Glazed bootstrapped the shaping and development of a new product, "Realtime".  An internal team was subsequently formed around the product, achieving a successful product launch within a year. Realtime has become the primary focus of PlatformE, attracting major global fashion suppliers and brands.

PlatformE leads in 3D customization for the apparel industry, offering real-time personalization through online plugins. Exclusive brands like Hermès and Dior benefit from this, empowering made-to-order production and reducing overproduction environmental and economic impact. PlatformE created a new Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) focused on reusing the suppliers’ existing catalogs and patterns, and improving cooperation between fashion brands and suppliers.

  • Used HTMX and Django to quickly prototype and iterate towards an MVP. 
  • Developed several PLM features such 2D/3D Digital Catalog, Assortment planning, Sourcing, Costing, Quotes and Orders.
  • Integrated and repurposed PlatformE’s existing server-side rendering 3D customization plugin and SSO.
  • Worked on a new client-side rendering 3D customizer, including rendering uploaded patterns over the 3D models for all-over-print.
  • Introduced an innovative variant management system, allowing for the efficient creation, filtering, customization, and dynamic pricing of millions of variants per design.
  • Onboarded PlatformE’s internal team on the codebase, and worked with them towards the product launch.

This project, called black-and-white, was the main strategic move the company made and the first clients to use it were Manolo Blahnik and Rihanna. 

The focus was on developing a custom eCommerce Content Management System (CMS) that empowers each tenant to modify the appearance and content of their storefront in real-time.

Considering the codebase was split across several microservices with a very scalable architecture it allowed us to easily deploy via Docker.

Therefore, a responsive design solution, converged in performance with search engine and app store optimisation was vital.

  • Developed an isomorphic React storefront with webpack.
  • Enhanced performance by leveraging caching and mobile-specific code chunks.
  • Built a component-based single-page application that is search-engine optimized with fast and light initial load, ensuring an excellent user experience, particularly on mobile devices
  • Built a multi-tenant fashion eCommerce store, with the a large feature set: Product Collections, Seasons, Campaigns, Search, Browsing, Filtering, Product Recommendation algorithm, Shopping Bag, Favourites, Social interaction, Campaigns, Discounts, Newsletter, Analytics and Boutiques listing.
  • Integrated this multi-tenant with Farfetch internal processes, including Operations, Payments, Shipping, Billing, Returns, and Support.

Gopuff is a digital delivery service designed to deliver daily essentials within minutes.

After some years with a legacy web app, goPuff decided to upgrade the application, using modern technologies that provide a better experience to the user, in order to increase the number and the value of the orders. The main challenge for Glazed was to plan an application that uses the same services as the legacy app and could be built in a limited time.

Glazed work is to support an engineering team that is building solutions to dramatically change the way people purchase their daily goods, by providing a modern-day solution to meet customers’ immediate everyday needs.

- Developed native applications for grocery delivery with React Native for iOS, Android, Mobile Web and Web, and other tools like Typescript and nodeJS. 

- Built a new user interface for customizing orders of products from various brands (for example, fully customizing a Starbucks order by adding a topping, specifying the flavor, etc.)

- Implemented a content dynamic system that allows the content team to change part of the app without code change and an event system to be used by the analytics team.

- Built user Interface for search engine and developed new gift offering feature to create events with 
  specific offers, like Superbowl.

Mercadão was the first on-demand marketplace in Portugal, introducing 2-hour deliveries from a variety of retailers.

Since the moment Glazed teamed-up with Mercadão, we've tackled top priorities while assuring their customers services access. 

In less than a year working on the project, Glazed confidently can state that the operation execution time has been improved significantly as well as database accesses and CPU usage. All those changes have translated in a smoother user experience, an increase of MAU's and since January 2020 there was a daily delivery increase of more than 20x.

  • Integrated the payments journey with SIBS, Portugal's most complete  mobile payments service, allowing customers to choose their preferred  payment method. 
  • Design and Developed Click & Collect functionality, allowing customers to  shop online and pick up their orders at a designated store.
  • Developed an API for third-party integration for partner brands, to take advantage of Mercadão's logistics to enable same-day deliveries.
  • Improved the service delivery update,  by implementing a recovery-mode system and monitoring tools.

- Created the main gateway architecture and payment method abstraction. The abstracted flow 
  supported multiple steps to collect authentication data and capture funds, handling offline actions by the 
  customer or redirecting to payment providers' web pages, and providing synchronous or asynchronous 
  responses.

- Integrated with over 20 card and alternative payment methods providers.

- Developed REST and Real-time APIs and SDKs in Python, Java, Objective C, and PHP.

- Developed Switch’s website, merchant dashboard, documentation page and support platform.

- Successfully underwent PCI DSS certification, employing secure development practices and infrastructure hardening.

  • Developed and created essential modules and features within the Canvas solution.

  • Built the data integration module to incorporate unstructured data into clinical data models, prioritizing the reliability that such a system demands.

  • Developed the Population Health module, which is used to provide care for patients at scale and leverages clinical quality protocols to generate automated messaging campaigns to support clinical outcomes.
