Telecommunication

Robi Axiata Limited is the 2nd largest mobile network operator in Bangladesh. Robi first commenced operation in 1997 with the brand name ‘AKTEL’. In 2010 the company was re-branded to ‘Robi’ and the company changed its name to Robi Axiata Limited. It has some other subsidiaries: Airtel Bangladesh, RedDot Digital Limited, Bangladesh Infrastructure Company Limited.

Problem Statement

Before e-approval, this was paper-based approval procedures. User need to apply it through the paper then the request used to go to various desks and after all the authorization user would collect the overview. Practically their information team and HR department were facing lots of difficulties like which appliance they require to get access, level of access, number of privileges user need to get access, pursuing complex access, complex level of approval. Ahead of the paper-based system, there was no visibility of the approval matrix. Admin couldn't see who are using their license at a glance. System had operational inefficiency. Robi was peering for a customized website for different motives. The site title should be E-approval, Robi portal, ITS. These are all their innermost site where they can serve several services to their clients.

Solutions

Using SharePoint workflow system automated the full requisition flow. The level of approver is dynamic here. Admin can add and remove them. Here system maintain an approval history with all the explanations like the reason why the approver approved this, the date, comments, approver details, status etc. In addition after an interval, users need to renew the approval if needed. If anyone changes the department they can do an ownership transfer. If anyone wishes to take off the job, they can abolish their authorization.

Outcomes

After the implementation of e-approval, their operational transparency has been boosted. The functional tooling cost has been moderated.

In 2010 the company was re-branded to ‘Robi’ and the company changed its name to Robi Axiata Limited. It has some other subsidiaries: Airtel Bangladesh, RedDot Digital Limited, Bangladesh Infrastructure Company Limited.

Problem Statement

Robi Axiata Limited was looking forward to making their intranet portal as a solution that has modern SharePoint capabilities and features. Till then, they were being provided solutions on the SharePoint On Premise platform. The task was to migrate the portal from SharePoint On Premise to SharePoint Online.

Solutions

We migrated the portal from SharePoint On Premise to SharePoint Online. We replaced their existing classic web parts with modern client web parts and SharePoint workflows with Microsoft Flows. We also developed SharePoint online branding using SharePoint Framework (SPFx) extensions which is a new approach for customizing modern SharePoint Online sites and pages. The application supports web version and doesn’t have device restrictions.

Outcomes

The solution was developed for Intranet Portal for the simplification of people’s collaboration, findings and information sharing for retaining knowledge and for better organizational performance. With this application, our client have got a modern SharePoint Online portal for their organization which is well-functioning, cost reducible, rich in features and more easier to integrate with both Microsoft and third-party applications.

Banking

The International Finance Investment and Commerce Bank Limited is a Bangladeshi private commercial bank. It was set up at the instance of the Government in 1976 as a joint venture between the Government of Bangladesh and Sponsors in the private sector with the objective of working as a finance company within the country and setting up joint venture banks or financial institutions aboard.

Problem Statement

IFIC Bank Limited was looking for a customized application for managing documents of their customers under the SharePoint On Premise environment. Till then, they were using default apps and features of SharePoint such as lists, workflows, libraries etc. The task was to bring the SharePoint solution platform for the organization up-to-speed by replacing the usage of default features with customized web parts.

Solutions

We restructured the entire system by installing the updated 2013 version of SharePoint On Premise across multiple servers for a three-tier farm consists of a front-end web server, an application server, and a database server. We developed custom web parts, timer jobs and console applications to make our client's system robust, efficient and user friendly. We also made the approval process fully dynamic. The application only supports web version.

Outcomes

With this application, our client have automated their organization’s document management process. Branch users can crate customers, update their information for different type of processes and send to the supervisors for approval through the application. Our application allows the bank to store all customer's information recorded, including the version control and the complete life cycle of files, in such a way that audits become a more agile and efficient procedure that minimizes the presence of errors. The top six impacts of the application include the followings: Reduced Storage Space, Enhanced Security, Improved Regulatory Compliance, Easier Retrieval, Better Collaboration, Better Backup and Disaster Recovery.

Problem Statement

Lockdowns are now over and the world around us is slowly and steadily waking up to altered realities and a new way of life. Yet, the dreaded fear of infection is far from over, it is in fact only getting worse day after day.Inspite of these palpable fears, some job profiles need their employees to work physically, not just virtually. Not only employees but employers as well are worried about the health and safety of all those who work for them. Manual monitoring can only go so far and comes ridden with its own set of loopholes and misses. This puts everyone at unnecessary risk.In case of schools, the peril in opening up, is even greater. Children usually suffer from low immunity making them highly susceptible to the virus. Others who due to close working environments are equally susceptible are our medical warriors, patients admitted in hospitals, allied service providers, government, police, military and para-military personnel. How then, can organisations ensure that their attendees are hale & hearty and symptom free at all times? This is where Actialert comes to the rescue for all stakeholders.

Outcomes

One of our clients, a telecom company that maintains Diesel Generators and diesel refilling at cell phone towers, was facing significant penalties due to alleged diesel theft reported by their customer. The customer claimed discrepancies in the delivered fuel quantities, leading to financial losses and damaged business relationships. ImpleVista was approached to investigate the issue and find a solution.

Solutions

ImpleVista took a proactive approach by visiting the customer's office and thoroughly analyzing the available data. Our team of data experts employed advanced analytics techniques to identify potential discrepancies and root causes. Through meticulous examination, we discovered two key factors contributing to the reported diesel theft: 1. Faulty Diesel Generator Readings: We identified inaccuracies in the readings recorded by the customer's diesel generator, which were causing discrepancies in the reported fuel consumption. 2. Human Errors in Data Recording: Our analysis uncovered instances of human errors in data recording during the fuel consumption tracking process, leading to inconsistent records and incorrect calculations. ImpleVista devised a comprehensive plan to address these issues and provide our client with the necessary evidence to dispute the allegations of diesel theft.

Outcomes

By leveraging our expertise in data analysis and addressing the identified issues, ImpleVista achieved the following outcomes: 1. Cost Savings: Our client successfully refuted the diesel theft allegations and avoided substantial financial penalties. The accurate data analysis revealed that the reported discrepancies were primarily due to faulty readings and human errors, proving the innocence of our client. 2. Rebuilt Trust and Relationships: Resolving the issue positively contributed to rebuilding trust and fostering stronger relationships between our client and their customer. The transparent and evidence-based approach helped restore confidence and collaboration, ensuring continued business partnerships. 3. Process Improvement: a) As a result of our investigation, the customer implemented corrective measures to rectify the faulty diesel generator readings and improve data recording accuracy. b) ImpleVista built a mobile application that could track diesel inflow and out flow to the cell phone tower using GPS and photos taken from mobile application. This led to enhanced efficiency, transparency and reliability in their fuel consumption tracking process.
