Stubbs is a company specializing in custom web and mobile development, primarily working with startups and small to medium businesses. As the Founder and CEO, I manage all parts of the company’s strategy and operations.
What inspired the founding of your company, and what is the story behind its inception?
The company was founded in 2019, making it five years old now. At that time, my former partner was a senior developer, while I had experience running a telesales business. Together, we decided to try our hand in the IT industry.

Our core values are honesty and professionalism. These form the foundation of our corporate culture, and we ensure alignment by focusing on delivering services that provide clients a competitive edge through our technical expertise.
Can you highlight some of the key achievements or milestones your company has accomplished since its inception?
In the first two years, we focused on developing presentation projects like corporate websites and landing pages. During this time, we had the privilege of working with several notable clients, such as creating a corporate website for Oleksandr Usyk, designing projects for Lexus, and handling multiple projects for a restaurant chain.
Since then, we have shifted our focus toward more complex projects, such as marketplaces, e-commerce platforms, vand arious SaaS and mobile applications. Overall, we have around 100 cases in our portfolio and we've received several awards, such as Best UI Design from CSSDA and being recognized as a Top Web Development Company by Goodfirms.
Could you explain your company's business model? Do you primarily operate with an in-house team or utilize third-party vendors/outsourcing?
Our business model relies on a fully in-house team without freelance or third-party involvement. We offer both complete project outsourcing and staff augmentation for clients, depending on their needs.

We focus on our expertise in specific niches where we have extensive experience: SaaS, marketplaces, and e-commerce. Our team possesses advanced skills and uses an agile approach, allowing us to adapt to each client’s unique business needs. This includes flexible timelines, schedules, and adjustments to team size as required.
How would you describe the dynamics within your team, and how do you foster collaboration and teamwork to achieve common goals?
Our team operates with a clear vision of project goals and next steps. We reward employees with bonuses based on their performance and focus on keeping team members who help us achieve our shared goals.
To ensure progress, we adopt an Agile approach that includes regular check-ins and sprint planning. This helps us stay aligned and quickly adjust to any changes.

In our development work, we have a dynamic process for learning new skills. As we work on outstaffing projects, we frequently learn from other teams’ approaches, allowing us to adopt and integrate best practices. We use workshops and internal sessions to document and share experiences and stay up-to-date with the latest technology.
Could you share a notable success story or case study that exemplifies the impact your company has had on a client's business?
One success story is our work on Finance.ua, a project with millions of monthly users. Our team supported their functionality development as part of an outstaffing engagement. Another example is Mentoly, where we built a marketplace from scratch that now has thousands of active monthly users.
What industries do you primarily cater to, and do you have a significant percentage of repeat clients? If so, what is the ratio of repeat clients?
We primarily work in fitness, e-commerce, SaaS, social media, and healthcare. Currently, about 70% of our clients have been with us for over three years, which reflects our commitment to long-term partnerships.
What initiatives does your company undertake to foster innovation and stay at the forefront of industry trends? Do you invest in research and development projects?
Working with modern tech stacks is essential for our clients, so we keep up with best practices and market innovations. We invest in learning new technologies and frameworks to ensure we’re always providing top-quality solutions.

Custom development on React is one of our most requested services, especially for SaaS platforms. We also often provide staff augmentation services.
How do you build and maintain strong relationships with your clients, and what mechanisms do you have in place for gathering and acting upon client feedback?
Openness and a genuine interest in helping clients achieve their goals form the foundation of our client relationships. We conduct quarterly feedback forms to understand service quality and areas for improvement, covering communication, development, design, and budgeting.
How has your company adapted to changes and challenges in the business landscape, and what strategies have you employed to ensure resilience and sustainability?
We’ve adapted both to physical challenges in our country and changes in demand by focusing on custom development within specific niches. We maintain resilience through flexibility in service offerings, adjusting to client needs in hours, technology, and scaling.
What payment structure do you typically follow when billing clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, or Pay per Milestone (phases, months, versions, etc.)?
We generally work on an hourly basis (time and material) but sometimes offer a hybrid model with fixed pricing and a percentage deviation from the planned cost.
Do you accept projects that meet your basic budget requirements? If yes, what is the minimum budget requirement? If no, what is the minimum budget you have worked with in the past?
We work on projects requiring a minimum of 2-3 weeks of full-time engagement, ideally leading to long-term relationships. The minimum budget is around $3,000 to $4,000.
Can you provide an overview of the price range (minimum and maximum) of the projects your company worked on in 2023?
Our rate range started at $30 per hour, and our current standard rate has increased accordingly.
What technological capabilities does your company possess, and are there any ongoing or planned investments in technology infrastructure or tools to enhance your services?
We work extensively with React and constantly learn new versions of Next.js and various other frameworks. We’re expanding our knowledge in server technologies, especially with AWS, and planning to strengthen our backend capabilities.
Where do you envision your company in the next 10 years? What are your long-term goals and aspirations for growth and development?
We aim to become experts in SaaS development, not only from a technical perspective but also by building insights into what makes startups successful. We’ll use this expertise to provide consultative support, helping clients create products with competitive advantages.
Also, we expect big changes in the industry due to advancements in AI. We are committed to adjusting to these changes to stay ahead in the field.
