Great example of quality for mobile development team

One of our customers asked us to create a solution for him. Solution consists of web part with front-end and back-end, and mobile application of iOs and Android.

In my team we have no native mobile developers, so I asked ImproveIT to support in this sphere. ImproveIT mobile dev team was responsible for the whole mobile app part: from architecture to deploy.

The main goal of the project was to create mobile application for mental health control. Users can put their emotion in the app and solution also fixes time and place of emotion. This information is accumulating in the back-end and user can show the map of his emotions to the doctor.

From the very beginning it was one Android developer and one iOs developer. Guys were Middle+ level with good English and great communication skills. At the end of the project Manual tester was added. Few times during the project we also asked to do some design work.

Applications were done in time and in the budget. There was limitation in the release date because end customer need to present solution for potential investors.

All was done with great quality. App is still on MVP stage, I hope in future, after the customer will get funds, we will continue to develop new functionality.

The team was very flexible. They react to any changes immediately and help us work toward the project goal.

There is always a way to improve, but this guys are close to perfection.

ImproveIT Solutions provides expert software engineering services and is mostly approached for dedicated software development teams. Our portfolio includes software solutions that are used in 75 countries - from simple mobile apps to enterprise fintech systems. As a Co-Founder and CEO of the company, I am mostly responsible for high-level management regarding the achievement of short-term and long-term business goals.
What is the story behind starting this company?
Everything started from our professional friendship with Taras Chornyi, Co-Founder of ImproveIT Solutions. Working in the industry we gathered profound experience in the fields of software development, management & sales operations and from this perspective, we got a solid understanding of how these kinds of services should be provided at an excellent level. And we also saw some imperfections in the existing market. So we naturally wanted to fill this gap and сared to create a company with a different set of values such as transparency and excellence at work.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We created a strong in-house team which gives us the ability to provide the requested service in a short period of time (1 day, if needed) and cover all the client’s needs throughout the full software development life cycle. 80% of our engineering team have between 4 and 12 years of experience in commercial software development.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
First of all, we don’t just provide developers, we act as a technical partner who always tries to see a bigger picture of what we are building. We provide technical consultation with suggestions and points of improvement. In case of a lack of expertise in our client’s in-house team, we are ready to fill the gaps, advise strategically in terms of product development and roadmap.

Second of all, our clients value that we are very flexible in everything: discussing terms & conditions, engagement model, project sizes we take over, ability to promptly provide almost any technology present on the market (we can just hire a certain specialist needed for the project). And we always try to find and offer a solution that will fit into the client’s budget.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
The sectors we typically serve are wellness and well-being, financial industry, hospitality, printing, and retail. ImproveIT also has a number of clients in healthcare, HR solutions, and extremely innovative wearables.

More than half of our customers are not only repetitive, they never go away:) We are proud that a lot of our first clients have been working with us for years and recommend our services to their partners. So nearly 30% of our new customers come from these references.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
There is a big demand for software development dedicated teams and custom software development. It’s mostly web/SaaS and mobile app development. Within the last 1.5 years, we got multiple requests for delivery apps development and other kinds of inquiries regarding business digitalization.
What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
According to the reviews, it’s 4.8 on Clutch and 5 on GoodFirms. To measure our customer satisfaction rate we prefer personal conversation rather than sending questionnaires etc. We have a dedicated Account management department whose primary goal is to work with customers’ satisfaction, needs and requirements, manage their expectations. Our account managers are in regular contact with clients via video calls and chats, they are constantly asking for feedback and areas for improvement during the whole cooperation process to make sure we provide excellent service.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
Depending on the customer’s needs we adapt and modify our processes. As mentioned above, every client has their own dedicated account manager to take care of all issues and queries. They build professional and even friendly relationships with customers and staying open and approachable is in fact the best support system.

In addition, the co-founders and top management are always reachable for all clients. Basically, every customer can email me personally or even call my mobile, if there is a need or a topic for discussion.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
Currently, we offer two payment schemes: Time & material (Pay per hour) and Fixed monthly payment per developer.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
The minimum budget we worked with was 2500 € for a small project with great cooperation potential. In general, we remain flexible and besides budget, it can be a promising long-term partnership, technological complexity, or a bold idea that seems relevant and interesting for us to implement.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2020?
The engagement with the minimum budget was for one part-time developer at 2,500 € per month. The maximum budget is hard to measure - we have teams of 8-10 people that have been working for the same client for over 3 years, so the budget increases every month :)
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
So far we don’t plan to grow exponentially, but rather organically. We will continue to implement and adjust our internal processes to our gradual growth and best western business practices. It’s more important for us than just growing revenue or headcount. With good processes and business practices comes success, and with success comes organic growth;) So in the next 10 years, we would still be widely present in the EU and US hi-tech markets, not only in terms of customers but our own offices as well. And of course, we’ll continue to stay on the verge of the newest and most popular technologies, as we’ve been doing so far with e.g. Flutter, Kotlin, SwiftUI, Vue.js, etc.
