Overview

About 2muchcoffee

2muchcoffee is a software company based in St. Petersburg, Florida, building web, mobile, and AI products since 2015. We are a US company you can hold accountable, with a senior engineering team behind the work. We take products from early MVP to enterprise scale across Angular, React, React Native, Node.js, and Python, with design, QA, and code review from the same team. Our engineers built and scaled Stepler, a fitness app now serving 10M+ users, and Station, a productivity platform backing 600+ apps that is a Y Combinator alum and Product Hunt Project of the Year. They also delivered Normative's sustainability analytics and maintain NGX-Restangular, an open-source Angular library with 700+ GitHub stars.

AI is a capability we prove, not a label we wear: production RAG systems, AI agents, and speech-to-text, grounded and evaluated, including the AI coach inside that same 10M-user app and a public hybrid-RAG teardown. Work with us as an embedded senior developer, a dedicated team, or a full project build.

Their tech and business expertise positions them well for future collaboration. 2muchcoffee developed the cross-platform application from scratch. We hired 2muchcoffee for developing the front-end part of the application from scratch using Angular. We asked to build a responsive web dashboard with video streaming ability. All required functionality has been implemented and fulfilled all our expectations. Currently the platform is on the final stage of testing and being polished before the launch to the market. 2muchcoffee team has perfectly skilled and experienced developers who can take over the project and bring it to the market. They combine deep tech expertise with niche experience in different domains showing magnificent results.

We hired 2muchcoffee to develop screens in Angular for our B2B application. We've had a lot of experience with offshore developers, some good, some not. 2muchcoffee delivered on several levels. The most important thing they delivered was very strong development resources. With outsourced development, you're never sure what quality developers you will be getting until after the work has begun. Getting started takes time and switching companies after wasting a month or two is very costly in terms of dollars and time to market. 2muchcoffee brought very high quality developers to our project. The code was very clean and the delivery was consistent. We had zero problems related to the code that was delivered and the code quality was as good as it gets. On top of that, 2muchcoffee assigned a project manager to our project. He was always available, very professional and just generally good to work with. The level of effort required on our part to manage 2muchcoffee as a partner was very low. The experience has been very good and we continue to work with them. 2muchcoffee delivered great code and zero problems.

2muchcoffee, not only had the technical knowhow to develop our core advertising management system, that supports high throughput and integrations to external advertiser, but more importantly were able to understand our business requirements and take ownership on the design similar to an internal development team. It is a pleasure to work with them.

Based on the provided tasks, 2muchcoffee designed and developed a business logic layer for the application. 2muchcoffee team identified both business and technical requirements necessary to deliver high-quality results. They covered all the needs and showed a high flexibility while covering the back-end development, the front-end support and the basic DevOps tasks. I hired 2muchcoffee to speed up the back-end development. They designed and built a business logic layer of my application based on SaaS my team already had implemented. Over time, they took over the whole back-end development. As a result of our cooperation, I got exactly what we wanted.

I'm a programmer myself and hired Anton to serve as a subcontractor. My process for finding contractors is thorough, to say the least. I go through 100+ profiles on upwork to interview 5-6 people. Of those 5-6 people, I put them through a programming challenge and code review. This process led to two qualified individuals. I couldn't be happier with my choice to work with Anton. We built 2 Ionic mobile apps which are connected to a backend API. One of the mobile apps is a white-labeled application, so quite quickly we will have over 200 apps of this nature on the android and apple app stores. The functionality for these applications was all advanced and Anton handled it all with ease. Anton has everything you look for in a programmer. His code quality was excellent, great attention to detail, he used our project management tool in detail, communicated properly (not too much or too little) the entire project, showed up to work every day, no drama or extra headaches, and ultimately delivered great value to our end client. If you hire Anton, you can be assured you are getting an outstanding programmer and a true professional. One of the best I have worked with on Upwork, I'm excited to work with him on future projects.

2muchcoffee provided us with the full cycle of development from the framing idea to the final release of our project - Stepler. Stepler is an app to track taken steps and convert them into points. These points can be used in the app to claim real goods and services in different shops. The app serves as a motivation and trigger to stay fit, especially if you don’t have a lot of free time. 2muchcoffee is a professional team with the depth of talent and high level of tech expertise. The team has been able to develop solutions that effectively engage with our large volume of users. Time management and communication flow were exceptional. So, it was a pleasure to work with such professionals.

