Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
Mobiteam is specialized in Web Design, WordPress, Web Development, e-Commerce, Corporate, and Personal high-quality websites in Berlin. Our clients get websites that sell, attract, and obtain market and customer’s respect. Mobiteam operates since 2013, has 12 professionals, 3 own startups and 2 exits to US and UK companies in 2017.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
Without hypocrisy – business and decent living. To have both of them well established, we need to deliver high-end quality and a lot of extra miles for our clients, which we do up to this day. As our clients review our work after each project – it looks like we do a great job.
What is your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We work exclusively with our in-house team. We get a lot of inquiries every day to outsource or partnership with third party companies. But we refused and will refuse all of them. The reason is the personal commitment we have for our clients. I promise a high-end project and put my name and reputation in this cooperation, which is why I can’t jeopardize this. We had a few bad experiences in the past, which we learned the lesson. Our clients know that and appreciate the transparency. Not to mention the work they get at the end of the project.
After years of activity, 80% of our new clients are coming through Google search. We are on Page 1, position 1 if somebody searches on “Web Design Agency Berlin” or “Web Development Company Berlin”. And that is of great help.

How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
Our business model is pretty straight forward. We and our many competitors are not in the SaaS business to differentiate and create or improve the tools we have, to add new features, payment plans, better experience, added value, etc. We are all service providers. And what matters here is the communication, trust, the experience, and the end result. Only around these 4 topics, an agency can differ from the other one. Those who worked with us felt it and enjoyed it, I guarantee.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive?
We have a very close relationship with our clients, and despite the fact some of them will never need another online project, we keep a warm relationship, talk and maintain and a friendly connection. At this stage – this is more important than a repeating project as we have enough of them in the pipeline.
In regard to the industries we focus, it is vast. We enjoy creating e-Commerce websites, and we are good at it. Nonetheless, there are clients who need much simpler projects, even landing pages for their lawyer or dentist offices. We are fine to deliver that as well, at the end of the day, we dilute the pure coding with some pleasant interface and more colors.

How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a web app?
Obviously, there is not an exact answer. However, on average, it takes at least twice the time we needed to design the interface. But often 300% more than the design itself.
Which platform and technologies do you prefer to use in development of your web apps?
On a daily basis, we work with:
a. GIT and mightful Git-flow, PHP or Node.js for server-side development
b. SCSS (along with NPM, and webpack), Vue.js, React for the frontend
c. React Native, Kotlin, and Swift for mobile development
d. Design Systems with components for the complex UI approach, prototyping, and processing feedback in Axure, Marvel, creating the design in Sketch and, occasionally, Adobe XD.
We follow the LEAN methodology, Scrum process inside the team, and MVP as a way to test the product fast.

Do you offer website design templates or customised website design, and do you have a responsive website design?
Some of you probably heard of Teslathemes.com. We are the founders of Teslathemes, which we made an exit in 2017 to a US Company. That is why, for some cases like a limited budget from our clients or limited time to bring the project live, we might also use a Premium WP Template.
However, we recommend and prefer a fully custom design, from many points of view.

Which Content Management System do you prefer to use (Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal etc)?
We enjoy WordPress. Occasionally when there is a client in need, we will deliver a Drupal project as well.
Do you provide website maintenance services?
All our clients get 1-month Free support and maintenance. And then either on a monthly basis or on-demand. Looking back for a statistic, I would say most of our clients prefer to have an on-demand support relationship with us. We have a ticketing system where they submit the tickets, and we perform from there. The services are broad, from a new slider to SEO or Page Speed optimization.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a web application?
Client’s real needs, The future of his or her online website, The time we need to invest in the project, The dedicated team for the project, and Technologies and Management. One of the flexibility points here we can show is the possibility to adjust to the client’s budget.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
The clients are paying us per Milestones and increments. After years of using this model, we understood that both the client and we feel pretty comfortable with this model. Other models turned out to be a pain for both, hard to track and understand. At the end of the day, we need to focus on the project and not calculating every few days how much should we paid.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
A decisional factor in accepting or rejecting a specific project from a client – is the project concept itself and the client. If we feel a smooth connection with him, if there is a professional approach from both sides, and if the project has an impact on the market – we are happy to move forward. Of course, like any other business, we are looking for profit, only non-profit organization can work exclusively for the social impact. However, what distinguishes us, the amount of profit we might take from one project to the other. It varies a lot and depends on many factors.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in2018?
We have some clients that are with us from day one. For this reason, we take absolutely all the tasks and inquiries they have. No matter how small they are. It can be a Twitter integration feed only this month. It’s OK, we will do that. This is how we can show them our appreciation for trusting us when we only started. On the other side, there are big corporate clients, with whom we work on different speed and agreements, obviously.
To draw the line – we treat all our clients the same respect and attention. This is a professional habit we learned on the way, these years. The constant communication, transparency in the problems or bottleneck we have, make them feel well working with us. Maybe that is because we like what we do.
