AI Software Development Company

Softblues is a London-based AI consultancy and Google Cloud Partner, established in 2014. We help enterprises deploy production-grade AI systems that transform how they operate, from intelligent automation to custom AI agents.

Our work spans four specialist verticals: AI for HR and Recruitment, Voice AI for customer operations, AI-powered E-commerce, and Enterprise AI platforms using Google Gemini. We build on Google Cloud infrastructure (Vertex AI, Cloud Run, Document AI) and integrate best-in-class tools where they add value.

What sets us apart is our consultative approach. We start with paid Discovery to understand your business deeply before writing a line of code. We then architect, build, and maintain AI systems designed for production, not demos.

Recent work includes an HR Tech platform achieving 90% accuracy in AI-powered candidate analysis, a clinical research data synthesis tool that compressed months of work into weeks, and a Voice AI system handling 24/7 customer support with 97% accuracy across 8 specialised agents.

We work as long-term partners, not project vendors. Our typical engagement is a dedicated AI team embedded with your business for 12+ months, combining senior AI engineers with domain expertise specific to your industry.

Headquartered in Covent Garden, London. Team across the UK and EU.

Sapone.com.ua, an eCommerce store for ingredients of handmade cosmetics with a blog, ensuring tech support and SEO optimization service

Back in 2008, I was looking for a reliable technical vendor to develop and support an online retail shop of ingredients for cosmetics manufacturing. The project was aimed at providing high standards of service and best practices for working with a narrow segment of clients. It was an eCommerce project from scratch, starting from bare development, content platform adjustment, SEO optimization and initiation of the first sales. It required careful business planning, creation of the unique web design and all the UI/UX elements, development of the customized features and functions according to my requirements.
I also needed full tech support of the project in the future, including server solutions updates, manager training and support.

Regarding their work, I can say that I am happy with our cooperation. The team and all the workflow processes are all smooth and convenient for me. Thanks to the quality of its fulfillment and careful attention to details, I didn’t have to worry about other processes. I can say that our cooperation has been and still is based on trust.

Currently, we’re refactoring a store by moving to more up-to-date technology and design with SoftBlues in September 2019 and this stage is still in progress.

A PWA for internal HR management

We’ve hired SoftBlues to develop a tech solution to automate and monitor the operational and processes all over the company.
Some of the essential HR processes needed to be scaled, so we’ve hired SoftBlues to create a PWA that will:
manage the human resources in the whole group (nearly 300 people)
manage workflow and personnel
distribute tasks and track performance

We picked SoftBlues for cooperation after a detailed SWOT analysis of the candidates that we found online. The SoftBlues team picked up our vision very quickly, have asked all the detailed questions about the product, and overall demonstrated both tech and business expertise. In August 2019, SoftBlues started the PWA development with the priorly planned release in March 2020.

We appreciate their work, as they demonstrated a very proactive approach and engagement in the project. We liked the way they established smart budgeting with no additional actions that could be seen as overrated.
The structure of our workflow with SoftBlues, the speed, and communication patterns were more than we expected. We consider this approach to be a top-notch attitude today and essential, especially when working remotely.

As the project is ongoing, we can say that all the milestones of our project have been completed on time so far. Overall, we have found a trustworthy tech partner that we can rely upon and feel safe that everything goes according to the predetermined plan and enable us to achieve our business goals.

FieldBI - An innovation platform for agro-company management

We’ve hired SoftBlues as our technology partner to automate some of the essential business processes in our company so that we can optimize our costs and improve efficiency. SoftBlues was given the task of creating a custom platform that could effectively manage all our major operations such as:
managing the land registry
obtaining geo-data on land
tracking soil fertility
analyzing crops using images captured by drones
managing personnel
distribution and task performance

The platform has a strategic meaning for the development of our company and we’re planning not only to apply it to our company processes but also to promote it as a product to our counterparts. SoftBlues has a very product-oriented approach. They listened to our requirements thoroughly, asked numerous questions and provided us with
a few useful insights into user experience. They’re proactive and at the same time they seem to allocate the project’s budget wisely. Everything goes to the predetermined plan and we feel safe in terms of our short-term and long-term business goals achievement.

