GoodFirms is one of the marketing channels we use and its contribution is mostly in global SEO visibility all around the world.
Please introduce your company and describe your role within the organization.
IT Engine has provided custom software services since 2011. Besides custom projects that we start with product discovery and design, we also help clients build a dedicated team in our company. I am the founder and CEO, but working closely with the Sales department and maintaining relationships with existing clients.
What inspired the founding of your company, and what is the story behind its inception?
We had an idea to found a company where employees as well as clients like to come and work. No stress or unnecessary pressure. We saw how things are done in different companies and wanted to bring some changes in IT culture.
What are the core values and principles that drive your company's culture, and how do you ensure alignment with these values across your team?
In today's AI-driven world, we recognize and promote the importance of authenticity and a human approach. Our core values are being shown in every aspect of the company, from the HR approach, knowledge sharing, and team building events among other things.

We focus on the well-being of our employees and work-life balance. Only satisfied and motivated employees can give their best to clients. Clients understand that we have an equal responsibility to both employees and them.
Can you highlight some of the key achievements or milestones your company has accomplished since its inception?
Our most important achievement we are proud of is the big retention rate which is really low in the IT industry. Other than that crossing a line of 50 employees was also a nice milestone. Besides that 100 or more happy clients in a 13-year history is an amazing milestone.
Could you explain your company's business model? Do you primarily operate with an in-house team or utilize third-party vendors/outsourcing?
The company works primarily with in-house resources but if the client is in a tight spot we do have a partner network that we cooperate with in such cases.
How does your company differentiate itself from competitors in the industry?
We try to be recognized in the IT community by tackling the impossible through an authentic approach to challenges, while keeping the focus on people.
How would you describe the dynamics within your team, and how do you foster collaboration and teamwork to achieve common goals?
Direct and open communication is key for collaboration in our team. We encourage employees to be open and discuss their problems with the company.
What measures do you take to support the professional development and growth of your employees? Do you offer training programs or opportunities for skill enhancement?
We have a support framework which is the definition for tech team organization of mentorship and learning support. Internal workshops by HR and Tech department as well as 3rd part lectures and courses for growth of employee’s skills.
Could you share a notable success story or case study that exemplifies the impact your company has had on a client's business?
Our team support goes much further than the development of the product, we try to help the client’s business case as well by offering experience from that domain or technical improvements. 
One of our clients had a problem with the wrong hardware, hundreds of weight scales had no Bluetooth connectivity options which were necessary for our system to work. Instead of buying hundreds of new scales we made cross cable from RS232 port to Bluetooth and saved the client a lot of money.
What industries do you primarily cater to, and do you have a significant percentage of repeat clients? If so, what is the ratio of repeat clients?
We don’t have a primary industry but we do have a lot of experience in business software, ERP’s etc. Most of our clients, 90%, are repeat clients, if they don’t have a new project then they recommend us to their contacts. For a long time, our only sales advertisement was word of mouth.
What initiatives does your company undertake to foster innovation and stay at the forefront of industry trends? Do you invest in research and development projects?
Our CTO and tech lead team are in charge of reviewing new technologies, frameworks, and other industry trends. The company offers a budget to all employees for visiting events and conferences.
Please share some of the most sought-after services that clients approach your company for.
Product discovery service that includes a team of Product Owners and UI/UX designers was one of our most praised services, as well as an incredibly fast response on dedicated team requests.
How do you build and maintain strong relationships with your clients, and what mechanisms do you have in place for gathering and acting upon client feedback?
We offer good service and try to retain clients with transparent and direct communication about everything. Client feedback is part of employee evaluation.
How has your company adapted to changes and challenges in the business landscape, and what strategies have you employed to ensure resilience and sustainability?
During the latest challenges in IT, we maintained the core of the company – employees. We invested in employee retention and in sales. The future of our company and IT in general is bright but only with much better efficiency and planning.
What payment structure do you typically follow when billing clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, or Pay per Milestone (phases, months, versions, etc.)?
For custom projects, we can work on a fixed cost or time-material basis, depending on client needs. In the case of dedicated team service invoicing is done monthly on the basis of spent billable hours.
Do you accept projects that meet your basic budget requirements? If yes, what is the minimum budget requirement? If no, what is the minimum budget you have worked with in the past?
The size of the project does not determine whether will we work on the project, but the willingness of the client to fulfill all basic prerequisites for a successful project. That would be a minimum team of 3 people (PM, Developer, and QA) and follow the principles of software development.
Can you provide an overview of the price range (minimum and maximum) of the projects your company worked on in 2023?
Custom solution project varies from 40 000€ up to 400 000€. Dedicated team service we invoice monthly and we have teams from 2 to 10 persons with the average hourly price of 40€/h.
What technological capabilities does your company possess, and are there any ongoing or planned investments in technology infrastructure or tools to enhance your services?
Our company has in-house servers mainly used for infrastructure as well as external dedicated servers and cloud infrastructure for testing purposes. Office365 environment is used for email and other cloud services we need, from team collaboration in Teams to OneDrive for file sharing.
Where do you envision your company in the next 10 years? What are your long-term goals and aspirations for growth and development?
By developing good sales and marketing team we anticipate to have more stable and continuous growth in the future. Our goal is to have a stable company with a constant intake of new projects and clients.
