Pocket App

Our process:
Pocket App and Optime Group initiated the discovery phase to kick off the project, focusing on identifying the specific users the app would serve and clarifying its functionality requirements. Optimes primary need was an interactive job board that would allow candidates to easily access and apply for relevant roles. Their broader ambition was to automate and streamline various established processes, enhancing productivity for both the company and its partners, while creating a more seamless experience for job seekers and employers. After crafting wireframes and prototypes that adhered to Optimes brand guidelines, Pocket App proceeded to the development phase. The frontend was built using React Native and other JavaScript libraries, while the backend was developed as a bespoke PHP Laravel-based service with an appropriate database and framework structure, ensuring the app could deliver on all the functionalities outlined in the discovery phase.

The results:
Pocket App initially released the app through a soft launch, allowing a select group of users to provide valuable feedback on the user experience and enabling the team to thoroughly assess the apps functionality. This phase was critical in identifying any areas for improvement before a wider release. After the soft launch proved successful, the app was made publicly available. While anyone can download the app, only users who are pre-registered through the CMS are able to log in and access the apps full suite of features. This ensures that only verified users benefit from the apps functionalities. Pocket App continues to work closely with Optime as a long-term partner, regularly collaborating on improvements, rolling out updates, and introducing new features to enhance the overall user experience and optimize the apps performance. This ongoing partnership ensures that the app remains a dynamic, evolving solution tailored to the needs of both Optime and its users.

My Footprint revolves around the concept of challenges that aim to inspire users to make micro behavioural changes. Co-creation has been an important pillar for success ensuring the app is inclusive and accessible but also relevant to the times of living. The app is built with React Native for its versatility and the ability to deploy on both iOS and Android with a single codebase.

Our process:
My Footprint is a unique exercise in behavioural change that answers real human needs and supports people to make a positive impact in the fight for our world. Employing behavioural change tactics, we offered a variety of challenges across different topics and effort levels, all geared to gamifying the creation of new habits that are practical for all the family. The content is underpinned by storytelling and relevant articles that shows the impact WWF is having and the part supporters are playing. Social sharing is encouraged to help amplify the message and galvanise a movement.

The results:
The MVP was fast to market, launching in time for the David Attenborough documentary alignment. The engagement has been high since launch, with a combined number of downloads currently at 200k across the App Store and Play Store. The user have completed a total of 160k challenges to date an encouraging indication of behavioural change across the almost 100k registered on the application. The app is an effective channel for supporting WWFs strategic partners, with challenges supporting sustainability initiatives, such as earth hour. The app has been featured on the App Store several times in relevant lists and collections and has won several awards for its design and impact within a short period of time.

A key component in the initial stages of the project was the execution of user research and engagement with industry partners to validate the platform’s concept and functionality prior to its implementation. This process was carried out through a series of workshops, research activities, and analytical assessments, which aimed to identify the optimal approach for developing the Minimum Viable Product (MVP). Another core requirement for the platform was the flexibility of the Content Management System. Pocket App created a CMS which plays a critical role in enabling the TDS Charitable Foundation to manage and update the platform’s dynamic content ensuring that the system remains responsive to the needs of tenants and adaptable to the evolving landscape of dispute resolution.

Pocket App delivered a comprehensive Dechra CMS with key features including vet invite and management, CMS user management, and top-level analytics on anonymised user data, providing administrative control and insights to optimise app performance. In alignment with the interactive Vet CMS prototype, Pocket App also developed the Vet CMS and established APIs to enable seamless data exchange between the Mobile App, Dechra CMS, and Vet CMS. Additionally, Pocket App deployed the backend infrastructure on Dechra’s existing cloud services for both UAT and production environments, ensuring a scalable and secure platform. To enhance functionality, Pocket App integrated third-party solutions for push notifications and transactional emails, leveraging Dechra’s existing accounts to streamline communication and improve user engagement.
