We started Exit Code in 2024 because we kept watching the same pattern play out: technical founders with clear product vision, burning months and hundreds of thousands of dollars on engineering teams that moved too slowly to matter. Traditional agencies sent them junior developers supervised by project managers. Freelancers were inconsistent. Hiring senior full-time engineers took three to six months they didn't have.

The problem wasn't talent. It was leverage.

When the AI tooling wave hit, we saw a different kind of engineer emerge — not the "vibe coder" who prompts their way through features and ships fragile code, but the senior engineer who had spent years developing taste and judgment and was now operating at a completely different speed. These engineers didn't need a team around them. They were the team.

We built Exit Code to connect early-stage founders with exactly those people. Our engineers are Eastern European — deeply trained, production-hardened, and early adopters of AI-native workflows. They've shipped real systems, made real mistakes, and learned from them. They know when to use AI tooling and, more importantly, when not to. When you work with us, you get senior output at a fraction of the traditional agency cost, without the overhead of a full engineering org you're not ready to build yet.

We named the company Exit Code because that's what we help you do — exit the phase where engineering is the bottleneck. The exit code is 0. Ship the thing.
