The Story
The FUNetix 12-Hour Reading App is an initiative of the American Youth Literacy Foundation that helps new and struggling readers, and especially underprivileged children, overcome learning challenges and learn to read English. The app uses a patented system that simulates a one-on-one tutoring experience so that children can learn virtually and independently even in homes where no adult support is available. 

Looking to see if Google Ads was the right long-term growth channel for them, FUNetix teamed with Galactic Fed to raise brand awareness and expand the reach of their free reading programs.

The Story
Garbo is a new kind of online consumer background check application. They help people to identify red flags, including having a history of harm, through custom technology, tools, and educational resources.

Looking to increase their new account creations and email sign-ups, Garbo reached out to Galactic Fed for help with Google Ads.

The Strategy
The Google Ads strategy focused on three key goals: Building the brand’s name, improving the client’s competitiveness, and getting more traffic from non-branded queries.

Galactic Fed’s team recommended targeting audiences from specific segments that have shown interest or affinity to the products and services similar to Garbo’s. This approach helped to capture users more likely to convert on the website.

The team continuously tweaked the keywords campaigns targeted to ensure optimal results. This included keeping a growing list of negative keywords that helped to narrow down targeting for best performance.

The Strategy
The Galactic Fed team conducted a thorough audit of the current email efforts to identify areas of improvement. Based on the findings, the team suggested a full makeover of the design and copywriting approach and A/B testing new creatives to gain audience insights. Another recommendation was to add personalization and a double opt-in feature to increase the trustworthiness of the emails and improve deliverability.

The implementation phase began with an IP warming campaign that helped establish a positive sender reputation and increase email volume. Next, Galactic Fed developed a new approach to email content that included:

Launching a welcome sequence to engage new application subscribers.
Leveraging Trustpilot reviews in emails to enhance credibility.
Introducing a Re-Engagement Sequence to target subscribers inactive for 180+ days.
Creating one-off emails featuring engaging content to build brand awareness, nurture leads, and instill trust.
Incorporating entertaining elements (including a quiz) to better connect with and understand the audience.
A pivotal strategic move by Galactic Fed involved ensuring that only cleaned and verified contacts were added to the account. Monthly list cleanups were also implemented to maintain optimal deliverability performance.
