FestivalNet® approached us seeking solutions for climbing their sales and traffic:
 

  1. COVID restrictions impacted their growth.
  2. While their PPC efforts were paying off, they wanted organic traffic to their website for sustainable growth.

According to FestivalNets competitor analysis, they found their competitors were growing and wanted to outdo their competition

Approach

Focused on improving the indexing of product categories. Event websites like FestivalNet face a shortage of time when it comes to promoting upcoming events. We fixed that by separating product categories between cyclical events and non-cyclical events.

Observed that the web pages were still ranking for keywords from 2018-19. Therefore, our strategy included introducing and ranking for current keywords. This step involved a deep dive into the website, changing existing copy, and a thorough competitor and industry analysis to get the best keywords for FestivalNet.

Changed the website structure to focus on cities for events rather than events in cities. This change in website structure allowed FestivalNets users to search for their services and further helped their SERP rankings.
Conducted thorough competitor analysis to bridge the gap between events users were searching for vs. their search results. This research also showed us the benefit of having a blog for ranking higher.

Changed the website structure of FestivalNet to fit more with Googles quality guidelines. This restructuring meant reducing the number of advertisements on the website. In addition, it improved the CTRs and reduced bounce rates drastically.

    Visitors were using model numbers of products while searching, and since the products weren't using this keyword in their product titles and descriptions, it affected the search results. Therefore, we changed the copy of all product pages using model numbers within the titles and descriptions.

    The clients website had a great search option, but it failed to capture the right customer queries. We changed that and fixed navigation issues, so visitors now go to pages similar to their search if the product wasnt available. This improved user experience as well as search results.

    Made structural changes to the website following Googles quality checks. Also, we fixed issues with page duplication, which helped optimize the crawl budget.

    We observed that the BOE Marines audience didnt purchase impulsively. Rather, they loved to educate themselves about the product line. This information helped us create blog posts (Product instructionals, product comparisons, etc.) and run other content campaigns that helped the ToFu visitors.

    We reduced the bounce rates by fixing issues with filters and improving the overall structure of the brands website.

    Approach
  • Having focused categories: BFX had a large inventory. We prioritized product categories according to search volume and shrunk their category size to 20. It meant to delete/ restructure product categories based on search intent. These were categories with keywords actively used by their customers.
  • Restructuring the website: We made navigation and page structure more intuitive for bots and humans. We optimized the copy for each landing page to contain strategic keywords. We changed the page structure to highlight high-traffic gaining pages upfront.
  • Creating more internal links within each page so the customer is always active on the website. This further allowed us to rank better on Google. We ran a deep dive through the website to see which products had the potential to rank higher in the future. We linked these pages to the landing pages getting high traffic.
  • Executing data-centric strategies: Our goal was to implement strategies that yielded great results even after our contract ended. For example, we revamped the websites theme and added tags that enabled BFX to add products that would automatically rank high without our intervention.
  • Improved ranking by changing filters: By changing the filters to be in tune with customers search, we improved the user experience on the website and improved the sites rankings. Search bots could crawl easily and index pages, and we could reduce duplicate pages to zero.
