EFFE enables users to not just find coupons on the map while on the move but also save them for later use. Companies/vendors can boost traffic in their stores and encourage first-time visits by joining EFFE. They can view the statistics and analyze the number of coupons redeemed and the user details.

Review Summary

I work with minority owned early stage tech startups in the USA and UK that have historically struggled to fundraise without showing significant early traction or revenues versus non-minority owned. Kiwitech partnership and business model have allowed my early stage tech startups to start building quality deliverables with minimal upfront cash investments. Kiwitech also have a VC ecosystem to support minority tech startups fundraising efforts which is critical to their ability to scale beyond the MVP phase. Overall, I have not encountered another company within the software / system product development space that have a business model that fits so well with the innovation ecosystem and it has served my company very well so far in supporting our clients.

What was the project name that you have worked with KiwiTech?

NursesBnB, a platform to support travel healthcare workers to find and book housing.

What service was provided as part of the project?

Web Development, Software Development, Web Designing (UI/UX)

Describe your project in brief

This project is to build the MVP for early stage tech startup NursesBnB. NursesBnB had not yet secured a significant amount of funding but with Kiwitech’s cash / equity business model we were able to sign a deal to have them provide great value in starting the MVP build for us. This will allow us to show more early stage market traction and build greater investor interest in order to accelerate our future projected growth and execute on our product roadmap in the medium term.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

Cash plus equity model to support early stage tech startups.

Availability of key personnel to quickly scope efforts on new project request.

Quality of communication throughout the project and ability to accommodate changes.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

More detailed market understanding of where the end product will be launched would be helpful.

Review Summary

My startup (Skillpics) was forced into a rebuild after a dreadful experience with a local dev firm in Calgary, Canada. We choose KiwiTech as they were referred to us through another founder who had built tow MedTech startups with KiwiTech. The rebuild was a cost effective way to get our platform back in market and with a scalable foundation. We were very impressed with the collaboration on the designs, project management organization and communication, as well as the code quality. Our build was on time and on budget. Unfortunately, the pandemic derailed our market penetration strategy and we ended up pivoting into a completely new market segment and product, but plan to revive Skillpics in the near future.

What was the project name that you have worked with KiwiTech?

Skillpics wed app rebuild and UI/UX redesign

What service was provided as part of the project?

Software Development, Web Designing (UI/UX)

Describe your project in brief

The project was a rebuild of our current web application Skillpics, with new UI/UX mobile and web screens. Skillpics was a freelance marketplace for students. The engagement was a team based approach, as both of us founders were non-technical. We had a PM, Tech Lead, Backend Dev, Frontend Dev, QA and a UI/UX designer from KiwiTech.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

Very good communication and organization, despite the tech team located off-shore

The code quality was excellent and was the scalable foundation we expected

The UI/UX design work was excellent and the process to execute the screens was collaborative

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

As a team, I felt we did more than the necessary internal QA, but this could have been a result of our own perfectionism

KiwiTech came highly recommended by another partner of theirs who we trust. That recommendation proved out and KiwiTech has met or exceeded our expectations throughout our journey bringing expertise in design, app development for both iOS and Android, web development, and backend development. Our CTO was skeptical going into the project based on prior experiences he'd had with offshore teams but he's now completely converted.

What service was provided as part of the project?

Mobile App Development

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

The high degree of professionalism and ongoing involvement of KiwiTech's senior management in our project

KiwiTech's ability to flex resources as needed to meet our needs while maintaining continuity

The capabilities of the KiwiTech developers who have proven to be both high quality as well as creative problem solvers

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

While we didn't skip a beat, a few of the developers on our project left KiwiTech along the way. This turnover was not disruptive and is not uncommon.

Review Summary

We started with KiwiTech in 2019 to build an MVP for our application. That worked well enough for us to drive a Seed Round in 2021. KiwiTech then built out the system to a working prototype. The web app is stable, robust functions, and provides the functionality for us to continue operating while we are working on a Series A round. We also engaged KiwiTech to create our Mobile App for Android and iOS. This was done in a timely manner and follows the flow of the web app while incorporating features that are native to mobile. We have support contracts with KiwiTech for ongoing operations and maintenance. We are working on designs to enhance the system based on user engagement. This includes proprietary IP we develop inhouse, which KiwiTech is then able to integrate into the app. We expect to be operating with KiwiTech for several more years. The cost-benefit of their teams is amazing and we can't meet it with in-house staff.

What was the project name that you have worked with KiwiTech?
