Objective

We were initially entrusted with a comprehensive Migration project. This substantial task involved the migration of millions of records and bespoke development, which had been progressively implemented on Magento 1. Our primary objective during the migration to Magento 2 was to ensure the seamless functioning of all these features. This included bespoke integration with their EPOS system, warehouse management system, as well as the CRM and Finance department.

Furthermore, we were tasked with ensuring that the SEO remained unaffected. We were asked to devise a strategy to ensure that we had appropriate plans in place for the migration.

We are now celebrating our fifth successful year in partnership with Temptations Gifts as their technical partner. We have consistently been on their preferred list of suppliers, which is a testament to our expertise in ecommerce. This enduring relationship is a true endorsement of our commitment and proficiency.

Challenges

One of the primary challenges is the migration of vast amounts of data, which includes millions of records and bespoke developments. Ensuring the seamless transition of these features during migration, especially from platforms like Magento 1 to Magento 2, can be quite complex. Additionally, integrating various systems such as EPOS, warehouse management, CRM, and Finance departments requires meticulous planning and execution. Another significant challenge is maintaining the effectiveness of SEO during these transitions. Devising a robust strategy to ensure minimal disruption to SEO rankings is crucial. Lastly, establishing and maintaining a strong partnership with clients over the years, while consistently delivering high-quality service, can be demanding.

Wowcher Ltd is the second largest British e-commerce deal of the day site in the UK and Ireland.

The site allows subscribers access to products and services from local merchants. It serves 52 cities around the UK and Ireland. Founded in 2009 by Nicholas Brummitt, Wowcher currently has a user-base of roughly 10 million members.

Objective
Wowcher approached us with an exciting project to expand into new markets, with a tight deadline for launch. As part of this initiative, they wanted to ensure that their existing system would serve as the primary source for all information displayed on the website, including products and deals. Our task was to enhance the middleware to ensure seamless data flow between systems.

 We also had to ensure that members could independently access and modify product information, subject to approval by the Wowcher team before it goes live. This was crucial to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the information on the website. As eCommerce professionals, we understood the importance of these requirements and were fully committed to delivering on them.

Challenges
Implementing a new system or modifying an existing one in the eCommerce sector can present several challenges. One of the primary challenges is ensuring seamless data integration between different systems. This requires a robust middleware solution that can handle large volumes of data and ensure its accurate and timely transfer. Another challenge is the need for a user-friendly interface that allows members to independently access and modify product information.

This requires careful design and testing to ensure ease of use without compromising security. Additionally, implementing a review and approval process for changes can be complex, requiring clear communication channels and efficient workflows. Lastly, the tight deadlines often associated with such projects add an extra layer of pressure, making efficient project management crucial.
