Excellent Value for Money

Strategy Plus has helped Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter promote itself far and wide online. They created the website in 2006, developed our search engine presence and over 30k followers on social media.

With the use of Video Marketing, they have taken our Digital Marketing to the next level, we can't thank them enough.

Strategy Plus was established in the late 90s, creating websites with SEO packages as standard. Although we have developed our skill base to become a Hubspot Partner and full-0service digital marketing agency, we have remained true to our values. We are a small agency for small businesses. With extensive experience, we are able to offer the very best support without the big agency rates.

Our motto is that “We succeed by growing others” and that is the focus of everything we do.
What inspired the founding of your company, and what is the story behind its inception?
The business was created by Kieth Ricardo an International Marketing Consultant back in 1997. After employing a number of developers, Keith brought on board his son Daniel, a Marketing graduate in Birmingham.

Keith was very much ahead of the game and saw the internet as the future of Marketing, followed by video marketing in the mid-2000s.

The beauty of the setup was the balance between Keith and Daniel’s Marketing expertise, alongside the technical talents of the developers.

Strategy Plus has helped many hundreds of small businesses successfully climb the digital marketing mountain.
What are the core values and principles that drive your company's culture, and how do you ensure alignment with these values across your team?

We offer a holistic approach to ensure we maximise the ROI for everything we do, whether they be SEO, Social Media, Email Marketing, Web Design, Video etc.

Can you highlight some of the key achievements or milestones your company has accomplished since its inception?
Strategy Plus was launched in 1997 by Keith Ricardo, an international marketing consultant. The company offered web design and internet marketing by a team of two, Keith and Cris, a web developer.

Keith’s son Dan had followed in his dad’s footsteps, studying marketing at university. After graduating in 2002, Dan joined Strategy Plus. The business was pitching website and SEO packages, offering multiple domains on a no-win no-fee SEO contract. If only SEO was still that predictable. At this point, businesses were still trying to get their heads around the online world and what it would mean for them.

In 2012, after getting the business through the banking crisis recession, Keith retired and Dan stepped up to run the business. With the new leadership came a brand refresh.

Strategy Plus has evolved into an inbound marketing agency with a team of UK-based content creators. And we are proud to have become Hubspot Certified Partners in 2020. The company may have grown, but we’ve stuck to our value promise of creating trust through transparency and delivering real value to our treasured small business clients. Plus, Dan and Cris are still central pillars of the Strategy Plus team.

We purchased and moved into our very own office after a few months of fitting it out just as we had dreamed. Having worked remotely throughout the pandemic, it was a very proud moment to set foot in our own Jewellery Quarter home.

We have complete transparency with the client, they have access to our project management tool and see everything that is going on. We have a simple KPI sheet that we work towards, rather than complicating matters with complex auto-generated reports.
How has your company adapted to changes and challenges in the business landscape, and what strategies have you employed to ensure resilience and sustainability?
We work 90% remotely and only sometimes go into the office. This allows for better productivity and a healthier work-life balance.

Usually monthly retainer with no fixed term contracts.
