Design a video series to promote IELTS with British Council.


Renowned globally, the British Council is a prominent UK organization connecting people with learning and creativity. Since 1951, it has been active in 110 countries, including Bangladesh, focusing notably on the IELTS program and Teaching Center. Post-pandemic, the need for a video production agency for IELTS promotion allowed us to cross paths once again.


The problem
In 2021, following a successful IELTS video series campaign, British Council Bangladesh wanted to launch another campaign that would focus on IELTS and how it has helped test-takers over the years. For years, British Council has devised creative ways to inform its audience about its services and products, which was the case for this assignment.


The solution
Planning the campaign

When we were thinking about showcasing the impact of IELTS, one of the key findings was the role of validation in our lives. With testimonials and sharing of real experiences from candidates, we could better inform the audience and feel aspects in a more relatable and real way.
 

So with the help of the British Council, we invited 6 guests who took the IELTS test with the British Council previously to share their thoughts. We coupled them with a special host, Parisa Shakur, who is well-known for her public speaking and versatile academic journey.


Scripting and Video Production
Once we knew what core information we wanted the audience to be aware of, we divided them into 6 episodes for easier access. We drafted questions and pointers to help our performing guests. The flow of the one-on-one episodes was lively, informative, and simple.

The hosting platform was British Council Bangladesh’s YouTube and Facebook handles and we also created teasers to promote the series to the Facebook audience. We created adaptations for reels and promoted them during the campaign.

Results
Although the campaign was designed for 3 months, the impact of the series is still felt as there is a gradual increase in the number of viewers. The series attracted more than 380 thousand views on YouTube and is nearing 6 million views on Facebook. The campaign invited many queries from interested candidates, steering knowledge-sharing conversations benefiting everyone following on the way.

The video series played a key role in revitalizing the importance of IELTS to the budding generations and how the British Council is ready to help them.

Based in Toronto, Canada, Sarto is a brand which provides high quality, customized suits for men. After establishing a loyal customer base in Toronto, they expanded to Dhaka, Bangladesh. From ready-made suits to quick customized ones, Sarto offers a wide range of suits for their customers. Moreover, they have their own in-house tailor who customizes the suit on the spot as per the client’s need. From entering the store to exiting it, Sarto ensures that the customers receive a service befitting them.


The problem
As a new brand, Sarto had little awareness in the Bangladeshi market. Moreover, the name ‘Sarto’ was a common one with many similar brands having the same name. They wanted to model themselves after Massimo Dutti and Sabysachi but also create their own unique identity online. For that, they needed more brand awareness and a launch plan.


The solution
Strategy & planning
We studied the market for suits and the factors people, especially men, consider before buying one. Young adults or corporate professionals have to look good all day long so they prefer ready-made suits. We asked a few people in the target audience and found out that they prefer to purchase suits from the stores nearest to them. Fitting is also a big factor in the decision making. Moreover, the main audience is young, ambitious, and impatient millennials who want fast services.

So we prepared a style guide for the brand to give it a fixed identity. The tagline chosen by the client was ‘Suits Re-invented’ and based on that, Notionhive created the strategy and pinpointed all the digital touchpoints of the audience to promote our message to them. A kinetic typography animation brand film was created to launch Sarto and communicate its core message to re-invent suits. We used preppy music to resonate with the young audience and used carefully chosen color palettes to attract them on digital platforms.
 

Photoshoot
The client scheduled a photoshoot with popular model, Zawad Wasee. Using the photos, we created a series of static, albums, and dynamic with particular emphasis on the journey of stylizing a suit. The page followers were able to scroll through the photos seamlessly to follow each post’s story.


Digital platforms
Based on Sarto’s previous experience in Toronto, it was decided that Instagram was the best choice for the brand. To fully utilize Instagram, we created grids by following the style guide and ensured consistency in every content. The content was optimized as per audience behavior on each platform to efficiently promote the brand. 

We also used Facebook for direct sales by using experiential marketing. The photos were strategically placed in albums and dynamic in order to tell the audience a story of each product. The page followers could reach out directly through inbox to order. We created a smooth pathway for the potential customers to provide fast services to them. However, we also promoted the overall ambience of the store to drive more footfall. 


Media buying
Through detailed targeting, we set the audience to men between the ages of 25 to 35. They are young professionals or fashion conscious individuals who frequently purchase suits. The outlet’s location is in Banani so we targeted the tri-state parts of Dhaka. We set our KPI to increasing brand reach, number of inbox messages, query management, and social media engagement. The budget set was $500.


Results
In the first month, the Facebook page reach exceeded 972,096. Instagram reach was 113,990 and both platforms crossed 2,000 followers. The predominant target audience was male. We generated 4,400 queries out of which 2,500 people directly messaged our inbox. Our Community Management team created the rest of the conversations by diverting inquiries from the comments to the page’s inbox.

Organize a launch campaign for Teachmint in Bangladesh

Teachmint is a web-based teaching platform developed to assist schools, teachers, students, and parents in their relevant academic journeys. The platform consists of a website and an application that enables its users to benefit from its features like creating lesson plans, tracking progress, and distributing resources along with its core functions of taking online classes with ease. Throughout their brief journey, they have identified video production for marketing to be one of the most effective ways to attract an audience.

The problem
Teachmint, following its successful inception in India, wanted to launch the product in Bangladesh during the pandemic late in 2021. The brand wanted to reach out to the mass audience continuing their academic journey online, either through teaching, learning, or practicing. The task was to communicate the platform’s arrival to as many teachers as possible in a short period.


The solution
Research and Writing
Research showed that one of the most popular Teachmint commercials in India had a Bollywood superstar featured in it. However, the local market in Bangladesh was seen to take a product more seriously when a field-relevant individual vouched for the product – in this case, a teacher. This finding led us to contact an influencing teacher who is also active on social media to communicate the message to the mass audience. 

We wrote a localized script and plated an inspiring storyline that would be used to inform the audience about the arrival of the platform. We also included the mention of a few important features of the product and blended them together to make a compelling case to the audience in Bangladesh.

Video production

Keeping the tone of the brand in mind, we designed bright sets and portrayed different genres of teachers in their respective workspaces. The flowing structure of the script threaded together the different ways the platform could be used by teachers, students, and parents.

The final video produced was also adapted to suit different features of social media platforms such as statics, reels, and shorts to expand the reach of the message to the audience.

Results
The video campaign gained more than 1 million views with more than 3K reactions only on Facebook excluding the numbers of reels and shorts. The platform made its way to partner up with the popular local edu-tech brand Shikho which is home to thousands of teachers in Bangladesh. Moreover, Teachmint has expanded its wings to 30 countries now making it one of the most successful educational start-ups in the world.

Maplebus.ca is an intercity bus service that operates in the Canadian region. They offer express, local, and charter buses between major cities in Ontario and Quebec. They also provide parcel services. 


The problem
Maple bus came to us to make their website more user-friendly and intuitive. Their site wasn't able to connect the users to the services they offered. They wanted a website that could provide an all-in-one ride-sharing service to their customers and the customers could freely choose the type of service they wanted!


The solution
We built an integrated system within the website so that customers may choose their starting point and destination, as well as the time and bus availability, and the cost of the journey.

There is also a submission system introduced for parcel and chartered rides. A profile management system was added with built-in guidelines and customer support.

Results
The Maple bus website was transformed into a user-centric platform with improved functionality and customer support. Customers gave positive feedback and they appreciated the new design.
