Olearis Executive Interview

Kindly share your feedback on how GoodFirms has been doing so far in increasing your visibility among potential clients.
We had registered a profile at GoodFirms a long time ago but didn’t pay much attention to it for some while. Several months ago we decided to upgrade the profile by updating the portfolio and adding more other info. Surprisingly, recently we received the first qualified lead, who confirmed they found us using the filter at Goodfirms.
We are open to closer collaboration with GoodFirms and looking forward to hearing any tips that would increase our company’s visibility among new clients.
Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.
Meet Olearis, the IT software company based in Kharkiv, Ukraine. We specialize in crafting cutting-edge software solutions for various industries.
As the CEO of Olearis, I ensure that we consistently uphold high standards, maintain excellent communication, and share our extensive experience with our customers.
What is the story behind starting this company?
Since 2013, Olearis has emerged from a professional team within a larger company that once held the #1 position on the AppStore. Following the acquisition of this company by Google, Olearis embarked on its journey, harnessing the best techniques and processes we had previously employed.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
Primarily, we operate in-house, cherishing the office atmosphere and valuing in-person communication. However, we also adapt to modern trends, recognizing the evolving nature of the world. Consequently, we possess extensive experience in collaborating with remote workers and have effectively addressed the typical challenges associated with remote work at the process level.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
We're more than just a development agency; we have our products and have traversed every phase that every product must undergo, starting from the initial idea and extending to marketing, sales, and user support. We are always eager to share this valuable experience to contribute to our customers' success.

On the other hand, we're well-prepared to tackle highly complex and challenging tasks, thanks to our high technical proficiency and extensive experience, enabling us to deliver world-class products.

Furthermore, we genuinely care about our clients' businesses. We don't merely provide services for hire; we embrace a partnership mentality where our customers' success becomes synonymous with our own success.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
We highly value our relationships with our customers and approach their products with the same care as if they were our own. Transparency and honesty are fundamental values we uphold, which is why we proudly maintain a repeat customer rate of over 70%. Many of our clients have transitioned from one-time contracts with fixed scopes to long-term partnerships for dedicated development and maintenance over the years.
Furthermore, our clients are consistently satisfied with our services and are always willing to provide us with recommendations.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
One of our most common requests involves taking a high-level customer idea and turning it into a successful working product. This can encompass a mobile, web, or desktop application, complete with a scalable, secure backend, and the option of integrating IoT devices into the system. We guide the entire process through the following stages:
  • Analysis: We begin by thoroughly analyzing the customer's idea, conducting market research, assessing competitors, and developing a monetization strategy, among other considerations.
  • Design: Our next step is to create both the UI/UX design and engineering diagrams for the entire solution, ensuring a comprehensive and user-friendly design.
  • Development: We then proceed to build the product iteratively, with the customer actively involved at every stage to ensure their vision is realized and their feedback is incorporated.
  • Release: Once development is complete, we orchestrate the actual product release, ensuring a smooth and successful launch.
  • Support: We provide ongoing support, offering assistance with marketing strategies and usage analytics to optimize the product's performance.
  • Evolution: Our commitment extends beyond the initial release as we continue to work on evolving the product further, adapting it to changing market conditions and user needs to ensure its long-term success.
What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
Our exceptional customer satisfaction rate of 100% can be attributed to one fundamental reason: effective communication. We prioritize listening and open discussions with our clients. We adapt and customize our processes to suit each customer's unique needs. Furthermore, we actively engage our clients in significant product decisions, ensuring they have a say in the direction while we handle the technical aspects. As a result, the likelihood of customer dissatisfaction is extremely low, as we address any potential issues early on, eliminating friction in the process.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
We operate using two primary approaches:
  • Ongoing Maintenance: In this model, we establish an agreement that includes a specific number of development hours per month. We allocate the necessary resources and provide a guaranteed reaction time to address any maintenance needs or issues promptly.
  • New Implementation Requests: When a customer requires additional features or functionalities for their product, we engage in thorough discussions to understand the requirements. We then scope out the project, provide estimates, and work within predefined timeframes and budgets that are agreed upon in advance to implement the new features seamlessly.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
Our payment structures are designed to accommodate various project types, and we offer flexibility to suit our clients' preferences. The most common payment structures include:
  • Monthly Payments: Typically employed for dedicated development projects, clients make payments at the beginning of the next month based on the actual hours spent during the previous month.
  • Pay per Milestone: This approach is well-suited for Fixed Price or Time and Material projects with specific budget constraints. We usually request a pre-payment of 10-30% upfront. We then break down the project scope into milestones and receive payments upon the successful delivery of each milestone.
  • Pay per Feature: This option is commonly used for semi-active projects. When a feature request is made, we estimate it and seek approval for the estimation. Payment is then received upon the successful delivery of the requested feature.
We aim to provide payment structures that align with our clients' project needs and preferences.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
We prioritize flexibility and always assess a project's growth potential. If we identify substantial growth opportunities, we may consider taking on the project at a reduced price. However, as a general guideline, we typically focus on projects with budgets exceeding $20,000. This approach allows us to provide the best value and expertise to our clients while ensuring the sustainability and success of the projects we undertake.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2022?
In 2022, our project price range varied from as low as $10 to as high as $150. We maintain this diverse pricing approach to accommodate a wide spectrum of project sizes and budgets, allowing us to serve a broad clientele with our expertise and services.
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
Our long-term vision is clear: over the next decade, we aim to see the majority of our current customers evolve into multi-million or even billion-dollar companies, with our assistance playing a pivotal role in their success. To achieve this, we are committed to remaining at the forefront of technology, user experience, and engineering processes. Our dedication to innovation and excellence will continue to drive our clients' growth and our own success in the ever-evolving tech landscape.

Retail

A platform to rent event items

The idea behind this is to connect event industry renters and lenders. Where you, as a lender, can earn extra income as well as help others make their visions a reality. And as a renter, get connected to the best decor in your city.

The Rogo team decided to change the development team because they no longer trusted the previous one. And we had to prove through our hard work and dedication that we were trustworthy.

We got this project at a stage where another company had done most of the functionality, but the client wasn't happy. So, we had to test every corner of the app, fix everything that could be fixed, and implement some new features. Many developers will tell you that it's easier to rewrite the entire project, but we couldn't afford that. So, we had to work with what we got. And we developed an admin panel for our client to control everything in the app.
