Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.
My name is Vitaliy Dyachenko, I’m the Founder and CEO of UppLabs – a software engineering company that develops secure and compliant software for FinTech and Healthcare businesses eager to be #1 in their niche. Our aim is to implement the latest innovations in providing the best solutions for all stages of project development, timely technical support, and a high level of maintenance for our customers’ businesses.

Additionally, focused on the lending niche, we provide reusable tech to cover such challenges of custom fintech software as KYC, AI-based risk evaluation, credits, collection, P2P lending.
 
UppLabs is a global company with a headquarters in the US and R&D center in East Europe, that works with clients worldwide. Most of the clients come from the US and Europe.
 
We have 10 solid years of experience on the global market, with more than 1000+ successful deployments of our out-of-box solutions, 150+ deployed projects, and 50+ successful setups of dedicated development teams’ projects behind our back. During those 10 years, we had an opportunity to work with SimilarWeb, CitiBank, Deloitte, and other world-known businesses.
What is the story behind starting this company?
In the last year of my studies at university, I and my groupmates created an application to manage sim and scratch cards for a distribution company.

After this, I spent some time working for the big software outsourcing companies and gained a lot of experience.

Still being an employee, simultaneously I started working on my own product. By that time I already had my reliable team and decided to start my first UppLabs project. So I invited them,  and on October 14th, 2014 we officially founded UppLabs.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
UppLabs has an in-house team that helps our clients to develop their projects from scratch or rebuild/update existing products.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
First, UppLabs has clear niches, where we increased our potential to the maximum level. Ten years ago we’ve started being a jack of all trades, but with the time we have chosen 3 core business domains (FinTech, Healthcare, Real Estate) we are the true experts of. These are the 3 industries  UppLabs mastered our skills in, learned all possible pitfalls and regulations. Often we even consult business owners on their prospects and possible challenges if they want to create a software in Fintech, Healthcare on Real Estate.
 
Secondly, we have a set of B2B lending tech solutions that help our clients to launch their own lending and other Fintech products. These solutions help businesses to save time, money, make faster time-to-value conversions, and manage financial and regulatory compliance risks.

Thirdly, UppLabs is a flat company, where employees get motivated not by stakeholders or board, but by the team itself.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
Here in UppLabs, we work with tech businesses in 3 main industries: FinTech, Healthcare, Real-Estate. We have the honor to work with a big range of customers from various areas, many of them decide to come back to us and our long partnership goes on.

What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
For now, the customer satisfaction rate is approximately 95%. UppLabs has shown high-level proficiency in meeting customer’s targets and running the project smoothly. Advanced skills of IT-team, as well as a unique approach to each customer, keeps a high level of customer satisfaction.
    What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
    UppLabs has a customer-focused approach, all the queries may be sent via various channels like Slack, Skype, emails- any convenient option may be discussed.
    What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
    We provide several payment structures, depending on the model of cooperation.
    If we work on an outstaff model, we use a Fixed Cost payment structure, when the client pays once per month. If we work on another model, the payment structure is discussable, depending on the client’s convenience, but mainly its payment in phases.
    Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
    Actually, we choose projects considering the industry and the minimal budget, which is now $30.000. But if we see the value of the project for our client and for us from a long-term perspective, we’re ready to make an exception.
    What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2020?
    $30.000 – eternity.
    Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
    My intention is to make UppLabs an autonomous company that is not dependent on anyone, including me. I don’t want to build another outsourcing company.

    Instead, I want UppLabs to take its niche as a leader. And we are working on that now. And to achieve this, we need to be the first to make a move.

    I also want to highlight the quality indicators that show the influence of every change and process flow in the company. There are clear verticals of expertise, which allow attracting customers with larger orders and redirect the company’s efforts to long-term contracts. This, in turn, allows expanding the team, increasing revenue, and offering essential services and additional services.
