Executive Interview of PSD Webdesigns
Tarun Soni
Owner
Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
I am Tarun Soni, and I am an owner at PSD Webdesigns. I graduated in Information Technology, and by profession, I am a front end and eCommerce developer too.
My company PSD Web designs, started in 2019, and we at PSD Webdesigns provide services to eCommerce merchants to help them grow online and earn. We also help clients in starting their startup business by providing valuable information. We not only do designing and development, but we also do SEO. We believe in delivering organic traffic to our clients so that they spend less and get more.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing an ecommerce app.
While designing or developing an eCommerce store, we focus on providing SEO friendly design to them, well structured, optimized coded, and last but not least, page speed. By Google, it is cleared that a store with excellent page speed gets a good ranking in Google, so we follow the Google rules and build the store according to it. We also focus that our HTML structure is valid; it will help our client to grow in search engines.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of an ecommerce app?
We take the deadline very seriously given by clients, and we work according to it so that we can deliver the work before the deadline. Regarding efforts in terms of time, we usually provide one weak time frame to clients for development. Every platform is different; some provide back end access, and some don't like Bigcommerce and Shopify. If client’s is on an open-source platform like PHP, then time frame changes, but for platforms like Bigcommerce and Shopify, it takes one week to complete the development.
What is your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/outsourcing?
We have very experienced team who can deliver the work as per client needs. Our business model is very much simple, gather the complete information from the client before starting the job, discuss regarding the requirements, whether it’s possible or not, and then start working on it.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
As I mentioned, our business model is simple, provide value to clients by giving quality work to them. I believe that a business model only is successful if the client is getting value from it. For us, it means offering excellent results in search engines and achieving goals mentioned by the client. So by keeping all these factors in mind, we work and deliver.
What industries do you cater to? Are your clients repetitive?
We almost work on all industries, but we receive the projects more of the Fashion, Jewellery, and automobile industry. Yes, my clients are repetitive, and that is my company policy too. Provide quality work so that they won’t go to any other development company.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for an ecommerce application?
There are so many parameters to be considered before starting the business. The first most crucial parameter is security; that is, how secure the platform is? It’s not worth it if you are getting everything at less price, but there are security issues. So, we suggest our clients to be on either on Bigcommerce or Shopify because till now, we haven’t had any security issues from either of these platforms. The second parameter is the downtime. It’s very much essential to know the platform’s downtime. In this competitive world, every company is focusing more on this. It hurts the clients if their customer is placing the order, and suddenly, the stores down. The shorter the downtime is, the more clients are on that platform.
Which platform do you suggest your clients to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Magento, Shopify, Bigcommerce etc) and why?
As we are Bigcommerce and Shopify experts, so we suggest our client’s to be on either of these platforms because both the platform are excellent. They both have a good support system, less downtime, and more secure.
Which Content Management System do you prefer to use (Wordpress, Jumla, Drupal etc)?
For an informative site, we choose Wordpress because it has everything that client wants. We use Wordpress either for informative sites and blogging.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of an ecommerce application?
Client’s requirement: If the client has different requirements, it means new functionalities or new design for each page in eCommerce. So it would cost more to them. It costs more to them because each element will be discussed in the team and with the client. This means more time allotment and then after that design, redesign, and final for development.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We work on both fixed prices and hourly rates. We usually suggest client provide us the complete information so we can grow through all in one go and give the fixed quote on it.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
In this competitive world, I believe each client is significant to us, so we take projects that are closer to our budgets. I believe once the clients receive excellent quality work from us so they won’t go to any new development company. So one can say, stick with the same clients for the long term.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2018?
We also take the project of $2000 or plus. We delivered the project of $3000 USD in 2019.
What do you think is the future of the ecommerce industry?
As people are moving more towards online shopping, so the future of eCommerce industry will be awesome. People are getting everything they want, and from anywhere they want.
