Jatapp succesfully created our lower back pain app.

Our primary concern when collaborating with others is their mindset and communication abilities. And, of course, the quality of the resulting solution. Following our initial interactions with JatApp's team members, we felt that they could deliver the quality of work we were seeking based on their level of expertise.

Our collaboration started with the initial Discovery during which we conducted meetings to work out clear technical requirements for the project. Then, we proceeded with the Design phase. As soon as the design was ready and approved, JatApp's team started the coding phase. Thereafter, the apps were polished and sent for the review to the stores. At the moment, we are in the Maintenace stage of the functioning product.

Describe your project in brief

AudioFysio is a Dutch company that introduced a specialized app against lower back pain. The app contains an online exercise program. It's a 42 day program based on audio and explanatory video's to help people to recover from non-specific back pain and reduce the risk of recurring back complaints. The exercise method used exists for 5 years and is increasingly popular. Today, it is recommended by medical doctors, physiotherapists and spine clinics.

The JatApp team cared about our project as it was their own and ensured effective communication along the way.

We turned to JatApp for building an MVP of a mobile app for identifying plants. We had to develop the app from scratch for iOS and Android. Smooth communication was very important for us because of a lot of initial niche research. They came up with interesting ideas related to functionality. Our first steps were conducting a detailed business analysis along with the market needs research. The results showed that we needed to use AI for plant identification. Other features were payments, user profiles, admin system, plant catalog, chat with specialists, care tips, and push-notifications. JatApp helped us a lot with determining the right stages of development and launch. Thanks to their competence, we’ve seen a large increase in the number of active users in the very first months after the MVP had been launched. They used Agile and Jira to manage our project. The development was divided into two-weeks sprints, which helped to better track the intermediate results of our work.

"We were looking for a tech team experienced in backend development, mobile development, and FoIP. It was particularly important for us to start the development process as fast as possible and follow the Agile principles throughout the enitre project. JatApp successfully managed to cover all our needs.
Together with JatApp, we worked on the development of the application that receives and sends fax messages. The app can also scan documents with a built-in scanner, so it's possible to edit the scanned images. The native mobile application was developed for iOS with Swift, and PHP (Laravel) was used for the backend development.
We released the MVP after 5 months of development, and the app instantly became popular with users. As a result, we started thinking about scaling the product by adding new features and rolling out updates. JatApp really cares about creating a decent product for you.

We agreed to start with a prototype app to flesh out my idea for this new app. After a few changes and refinements the design was approved and we moved onto the production of the MVP. The final app is more than the requirements for an MVP but that was an urge from me to provide a polished product that could then form the basis of the free version of the app meaning any future development could be added to the premium version of the app.

Challenge: The client set a time limit ‒ JatApp had to release the first version of the product in five months. This deadline was successfully met.

About the client: JatApp’s client from Denmark needed an employee engagement application that helps keep in touch with team members and monitor employees' mood. These data allow companies to increase productivity and retention, and lower staff turnover.

Challenge: JatApp had to work with the old app code and make a total refactoring of the app as well as to add new functionality to it to provide its stable and fast work.

Result: with JatApp, the client turned a poorly performing buggy app into a seamless survey solution for employee engagement with a lot of capabilities: workday rating, engagement surveys, gamification features, video feedback. Also, administrators can see the real-time statistics of daily surveys and the percentage of positive and negative responses on the moodfactors scoring panel.

About the client: JatApp’s client is the leading producer of EV charging solutions in Switzerland that they sell and lease to businesses and individuals. They needed a web application that integrates with electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and allows users to operate EV stations, control their performance, and track expenses for electricity.

Challenge: JatApp had to collaborate with the developers on the client’s side to integrate a new system with their existing software and develop a web application that allows the client to manage their charging stations more efficiently, respond to failures faster, and resolve specific problems remotely.

Result: The solution serves three types of users ‒ JatApp’s client’s support administrators, managers of the companies that rented or bought EV charging stations, and end-users ‒ people who set up charging solutions for personal use. All users can perform specific operations to monitor the EV charging stations and deal with issues.

PreQuest - Online Test Preparation Platform

About the client: Brandon Learning Centre is an organization that prepares students for entry into top schools in the UK. They needed a web-based test preparation platform that helps 6-7th-grade students (9 to 12 years old) prepare for the ISEB pre-test to enter independent schools in the UK. This platform had to include a set of online, adaptive tasks covering four areas of study ‒ Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, English, and Math.

