Executive Interview of Webpinn

Vincent Menza
Founder
Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
Webpinn provides solutions for businesses to market, sell, and stand out from the competition. This is done through web and mobile development, and other business solutions. I deal with everything under the business side scope.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
We wanted to provide businesses with the necessary tools to help them grow and take advantage of the online market.
What is your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We have in the best in house developers, without whom we wouldn’t be where we are.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
Our model seeks to give custom solutions, after a full assessment using our well-researched checklist, we then give the clients what they need.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive?
Start-ups have been our majority clients, and small businesses, the repetitive clients come back to get the additional services we offer like online marketing.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a web app.
The design concept, and the type of project at hand.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a web app?
Every part of the project is critical, with no front end the back end is plain code, and without the backend the front remains to be a shell. We focus and try to give each end its fair share of time.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a web application?
The type of project, features and the possibility of future expansion.
Which platform and technologies do you prefer to use in development of your web apps?
We believe in diversity, but most of our developers use Laravel, Angular or Node, that being said we are not limited to just the three.
Do you offer website design templates or customised website design, and do you have a responsive website design?
About 98% of what we do is custom, the alternative 2% come from clients who want to use a readily available template. And yes all our sites are responsive.
Which Content Management System do you prefer to use (Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal etc)?
Wordpress trumps all.
Do you provide website maintenance services?
Yes, we do, this is usually part of our contract agreement.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a web application?
What functionalities and design expectations the client wants. It all boils down to what the client needs.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We try to accommodate every form of payment, as we can have a one size fits all.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
No. We believe if you want the best, you need to get the best and best shouldn’t be undervalued. The least we have ever done is too embarrassing to reveal.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2019?
I’ll give a range from 0 $ to 50,000 $.
