Kindly share your feedback on how Goodfirms has been doing so far in increasing your visibility among potential clients.
Goodfirms has helped us with reaching new audiences through their directories. The site gives us a platform to highlight our value to potential clients through our key services of Mobile Apps, Websites, and Branding.
Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.
I am Rico Rauch, the founder of Fortnight Studio. We are a small team of creative makers & designers who build award-winning mobile apps and websites.
What is the story behind starting this company?
We believe change shouldn't take ages. Often a Fortnight is enough. We're big lovers of design sprints & iterative improvements. We help brands shine a new light on themselves and build beautiful, engaging products.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
Fortnight is a purposely small design and development studio and we only work on projects we truly believe in, as we feel this is the best approach to create some pretty spectacular and successful outcomes. Our close-knit team means you have constant access to our designers, developers, and product managers who are dedicated to you.
We always look to understand what the client is trying to achieve so we can present our solutions. We approach each project through agile practices to ensure we focus on client communication, task planning, live and retrospective feedback, budget management, and being adaptive to the client's needs.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
We started as a design first agency and still approach every project in that way – understanding the client, their audience, and how we can improve their offering through ingenious design. We believe this sets us apart from other studios because we also have a fantastic development team. Our customer-centric approach allows us to act as an extension of our client's in-house team, involving them throughout the partnership to ensure we achieve success together.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
We work with startups and SMEs from a variety of domains & backgrounds, so we are always focused on building a relationship with the client first to identify opportunities within their business and to solve problems for their customers, regardless of the industry.
Over the years we have become experts in designing and building digital products across many different industries, but a lot of our work has been in the health & fitness, proptech, fintech, dating, and music sectors.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
We can plan, design, build and maintain digital products for our clients, from mobile apps, websites and visual branding, and brand strategy.
What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
As mentioned, we are very customer-centric and ensure we understand the project and partnership from the client's perspective before our own. We like to over-communicate and our lean approach ensures we’re able to deliver a quality product within a set budget. Our clients are very satisfied with our approach and process and many are repeat customers, while some extend the partnership to a monthly retainer.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
We use Slack as an open channel with our clients so they can reach us 24/7 and we can share tasks and milestones with them ad hoc. Any tasks or queries are logged on our project management system ClickUp and we try to respond as soon as possible, no longer than a few working hours. The team is always flexible and available for a call.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We price up our projects based on our approach and what milestones are needed, illustrating this to the client in the proposal. We ask for 50% upfront at the start of each milestone, with the remaining amount paid upon the completion of the said milestone, when the client is happy.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Our basic budget requirement is £4,500 for a visual branding project or simple website. For Mobile Apps, we usually would need a minimum budget of £30,000 for an MVP. We have taken on projects with a lower value in the past where we felt the project was a really good fit for us and the client.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2021?
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
We’d like to further strengthen the partnership we have with our existing clients and become the go-to team for new clients who are passionate and ambitious about solving their customer’s needs through ingenious design and a product-first approach.
