Building a location-based cash treasure hunt app in Unity
It has been great to work with Fgfactory over the past year or so building our location-based cash treasure hunt app from scratch. During development we had many hurdles and integrations within a complex regulated environment in the UK and Fg always delivered on the brief! Very easy to communicate with the whole team and always quick to reply (even though they can be very busy). The value for money is amazing considering the rates we used to pay in the UK. During our launch we had 0 technical issues with people playing all over the country putting all the integrations to the test.

Management team and other specials.
As a co-founder, I have been part of the team since its foundation. My daily work focuses on business development, opening new service lines, and attracting new opportunities, partners, and directions. I am also always open to dialogue to share experiences, answer questions, or discuss where and how to move with game development projects.
What inspired the founding of your company, and what is the story behind its inception?
Fgfactory started as a freelance project in late 2009 / early 2010. At that time, the first iPhone was released and it was a real revolution. Everyone aimed to build applications and games for mobile devices. I did small commercial design projects, mainly for iPhone devices. The demand grew and at some point, I realized that I needed to become more than just a freelancer.
Therefore, together with a business partner, we opened a company and began to provide more services in the field of creating graphics and interfaces for mobile games, attracting new talents to the team. Gradually, we started more and more service lines and with time came to a full cycle of game development.
What are the core values and principles that drive your company's culture, and how do you ensure alignment with these values across your team?
Our values and principles have been determined over years of experience and are based on an emphasis on the team, its cohesion, transparency in interaction, the absence of a complex corporate hierarchy, and the popularization of mutual assistance and support.
We value each team member's individuality, experience, contribution to development, and desire for common goals. Thanks to the collective experience of the entire team, the coherence in work, and the dedication of each team member, we can guarantee our clients high-quality services and support in project management from the moment of first contact to the completion of the project and beyond.
Can you highlight some of the key achievements or milestones your company has accomplished since its inception?
Since our foundation and until now, we have always strived for new achievements and new goals. Thus, the company has grown from a design studio to a full-cycle development team, adding new service lines. We gradually moved towards new milestones by becoming a mobile game development team, later adding departments for the development of browser and desktop games.
Could you explain your company's business model? Do you primarily operate with an in-house team or utilize third-party vendors/outsourcing?
We work primarily with an in-house team of 50+ people, but we regularly interact with freelancers when there is a need to attract more people. Such cases occur when the volume of work increases or tight deadlines are met. In such cases, the core of the project team is always an in-house team and additional expansion is carried out from the established team of freelancers.
How does your company differentiate itself from competitors in the industry?
Fgfactory has deep expertise in developing interactive experiences and gamified solutions for the corporate segment. This includes:
Advertising activations and games;
Corporate solutions for motivating and increasing staff interaction;
Interactive experiences for exhibitions and various offline events;
Educational applications;
Visual simulations of corporate, business, or technical processes.
Besides that, a large part of our work involves assisting other game developers and publishers in creating game products for a mass audience. We act as contractors in separate stages (graphics, animation, or development) and provide full turnkey development if necessary.
How would you describe the dynamics within your team, and how do you foster collaboration and teamwork to achieve common goals?
The company's processes are set up for constant interaction of the entire team and different project teams within the work process. Working mainly remotely, we have set up a system of interaction and cooperation between company members that allows synchronization, planning, and achieving the necessary goals within the established deadlines.
We believe that teamwork, especially in remote interaction, is the standard that each team member should strive for. Of course, the company's top management always notes each employee for demonstrating their qualities, going beyond the limits, and engaging in proactive behavior, and they will not be left without attention.
What measures do you take to support the professional development and growth of your employees? Do you offer training programs or opportunities for skill enhancement?
Fgfactory has several departments, each specializing in a particular component of the overall production pipeline, including graphics, animation, design, mobile, web, and server development. From the moment of onboarding, we monitor and manage the growth of each team member's technical skills, primarily through the activities of technical and art leads in each department, as well as through analysis of the results that are performed by the management team.
Could you share a notable success story or case study that exemplifies the impact your company has had on a client's business?
For L'Oreal company, we developed a browser game to promote the company's products. The game was published on the Maybelline New York website. Based on the feedback from their Director of E-Commerce, "FgFactory brought invaluable expertise to the project, adapting well to the company's aggressive timelines and objectives. Since the game launched, the average user time spent on the website has jumped from under two minutes to about 24 minutes. Bounce rates have similarly dropped from 44% to 20%. ”
In another case developed for Chess.com, we built a series of casual chess games for children and teenagers. The games have collected more than 1 million downloads and received high user review scores.
What industries do you primarily cater to, and do you have a significant percentage of repeat clients? If so, what is the ratio of repeat clients?
The range of industries is quite distributed. About 50% is the gaming industry and the creation of entertainment products for distribution in mobile stores, web browsers or through stores for desktop games. The other 50% is evenly distributed between other industries that are relevant to the use of gamified solutions in their business processes, including:
Children and Corporate Staff Gamified Education;
Healthcare Gamification and Games;
E-commerce Gamification;
Corporate Sector Entertainment;
Online and Offline Gamified Marketing.
Our work always aims to build long-term and stable relationships with our clients. Therefore, most companies that continue creating new digital solutions collaborate with us on new projects.
What initiatives does your company undertake to foster innovation and stay at the forefront of industry trends? Do you invest in research and development projects?
In addition to the regular service package, Fgfactory invests in its own game-related products, which in the future should provide new opportunities for our clients.
At the moment, we are developing a SaaS platform focused on fast and cost-effective gamification of various processes. This platform will enable current and future clients to implement gamification mechanisms for their users quickly and with a small budget.

How has your company adapted to changes and challenges in the business landscape, and what strategies have you employed to ensure resilience and sustainability?
Our company has repeatedly adapted to changes and challenges related to the business landscape, as well as other global causes. In all cases, the key was to maintain the team, maintain efficiency and efficiency, and implement changes that would help overcome a challenge or crisis.
What payment structure do you typically follow when billing clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, or Pay per Milestone (phases, months, versions, etc.)?
The company's policy regarding the payment structure is quite flexible depending on the project and client conditions. Overall, there are two pricing models:
Fixed price for a project (milestone, month, or version)
Time-material model implies payment for working hours spent by the team on the project (milestone, month, or version).
However, we try to use something in the middle, a mixed version between the fixed price and the Time-material model.
We provide the client with a fixed budget range that cannot be changed if new tasks don’t appear or current ones are not revised. Then, we move within the established framework. So our clients:
Know the minimum and maximum budget for the project;
Pay for the completed work depending on the scope of work completed by the team over a period of time.
Do you accept projects that meet your basic budget requirements? If yes, what is the minimum budget requirement? If not, what is the minimum budget you have worked with in the past?
We are open to any projects. Usually, art, animation or design projects start from 5,000 USD, and small development projects start from 20,000 USD.
Can you provide an overview of the price range (minimum and maximum) of the projects your company worked on in 2023?
In 2023, the company's projects ranged from 5,000 USD for small, short-term projects to 300,000 USD for full-cycle development projects on Unity or Unreal Engine.
However, long-term projects that started earlier, were in progress during 2023, and are still in development have larger budgets.

In 10 years, we plan to develop our representation in more local markets so that we can provide services and create first-class products for our customers.
