals by our existing clients.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
At Empex Digital we specialize in Web Design & Development, Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, and Consultancy. A majority of our clients are in Web design and graphic design.
What do you find to be some of the most key factors for running a successful agency in the field of Digital Marketing?

What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a project?
- Client’s project requirement
- Size of the projects
- Time required for the project from start to finish
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients?
Once we come to terms with a client, we draw a contract with the client where the payment procedures are clearly stipulated including the terms of payment i.e 30%, or 40% or 50% down payment at the start of the project, and the rest is paid when we invoice the client at the end of the project (one the client is satisfied and approved the work).
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2020?
Given the Kenyan economy and the COVID-19 situation that came in, we were forced to adjust our costs because most clients were affected. So based on the type of project required, we had projects we went as low as Ksh.15,000 (USD150) and the highest was Ksh.40,000 (USD 400).