2muchcoffee proved their professionalism by bringing our ideas to life and to create a feature-rich and intuitive app. Our project Scholyr is the smart learn-to-read app that helps children develop key literacy skills. We aim to create an online platform with engaging design and powerful tech to provide an effective learning experience. 2muchcoffee is a team of problem-solvers that strive to find the perfect solution. They're great in terms of backend logical systems, and know how to find creative workarounds. 2muchccoffee is very diligent which translates to the high quality they deliver. The team’s professionalism, code quality, and responsiveness are their main strengths. The company is very customer-centric and gave us the impression that they understood the requirements from start to finish. Without a doubt, 2muchcoffee helped us to achieve our main goal and I can’t imagine working with another software company.

Kindly share your feedback on how Goodfirms has been doing so far in increasing your visibility among potential clients.

One of the main sources where potential partners can check and confirm our experience and portfolio cases.

Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?

2muchcoffee itself is Bruce Lee of Javascript with cumulative 200 000+ hours spent on the application development. We provide product development services for startups and big brands. We provide custom solutions using Agile software development and transform your vision into high-quality digital products. I’m CEO/CTO of 2muchcoffee team.

What was the idea behind starting this organization?

Probably my previous experience in huge corporations, I saw the demand for the quality software development services as well as was shocked about the low quality of existing products on the market that made me confident that there is a huge market demand on development services worldwide. this was the start of my personal career as a web developer.

What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?

We provide full-cycle inhouse product development services. Starting from the discovery phase both product and tech, going to complete UI/UX and ending with product development. We have our internal school for the persons who are willing to become a web/mobile development. The educational process takes 4-5 months before we can provide the developer access to the onboarded project. We have inhouse frontend and backend developers (usually they are full stack) as well as a team of UI/UX designers. In case the client needs additional services like PPC, crowed marketing, inbound or outbound marketing or SEO services we have a number of vendors whom we can recommend.

How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?

It’s all about our team members and their past experience. Our PM team has product development and business development expertise in different industries and was involved in the development of startups from the ground up. From the very beginning, we ask tones of questions about the idea and the application value, and based on the answers from the customers can provide suggestions on the MVP and the product features itself. We always start from the discovery phase and moving forward to the final tech specification fo the project.

What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?

Our main niche focus is Education (e-learning) applications, Fitness apps, SaaS, and custom CRM/CMS systems (they are both web and mobile). 68% of the application we’ve been a technical partner in 2019 was from the EdTech niche.

Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app.

It is obvious that we need the exact tech specs, finalized designs of the application to be able to provide the exact estimation. But our background says that it all depends on the customer. The customer with a clear view, proper background, and understanding of the final goal will receive the live app much faster.

How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile app?

It all depends on the application and eagerness of the client to shorten the MVP scope and go on the market to be able to get the first users’ feedbacks and try to adopt the app to the market needs. Minimal app development duration was 2 months for both frontend and backend.

What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?

We strongly recommend Ionic Framework in case a customer needs an application for both web and mobile interfaces. It can totally save the application cost having one code base for all versions of the application. In case we see that the application has huge scaling potential and will be totally mobile we will surely advise choosing React Native. Our vision is simple - one codebase will cut the development time and the product will appear on the market faster.

Which platform do you suggest your clients begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?

I’m a die-hard fan of iOS just because all Apple products are one eco-system. But it actually depends on the market where the customer is planning to launch the products, we need to check the preferences of the audience of the exact market and start with the most demanded platform.

Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?

In the early stages, we strongly recommend a Hybrid because of well-known benefits (it’s easier to hit the market, one code base instead of three, cost-effectiveness). We do recommend native IOS/Android development when a customer has special needs, something like Snapchat filters, direct interaction with the device resources, etc.

What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?

The scaling potential of the application is the king. Depending on the customers’ plans we need to plan the proper architecture of the future application. Additional factors are user management flow, monetization flow, gamification flow, etc.

What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)

Biweekly invoicing structure with accurate timesheets and feedback on the communication flow. We are working on time and material basis providing upfront the estimation of the project, in 89% in case there were no changes in the structure of the application and no additional features were provided by the customer the initial estimation is equal to the final one. Throughout 2019 only 9% of the customers didn’t make any changes in the confirmed tech specifications.

Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?

The minimal budget we are considering to start the project is around 30 000 USD, from our background this is the minimal amount to be able to deliver MVP to the market.

What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2019?

Between 30 000 USD and 500 000 USD.

Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?

Subscriptions and Sponsorships generated the most revenue for our existing partners.
