Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.
Velox Networks Pte Ltd is a licensed telecommunications service provider in Singapore, licensed by the Singapore government to provide full fixed-line telecommunications services. Our mandate is to support Small and Medium-sized businesses to migrate to a cloud telephony platform resulting in reduced costs, enhance functionality as well as deploying a telephony platform to remote home-based users.
What is the story behind starting this company?
We were seeking a cloud telephony platform for a previous company, but due to the absence of a stable and functionally rich solution, we developed our own platform in-house.
Once we commissioned the platform and deployed it, we were approached by other companies that wanted a similar solution. We decided to continue to develop and commercialize the original platform and added functionality and associated components such as a telco-grade billing system.
We were granted our telco license by the Singapore government in April 2017 and have been growing rapidly since.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
Due to our licenses from the Singapore government precluding us from reselling the service, our business model is based on B2B directly to customers and end-users.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
Our key differentiators are based on the single price, functionally rich solution that can be deployed within 24 hours. Our unique easy to use customer configuration portal combined with dedicated and proactive account management has resulted in a growing reputation as the predominant cloud PBX company as indicated on our Goodfirms profile.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
We cater to all industries and market segments including commercial entities, charitable organizations, education facilities, religious organizations, and government bodies as indicated on our website. Our customer base is both domestic and international.
With a SaaS business model and a churn rate of less than 1%, combined with the relocation of office-based workers to home offices requiring the extension of a traditional office based PBX system, we are growing rapidly.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
The Velox cloud PBX platform provides all the functionality of a high-end conventional PBX including advanced call routing, call recording, auto attendant, web click2call functions as well as softphones for cell phones and PC’s
Due to the covid-19 pandemic and the deployment of office-based workers to home offices, a trend that is expected to continue even post covid-19 pandemic, the ability to make and receive business calls on the Velox Softphone is driving more and more companies to subscribe to the Velox platform.
What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
With a customer churn rate of sub 1%, our dedicated and highly knowledgeable account management is the key to our success and customer satisfaction. Senior management and directors are in direct contact with our customers and prospects daily to ensure that we understand our customers’ needs and deliver market-driven functionality.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
The Velox platform incorporates extensive easy to use knowledge-based solutions to the overwhelming majority of customer queries and issues. However, this is complemented by dedicated, highly trained, and competent account managers that are available to service and resolve our customer's queries and issues in a professional and timely manner.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
One of the unique attributes of the Velox offering is our pricing mechanism. A single per user per month license fee is all-inclusive, including softphones, all features, support, annual maintenance, etc. We do not charge “extras” that are often invisible in the presale’s situation.
This approach has been widely approved and applauded by our customer base, which has ensured our high levels of customer retention.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Due to the low cost of the per user per month license fee, our entry-level per customer is for 5 users.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2020?
The cloud PBX service is based on a SaaS business model and hence not project-based. However, as an indication, we have customers that have subscribed with as low as 5 users and as high as many hundreds of users.
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
We believe that within the next 5-10 years we will be competing directly with conventional telecommunications companies such as BT, Vodaphone, etc for telecommunication services provided to Small and Medium-sized businesses globally.
