Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.
Mayabytes was established with the purpose of creating a digital design firm where we partner with clients by use of creative art and design in today’s digital world.
We add wings to our client’s brands through sparkling ideas, holistic branding concepts, and extraordinary handcrafted designs. We collaborate with companies to create remarkable digital experiences. Headquartered in Houston, Texas. USA, we cater to clients all around the world.
As a CEO, my role is to provide a vision and manage the company’s overall progress which includes delegating and directing agendas, driving profitability, managing the company’s organizational structure & strategy, and communicating with the board of directors.
What is the story behind starting this company?
Mayabytes spun off from its sister company Mayatax, working on a project for Mayatax. The project never made its way to completion, however, a couple of clients who had needs for creative designers were willing to take a chance on us, and offered us their business. A few months later, we ended up with several new clients and eventually set up a business development group to help grow the business even more. We felt that there was a need for an effortless graphic design agency that could innovate splendid quality visuals at market-competitive prices. Mayabytes, which is now recognized for its customer-centric design approach. Mayabytes has seen an amazing journey and we continually are seeing growth in this industry and also here at our firm.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We have an excellent team of in-house qualified creative thinkers, passionate designers, and skilled developers. Our employees have become our identity, our strength, and our reason to be known as the best.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
The importance of building a professional relationship with our client and going the extra mile and our emphasis on the quality of the work are the basic points that make us stand out.
We do not treat our clients as a stream of revenue. In fact, what we usually quote to our clients is “we want to work with you not for you” as we treat them as equals. That is why the majority of our business growth is caused by client recommendations, which is a great credibility sign of our performance. Our human resources recruitment and retention process also help us differentiate from our competitors.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
UI/UX, Web Development, Graphic Designing, Animation, and Mobile Application Development are the areas we work in, as stated earlier we emphasize building a professional relationships and that is why around 50% of our clients are repetitive and not only do they bring more works but refer more clients to us as well.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
UI/UX and Graphic design are the prime services for which the client approaches us, then comes the web development. We stepped into the animation and mobile apps arena in 2022 so the numbers are low as compared to other areas in this domain but due to our credibility in the market we are getting more and more projects in this area.
What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
We rate ourselves at 9.9 on a scale of 1-10(10 being best). If a client is satisfied with our services they will return, and this would normally show the current client satisfaction level. Many of our customers are repetitive and in our 6 years of business, very few clients have stopped business with us. Also, mostly the clients who have left were due to policy changes within their company or because their requirements changed.
To ensure that customers’ needs and requirements are properly catered to, we rely on extensive communication and sharing the progress with our clients on a constant basis, this ensures the satisfaction level of our clients and helps us in delivering the desired results.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
Clients can reach us by phone or email, we are available from 6 am to 6 pm Central Standard time and are glad to assist our clients in any way we can. We also use JIRA for internal tracking of projects and internal communications.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We are pretty flexible in payment and follow all of the structures mentioned above, it all depends on what the client feels comfortable following and we make it work.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
The minimum budget that we go for is around $5K, but in the case of a returning client, we do go below that if required.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2021?
As we are comparatively newer at that time it was between $5,000 to $32,000 per project however in 2022 we broke our maximum a couple of times to around $50,000.
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
We see ourselves as the go-to firm for creative digital design. Although ambitious I can see us getting there. We will be the top designing agencies in the US with more diversification in the areas at the 10-year mark.