We workflow is well-structured. The teams demonstrate a high level of responsibility at every stage of our cooperation. We defined our project milestones and all the project’s stages have been completed on time so far. We conduct everyday meetings and run two week sprints followed by retrospectives. The team is really engaged and you sense that every time you talk to them. All of our project is coordinated in Jira and we find it very effective and transparent.

Overall, SoftBlues has been meeting all our expectations and we would recommend cooperation with this software development firm.

Please provide your feedback on how Goodfirms has contributed to increasing your visibility among potential clients.
Goodfirms has been a consistent source of qualified inbound enquiries for us over the years. Prospective clients frequently reference our Goodfirms reviews during initial conversations, which tells me the platform is doing its job as a trust signal. As we have evolved from a JavaScript development company to an AI consultancy and Google Cloud Partner, we are now updating our profile to reflect this shift. We expect Goodfirms to play an even larger role in connecting us with enterprise clients looking for specialist AI partners in the UK.
Please introduce your company and describe your role within the organization.
Softblues is a London-based AI consultancy and Google Cloud Partner. We help enterprises deploy production-grade AI systems: intelligent agents, Voice AI, candidate assessment platforms, clinical research tools, and Gemini Enterprise implementations. We are headquartered at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, with engineering teams across the UK and EU.

I am the CEO and AI Solution Architect. My role spans three areas: I lead technical architecture and solution design for our most complex AI engagements, I manage strategic partnerships and enterprise sales, and I set the company's product and technology direction. I hold a Google ML Professional Certification and have a background in engineering, going back to 2004, with a product exit in 2022.
What inspired the founding of your company, and what is the story behind its inception?
I started building websites in 2004. At that time, e-commerce was just emerging and very few businesses understood why they needed a web presence. After delivering a few successful projects, I saw the opportunity to build something bigger and founded Softblues in 2014 as a formal company.

The real turning point came in 2023-2024. We had spent nearly a decade building strong engineering teams focused on JavaScript and web platforms. But the emergence of production-ready large language models changed everything. I saw that the same rigour we applied to building scalable web platforms could be applied to building AI systems, and that there was a massive gap in the market: plenty of companies could demo AI, but very few could take it to production with enterprise-grade reliability.

We pivoted the entire company toward AI, achieved Google Cloud Partner status, and I obtained my ML Professional Certification. By 2025, we had delivered our first production AI platforms. The founding inspiration has always been the same: use technology to solve real business problems, not chase trends. The technology evolved from PHP to JavaScript to AI, but the principle never changed.
What are the core values and principles that drive your company's culture, and how do you ensure alignment with these values across your team?
Three principles define how we operate:

First, honesty over salesmanship. We would rather lose a deal than oversell. If a client's problem is better solved with an off-the-shelf tool, we tell them. If our team is not the right fit, we say so. This honesty has earned us long-term relationships and repeat business.

Second, production quality from day one. We do not build throwaway demos. Every PoC we deliver is architected to evolve into a production system. This means more upfront investment, but clients do not have to rebuild from scratch after the proof-of-concept stage.

Third, people grow companies. We invest heavily in our engineers' development. Every team member has a professional development plan, and we run weekly tech talks and internal knowledge-sharing sessions. We believe that a team that learns together delivers better work. We ensure alignment through transparent communication, flat hierarchy, and involving engineers directly in client conversations so they understand the business context of what they build.
Can you highlight some of the key achievements or milestones your company has accomplished since its inception?
Our key milestones reflect the company's evolution:

2014: Founded as a web development company, quickly building a reputation for delivering complex JavaScript platforms.

2019-2021: Scaled to 40+ engineers. Delivered enterprise platforms including a fleet management system managing 100,000+ vehicles and an agricultural land management platform that won a presidential startup grant in Ukraine.