Challenge: the platform’s target audience is 9-12-year-old-children, so the design had to be engaging, enjoyable, and usable to attract children. Also, there had to be a platform to be used by parents as well where they could pay for the subscription and track their children’s learning progress.

Result: JatApp created a web-based test preparation platform with a User-friendly and engaging UI/UX design for kids, Gamification features, Child and parent accounts, and an admin system for the whole service.

About the client: A leading company from Denmark in the workplace experience and facility management space wanted to develop iOS and Android applications and a dashboard to report and resolve near misses. The application had to be integrated with the market-leading workplace management solution from IBM.

Challenge: JatApp needed to integrate the application with IBM Tririga Workplace Management System to enable data exchange and prevent the same user information from being duplicated when it’s added into the database.

About the client: Osol is a French company based in Cannes. The startup allows companies, coworking spaces, and educational institutions to rent portable power banks and charging bases. Challenge: The client needed strong technical expertise to make the base and power banks communicate with each other.

What is the story behind starting this company?

Brand JatApp was created in 2015 with the idea of good prospects for outsourcing business. The time to start was good: everything paid off in a year. Outstaffing (a) separate expert(-s) who would be integrated into the in-house Client's team.

To objectively answer this question, it’s better to consider our customers’ feedback on working with us. We pride ourselves on having average satisfaction scores of 4.85 out of 5 but at the same time remain committed to continuous growth and improvement.

We take a range of important steps to deliver a high-quality product that meets all client’s expectations. More specifically, our very first step is to conduct a strategic workshop in order to dig deep into clients’ requirements, better understand their business, reveal the key challenges, and come up with an effective solution. The next step is to conduct comprehensive research and share our findings with a client, thereby making sure that we move forward with the best possible approach.

We also keep the lines of communication open with our clients, which helps to keep everyone on the same page. Regular communication is our answer to completing the project on time and with no hiccups.

What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?

The support system we provide for our clients is imprinted in the legal background of our cooperation. There are 2 legal instruments that provide the further support after completing the active development phase:

The Warranty Certificate - the document that is signed upon the completion of the development and ensures that the JatApp's team dedicated to the Client’s project won't be disbanded within 1 month after the completion of all the works so that it could react within a reasonable amount of time to potential defects that may arise after the product's launch. During that time, JatApp will fix at its own cost any defects that may arise and are provided for by the Scope of Warranty.
The Support Agreement - the document that is signed after the development is completed and the Warranty Certificate is expired; it covers the terms of technical support & maintenance of the functioning product; such terms depend on the particular project's needs.

What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)

We use the Time & Material approach for all types of our projects, be it the development of particular new functionality, refactoring of the existing code, or the creation of the whole software solution from scratch. It has proven to be the most convenient for our clients as they pay only for the number of hours de-facto spent on their project by our experts. Plus, it gives more flexibility to amend the existing or add new scope during the active development phase should the Client’s business needs abruptly change.

Of course, we understand the importance of planning for both time and budget. That’s why, before getting to work, our team always prepares the estimation for the required scope of work so that our clients know what to count on. Change requests from the Client during the development process that affect the initial scope are deemed as extra services and subject to extra payment.

A special case worth mentioning is the Dedicated Team cooperation model where our recruitment team finds the expert(s) who would have the needed skills set and would work for the fixed monthly fee to fit into the Client’s expectations. When the Client approves the expert’s candidacy, we hire him/her as our employee and sign an outstaff contract with the Client stating the exact monthly payment for this expert’s work. We value transparency with our Partners and Clients, so they know the salary we agree on with the particular expert. Our interest in this story is a fixed monthly fee added to the developer's salary. The more experts we provide to the Client under the Dedicated Team model, the less is a fixed monthly fee.

Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?

We are open to all clients because we met many startups which became big companies. Budget is an important factor but most important for us is the understanding of the final result by the client and the ability to build productive cooperation.

What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2021?

It varies from $30K to $500K.

Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?

The software development world changes pretty fast, so it’s difficult even to foresee how it will look in 10 years. But JatApp is a very flexible company that knows how to adapt to any conditions. I’m sure that in 10 years JatApp will be among the leaders in the software development niche working with medium-size enterprises as well as well-known brands around the globe.
