We are a modern and multifunctional event hall that meets the standards of the world music industry. We hold events of various formats from music concerts to theatrical performances. We needed a DevOps specialist to help us with the optimizations of the project architecture.
What were your goals for this project?
After several years of the platform work, we have collected a large technical debt related to DevOps work. Our project environment was extremely unstable. Due to the poor configuration of our microservice architecture, sometimes we experienced the fall of our application services and even the database.

Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
I’m a co-founder and CEO at Evrone, a custom web development company. Our team has been successfully delivering high-quality digital products for more than ten years. We have offices in San-Francisco, Berlin, Moscow, and Voronezh.
Annually we organize different events from local meetups to the biggest Ruby/Ruby on Rails conference in Russia. These events help our developers maintain the highest level of the quality of our projects and help our company to hire the best of the best specialists in our teams.
I manage most aspects of the company's progress, empowering more businesses to build great online products.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
It all started with our passion for e-sports. For a very long time, I have been playing Counter-Strike with Iurii Gurzhii, the co-founder of Evrone. We often met at tournaments where we played against each other. From time to time, I won and lost to him, following which we became friends. We decided to create our own team, to educate and create an e-sports club, and it began to work out.
Not long after, it became clear that we were able to do more, something that went beyond eSports — we decided to start a web development company.
For a whole year, we programmed from the apartment. Later I was laid off, and it became clear that I had to either start my own business or be hired again. My wife supported me, and despite all the fear, we founded Evrone. And in 2008, the main direction of our team was born — the development of web projects.
What is your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We have an in-house team of more than 120 employees. We provide our customers with dedicated teams enhanced with our technical expertise. The team structure reflects customer and project needs. A team may be assembled of analytics, designers, backend and frontend developers, DevOps, quality assurance engineers, and project manager.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
Within the time the company operates, a lot of really great projects had been done from the ground up. We help our partners to implement their projects from the idea to the complete realization of the product. We consult our partners through the entire process of developing the idea.
Evrone team has many times delivered great products and as efficiently as an in-house team of designers and engineers. We make digital products look great cause we do market research and find out how to ship an outstanding brand on the marketplace.
Other than MVPs for startups, the company engineers augment in-house development teams. That mostly comes because of the strong Ruby expertise in the company. Most of the companies know Evrone as one of the leaders on Ruby on Rails development.

It depends on what stage the project is right now. Basically, we consider the project requirements, and then we study the technical specification for the project.

It always depends on the type of project. A simple one can be done in 2-3 months. A quite complex project could last for about 6-7 months and more.

The decision is based on a lot of parameters, including the business requirements, target audience, the number of users, the feature set, feature scalability, user interface needs, third party integrations, and more.
Which platform and technologies do you prefer to use in the development of your web apps?
We have extensive experience in Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Python, Django, Erlang, Elixir, Go, Rust, React, Vue.js, Flutter, React Native.
Do you offer website design templates or customized website design, and do you have a responsive website design?
We do offer all. We can build a website depending on the layout and theme selected by our partner, applying some changes if the client requires it. But most of the time, we create the design from scratch because we have a talented and creative in-house UI/UX design team. Almost all of our design works turn into award-winning products.

Which Content Management System do you prefer to use (Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, etc.)?
We at Evrone prefer to build custom content management systems over others, but we use Drupal and Webflow when necessary.

Yes. Our teams of experts have vast experience in the maintenance of different projects from e-commerce websites to complex high-load web applications.

While reviewing the project, we take into account the number of requested features and their complexity as well as possible risks and pitfalls. We usually work closely with our partners offering them different ways to achieve the customer's goals.

As we focus on custom solutions based on specific customer needs — we stick to the agile software development approach. Early delivery and effective response to changes are key values that we bring into every project. All of our work on the project is completely transparent.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
We usually consider projects that are above USD 10,000. However, if we find a project that gives us the opportunity to work on the latest and trending technologies, we definitely qualify and evaluate such projects in a differentiated manner.