2022: Registered Softblues Solutions Ltd in the UK, relocating headquarters to London. I completed a product exit the same year.

2024: Achieved Google Cloud Partner status. I obtained the Google ML Professional Certification. Pivoted the company fully toward Enterprise AI.

2025: Delivered production AI systems, including an HR Tech platform with 90%+ accuracy in AI-powered candidate assessment, a clinical research data synthesis platform (Lumono.ai) compressing research timelines from months to weeks, and a Voice AI system delivering 24/7 customer support with 97% accuracy across 8 specialised agents.

2026: Launched the Vertical Pod Model, structuring the company into specialist AI practices: HR AI, Voice AI, E-commerce AI, and Enterprise AI platforms. Revenue trajectory toward our target, with multiple enterprise deals in the pipeline.
Could you explain your company's business model? Do you primarily operate with an in-house team or utilize third-party vendors/outsourcing?
We operate with a fully in-house model. Our core AI engineers, delivery managers, and solution architects are all Softblues employees or long-term dedicated contractors. We do not outsource delivery.

Our business has two revenue streams. The first is AI Development: dedicated AI teams working on long-term engagements, typically 12+ months, building production AI systems for enterprise clients. The second is Staff Augmentation: providing senior engineers (primarily JavaScript and Python) to enterprise clients who need to scale their existing teams.

Staff Augmentation covers our operational costs, which gives us the freedom to be selective about AI projects. We only take on AI work that passes our Quality Filter: the client must have a budget for a dedicated team, a long-term business need, and alignment with our technology stack.
How does your company differentiate itself from competitors in the industry?
Three things set us apart:

First, we are a Google Cloud Partner with deep Gemini and Vertex AI expertise. Most AI consultancies are model-agnostic generalists. We have chosen a platform and gone deep: fine-tuned models on Vertex AI, multi-agent systems on Google Cloud infrastructure, and Gemini Enterprise implementations. Clients get a team that knows the platform inside out, not generalists learning as they go.

Second, we bridge the gap between PoC and production. The AI market is full of companies that can build impressive demos. We specialise in taking those demos to production: scalable, reliable, secure systems that handle real traffic and real data. Our HR Tech platform processes 300+ interviews per week in production. That is the difference.

Third, our consultative approach. We start every engagement with a paid Discovery phase. We understand the business problem before writing a single line of code. This means clients get solutions designed for their actual needs, not a technology looking for a problem.
How would you describe the dynamics within your team, and how do you foster collaboration and teamwork to achieve common goals?
We operate with a flat, transparent structure. Engineers participate directly in client calls and architectural decisions. There is no layer of project managers translating between the client and the technical team.

Our collaboration model is built around what we call Vertical Pods: small, specialist teams organised around industry domains (HR AI, Voice AI, E-commerce AI). Each pod has a dedicated Pod Leader who owns delivery and client relationships within that vertical. This structure means team members build deep expertise in a specific domain rather than jumping between unrelated projects.

We run two-week sprints with daily standups and retrospectives. Every team member has direct visibility into the business goals, not just the technical tickets. I believe that engineers who understand why they are building something deliver fundamentally better work.
What measures do you take to support the professional development and growth of your employees? Do you offer training programs or opportunities for skill enhancement?
Professional development is central to our retention and quality strategy. Every team member has a personal development plan. We run weekly internal tech talks where engineers present on emerging AI techniques, Google Cloud updates, or lessons from recent projects.

We also invest in certifications. I led by example by obtaining the Google ML Professional Certification, and we encourage and fund team members pursuing relevant Google Cloud and AI certifications.

