Quinlan & Fabish Music Company

In 1959, fellow music educators George Quinlan and Tom Fabish joined forces and launched Quinlan & Fabish Music Company. The goal was to assist and guide Chicago area school music programs and students. Nearly 60 years later, the Quinlan family remains dedicated to honoring their father’s guiding principles and legacy.

Now with nine stores throughout three Midwest states, Quinlan & Fabish Music Company remains focused on making it easier for students to participate in Band and Orchestra through outstanding service and community partnerships.

Solution

Orases worked with Q&F to create a modern, cleanly designed website that can be managed in their existing Megatool. The new website is able to accommodate web sales, rentals, rental payments and invoice payments, and provides the client with multiple site templates to manage their specialty shops. Customers can sign in to their accounts to view open invoices and make payments.

The new site is integrated into the client’s inventory systems to keep all of their systems aligned and up to date. The site utilizes a simple PHP back end with a JavaScript front end and is hosted on an Elastic Computing instance EC2 on AWS.

Process

This project was developed through an Agile process in which Orases utilized a Critical Path approach. By knowing the critical path, we were able to keep the scope of the project focused on the items that needed to be done to deliver the site as soon as possible and to keep the client's goals at the center of the development approach.

Solution

Orases built a new web-based application scoring tool featuring a questionnaire divided into 11 categories. Each category contains three to five questions that contribute to the category’s overall score and an algorithm applicable to that category.

Upon completion of the assessment, there is a summary page with a score for each category with the lowest scored category highlighted. The overall score will be the lowest category score. The assessment is access-controlled to existing AAMI members and to non-members who opt to purchase the assessment.

The self-assessment also provides instructional content to help the users create a roadmap for future development and movement toward higher levels. Departments that score at Level 5 in all categories are programs that demonstrate best practices in HTM.

Process

This project was noted in the SOW as using Agile methodology to define and develop. However, AAMI had provided a thorough requirements document upfront, and we had a lean team (no BA on the project). We (DPM Trista, Developer Vlad, BD Ray) collaborated with AAMI on the remaining requirements and once signoff was received, we developed a more Hybrid method. We developed on a rolling basis, meeting with the client once a week to show and discuss progress.

Treatments offered by Orthocare include 3D scanning, design, and 3D printing to fit the unique needs of each individual patient. Orthocare Solutions’ software system, 365™ Ortho, streamlines the ordering process for orthotic and prosthetic components and supplies. The software allows physicians to track the order from start to finish in one convenient location. Orthocare Solutions offers nationwide support for the software and can be customized based on each physician’s specific needs.

K2M is a global medical device company focused on designing, developing, and commercializing innovative complex and minimally invasive spine technologies and techniques. Their products and processes are used by spine surgeons to treat some of the most difficult and challenging spinal pathologies in the world. K2M has leveraged its core competencies to create more than 350 issued and pending patents for patients suffering from degenerative spinal conditions. These technologies and techniques, in combination with a robust product pipeline, enable the company to favorably compete in the global spinal surgery market.

The National Football League (NFL) Foundation represents all 32 NFL teams to support athletes, youth, and the local communities they serve throughout the United States. The Foundation receives a set budget each year that they award through various grant programs like the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, the Don Shula NFL Coach of the Year Award, and a variety of youth football grants, high school honor roll grants, and more. Since 1973, over $368 million dollars has been contributed by the NFL Foundation, NFL Charities, and the NFL Youth Football Fund, for things like community athletic fields, support for athletic trainers in underserved schools, and many other important causes throughout the country.

Service Coordination Inc. (SCI) is a nonprofit organization providing quality case management services for people with disabilities, veterans, and other groups. SCI helps nearly 12,000 individuals in the state of Maryland understand their choices and connects them to resources within their communities in ways that respect their dignity and rights. In order to provide the best quality of care possible, SCI builds lasting relationships with clients and partners.

NFL Flag Football was created by USA Football to get kids safely playing football at an early age. Players benefit by being physically active through non-contact, continuous action, while learning the fundamentals of football, with lessons in teamwork and sportsmanship. The national program allows kids to play in jerseys with NFL logos and draws over 1,000 leagues each year throughout the United States.

Major League Baseball (MLB) holds a powerful and unique place in the cultural fabric of America, and continues to endear itself to millions of fans across the country. The organization’s commitment to the people and communities that support it is as strong as their fan’s love for the game. Its Pitch Hit & Run (PHR) competition is a free one-day event that encourages and supports young boys and girls across the country to play and enjoy the game. Local events are held at parks, schools, and community venues, while the team championship level events are held at all 30 MLB ballparks, giving children the exciting opportunity to showcase their abilities on the same field that they watch their favorite home team players on.

The Bartley Corporation pioneered concrete foundation construction to the Maryland metropolitan area. Orases created a Operations Dashboard that motivates team members and increases overall employee engagement