For junior engineers, we run a structured trainee programme. We hire promising talent, pair them with senior mentors, and give them progressively complex work. Several of our current senior engineers came through this programme. The goal is that every Junior grows to Senior within the company.
Could you share a notable success story or case study that exemplifies the impact your company has had on a client's business?
Our most impactful project is the HR Tech AI Platform. The client had developed a revolutionary methodology for predicting candidate-job fit based on linguistic patterns in speech, not what candidates say, but how they say it. The problem was that this analysis required trained human experts, limiting them to a handful of assessments per day.

We built a multi-agent AI system on Google Cloud that automated this analysis. We fine-tuned 10 specialised Gemini Flash models, each trained on a different psychological dimension, using 2,000+ expert-annotated interviews. The system now processes interviews in minutes instead of 2-3 hours, handles 300+ interviews per week, and achieves 90%+ accuracy across all assessment dimensions, with several exceeding 95%.

We also built an AI Voice Interviewer that conducts autonomous hour-long candidate interviews in five languages, removing the need for a human interviewer entirely. The client went from a service limited by human capacity to a scalable platform with a beta launch cohort of 10 clients and growing.
What industries do you primarily cater to, and do you have a significant percentage of repeat clients? If so, what is the ratio of repeat clients?
We focus on five primary verticals: HR and Recruitment Technology, Healthcare and Clinical Research, Financial Services, E-commerce, and Customer Operations (Voice AI).
Repeat client ratio is high, approximately 70-80% of our revenue comes from existing or returning clients. Our business model is built around long-term partnerships, not one-off projects. Most of our AI development engagements are 12+ months, and our staff augmentation relationships often run for years.
What initiatives does your company undertake to foster innovation and stay at the forefront of industry trends? Do you invest in research and development projects?
We stay at the forefront through three mechanisms. First, as a Google Cloud Partner, we have direct access to Google's engineering teams and early access to platform updates. We were among the first partners to work with Gemini Enterprise (formerly Google Agentspace) and have deep knowledge of the platform before it reached general availability.

Second, we practice what we call agent-first development. We use AI agents extensively in our own operations: for content creation, code review, client portal development, and internal tooling. This means we are constantly testing the latest models and frameworks in production conditions, not just reading about them.

Third, every client project generates reusable knowledge. Our Vertical Pod structure means that lessons from one HR AI project directly inform the next. We maintain internal playbooks for each vertical that capture architectural patterns, common challenges, and proven solutions.
Please share some of the most sought-after services that clients approach your company for.
Our most requested services in 2025-2026 are:

Custom AI Agent Development: building intelligent agents that integrate into client products and workflows, including multi-agent systems, document processing, and decision support.

Voice AI Solutions: 24/7 voice agents for customer support, technical troubleshooting, and appointment booking. Our Roof Maker case study, with 97% accuracy across 8 specialised agents, is the primary reference.

Gemini Enterprise Implementation: deploying Google's enterprise AI platform for internal knowledge management, employee AI assistants, and secure data governance.
AI-Powered Assessment Platforms: building systems that automate expert analysis, particularly in HR, healthcare, and regulated industries.

Staff Augmentation: providing senior JavaScript, Python, and AI engineers to enterprise teams that need to scale quickly.
How do you build and maintain strong relationships with your clients, and what mechanisms do you have in place for gathering and acting upon client feedback?
Transparency is the foundation. We give clients full visibility into what we are building, how long it takes, and what it costs. No surprises.

Practically, this means daily standups with the client team, bi-weekly demos of working software, and quarterly business reviews for long-term engagements. We use structured retrospectives at the end of each sprint to capture feedback and adjust.

For strategic accounts, I stay personally involved as the Solution Architect throughout the engagement. This ensures continuity between what was promised in sales and what gets delivered. Clients appreciate that the person who understood their problem is the same person overseeing the solution.
How has your company adapted to changes and challenges in the business landscape, and what strategies have you employed to ensure resilience and sustainability?
The biggest adaptation was our full pivot from web development to AI in 2023-2024. We saw the market shifting and moved decisively. Many companies talked about AI; we restructured the entire business around it, achieved Google Cloud Partner status, and repositioned from Lviv, Ukraine to London, UK as our headquarters.

Financially, our dual-revenue model provides resilience. Staff Augmentation generates stable, recurring revenue that covers operational costs regardless of how the AI pipeline performs in any given quarter. This means we never take on bad-fit AI projects out of financial pressure.

We also maintain a strict cash reserve policy and only hire after contracts are signed and deposits received. This discipline has kept us profitable through multiple market shifts, including the challenges posed by the war in Ukraine, which affected our original engineering base.
What payment structure do you typically follow when billing clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, or Pay per Milestone (phases, months, versions, etc.)?
We primarily operate on a monthly retainer model for AI development engagements.
Clients pay a fixed monthly fee for a dedicated AI team. This aligns incentives: we are partners invested in long-term success, not vendors rushing to close a fixed-scope contract.

For initial Discovery and PoC phases, we use milestone-based pricing. A typical Discovery engagement is a fixed fee (usually 2-4 weeks), and a PoC is priced as a separate milestone before committing to full development.

Staff Augmentation follows a straightforward monthly billing model based on agreed day rates.
Do you accept projects that meet your basic budget requirements? If yes, what is the minimum budget requirement? If no, what is the minimum budget you have worked with in the past?
We apply a Quality Filter to every potential engagement. Budget is one factor, but not the only one. We look for companies with 50+ employees (or equivalent funding), a genuine long-term AI need (not a one-off fix), and a technical stakeholder we can work with directly.

Our minimum engagement for AI development starts at approximately $15,000-$20,000 for a standalone Proof of Concept. For ongoing AI team engagements, the typical minimum is $10,000-$15,000 per month. We have declined projects below these thresholds, as the complexity of production AI work requires a level of investment that smaller budgets cannot sustain.
Can you provide an overview of the price range (minimum and maximum) of the projects your company worked on in 2025?
In 2025, our project values ranged from approximately $15,000 for focused PoC engagements to $200,000+ for full-year dedicated AI team deployments. The median engagement value was in the $80,000-$120,000 range for AI development projects. Staff augmentation contracts ranged from $40,000 to $150,000 annually per engineer, depending on seniority and duration.
What technological capabilities does your company possess, and are there any ongoing or planned investments in technology infrastructure or tools to enhance your services?
Our core technology stack is centred on Google Cloud Platform: Vertex AI for model training and serving, Cloud Run for scalable deployment, Firebase for real-time applications, and Cloud SQL for data persistence. For AI/ML, we work with fine-tuned Gemini models, Claude, and specialised open-source models depending on the use case.

For Voice AI, our stack includes LiveKit for real-time communication, ElevenLabs for voice synthesis and transcription, Deepgram for speech recognition, and Twilio for telephony integration. We also work with Google CX Agent Studio for multi-agent voice systems.

Current investments include deepening our Gemini Enterprise implementation capability as the platform evolves, building reusable agent frameworks that accelerate delivery across verticals, and developing internal AI tools that improve our own engineering productivity. We are also investing in our agent-first development methodology, where AI agents assist in code review, testing, and documentation.
Where do you envision your company in the next 10 years? What are your long-term goals and aspirations for growth and development?
In 10 years, I see Softblues as a leading European AI consultancy with 50+ AI engineers organised into 8-10 specialist vertical practices. Each vertical will be a recognised authority in its domain: the firm you call when you need production AI in HR, healthcare, financial services, or customer operations.

The business model evolves toward what I call an Expertise Empire: compounding knowledge within each vertical so that every project makes the next one faster, better, and more valuable. Eventually, some verticals may develop their own IP and products, creating additional revenue streams beyond consulting.

My personal aspiration is to step back from day-to-day delivery entirely. The company should run on its Pod Leaders and Delivery Managers, with me focused on strategic partnerships, the Google Cloud relationship, and identifying the next wave of AI opportunities. The long-term vision is a company that is bigger than any one person, built on deep expertise and genuine client impact.
