Large-Scale Digital Platforms and Applications

reroDev is a digital studio that designs and develops large-scale digital ecosystems for cities, publishers, and organizations that require more than standalone websites or applications. We specialize in building integrated platforms where strategy, content structure, design, and engineering function as a unified system.

Our core work includes city branding supported by digital platforms, editorial and academic publishing systems, mobile applications, narrative-driven games, and location-based augmented reality projects. These systems are designed to express identity, organize complex content, and scale across web, mobile, and emerging technologies.

We work end-to-end, covering research, strategy, system architecture, design, and development. Our approach prioritizes long-term usability, clarity, and maintainability, ensuring that the products we build remain functional and relevant over time rather than serving as short-term visual solutions.

reroDev has delivered internationally recognized interactive projects, including Odyssey: Sakutaiso, which secured second place in the Mobile Games category at the Central and Eastern European Game Awards (CEEGA) and was a finalist at BLONfest. Our portfolio also includes city-level platforms supporting tourism, publishing, and public communication.

While our primary focus is on city-scale and publishing ecosystems, we also collaborate with organizations outside the cultural sector when projects require complex system design, non-standard digital solutions, or strong structural and narrative thinking. We work with clients who value depth, coherence, and integrated delivery across platforms.

This project represents an ongoing collaboration between reroDev and Diogene, one of Georgia’s most established and respected publishing houses, which has been active in the national literary market for over 30 years.

reroDev develops original book cover illustrations as part of Diogene’s contemporary publishing program. The work focuses on illustration-driven visual concepts created in alignment with the publisher’s long-standing editorial standards and literary positioning.

Each cover is treated as an interpretive visual work rather than a decorative artwork. The process involves close reading of the texts, thematic analysis, and the construction of symbolic imagery that supports the narrative while maintaining the seriousness and cultural weight associated with Diogene’s catalogue.

This collaboration reflects institutional trust and continuity. Working with one of Georgia’s leading publishers positions reroDev within the professional literary and cultural publishing ecosystem and demonstrates the studio’s ability to contribute meaningfully to established editorial traditions through contemporary illustration. The resulting covers are integrated into Diogene’s active publishing program, reinforcing visual continuity while introducing a refined, modern illustrative language.

This project delivered a full-scale city branding and place marketing system for Kutaisi, positioning it as one of the first cities in Georgia to be developed as a structured, long-term marketing product. reroDev led the project end-to-end, covering research, brand strategy, visual identity, and implementation planning.

The objective was to modernize the city’s image, strengthen its cultural identity, and support tourism growth while remaining rooted in Kutaisi’s historical and cultural context. A research-driven process identified cultural heritage as the city’s key differentiator, which became the foundation of the brand positioning.

The core deliverable was an 82-page brand book defining brand principles, tone, and application rules. A flexible visual identity system was developed, comprising over 90 logo variations, designed for use across official documents, public events, festivals, urban installations, and digital platforms. This ensured consistency while allowing practical adaptability.

reroDev also produced applied assets such as signage templates, official communication materials, and promotional visuals. The scope extended beyond design to include urban activation concepts, seasonal cultural events, and thematic festival proposals. A supporting social media strategy focused on storytelling and visual coherence to strengthen digital visibility and engagement.

The impact was structural rather than cosmetic. Kutaisi saw increased digital visibility, stronger public engagement, and wider recognition of city-led initiatives. Training sessions enabled municipal teams to apply and maintain the brand independently.

The result was a scalable branding system that provided Kutaisi with a clear strategic direction and established a benchmark for city branding in Georgia.

Phantoms: Extraordinary Exhibition is a location-based augmented reality experience developed for the city of Kutaisi. The project transforms urban space into an open-air digital exhibition by placing AR sculptures, historical figures, texts, and visual interventions directly into the city’s streets, monuments, and buildings, all accessed through a mobile application.

The exhibition overlays digital “phantoms” onto real architectural and urban contexts, turning specific locations into exhibition sites. These AR elements appear exclusively through the mobile app, creating encounters between the contemporary city and its layered historical presence. Each intervention is placed deliberately, responding to the physical context, scale, and atmosphere of its location.

The project is grounded in archival research and contemporary digital art. Rather than reconstructing history literally, Phantoms introduces interpretive visual layers that reveal hidden narratives and historical references embedded within the city. The focus is on spatial meaning and contextual awareness rather than fictional storytelling.

Phantoms also functions as an in-app audiovisual experience. Alongside AR visuals, the application features integrated music players and media sections presenting historic Kutaisi melodies, archival audio, and short video fragments drawn from films connected to the city. These in-app elements expand the experience beyond visuals, reintroducing voices, atmospheres, and everyday life from different eras.

Developed at the intersection of digital art, spatial design, and interactive technology, Phantoms: Extraordinary Exhibition operates simultaneously as a cultural exhibition, a public art intervention, and a city-scale digital archive experienced through real urban space.

Odyssey: Sakutaiso is a mobile game trilogy conceived and developed end to end by reroDev as a digital art and cultural storytelling project dedicated to Kutaisi, one of Georgia’s most historically significant cities. The project combines game design, illustration, music, and narrative into a unified interactive experience.

The goal was to translate Kutaisi’s historical and artistic identity into an accessible interactive format. The trilogy is structured so that each chapter represents a different historical and artistic layer of the city, expressed through distinct visual styles, gameplay mechanics, and sound design.

The first chapter draws on the myth of the Argonauts and uses an aesthetic influenced by Asian puppet theater. Players guide the Argo ship through storm-driven seas staged as a theatrical performance, collecting symbolic elements associated with the Golden Fleece.

The second chapter explores late 19th- and early 20th-century Kutaisi. Its central figure is inspired by a boy from a classic Georgian film shot in the city. Players move through watercolor-illustrated streets and landmarks, collecting symbolic objects tied to the city’s cultural memory.

The third chapter draws inspiration from theatrical and avant-garde traditions and features the Winged Painter, a character originating from the works of Petre Otskheli, adapted into an interactive, nocturnal environment.

Each chapter features an original soundtrack created specifically for its narrative context.

Within two months of release, Odyssey: Sakutaiso ranked between 2nd and 5th place in global mobile game charts. The trilogy was a finalist at the 2024 Central and Eastern European Game Awards (CEEGA), securing second place in the mobile games category, and was also a finalist at BLONfest in the Aware Games Award category.

The soundtracks for Odyssey: Sakutaiso are central to the game’s identity, blending music, poetry, and gameplay into a cultural art project. Created for a mobile game trilogy celebrating Kutaisi’s history and art, these compositions transcend gaming, becoming standalone works of cultural significance.

The goal was to craft original music that complemented the game’s themes while deepening emotional engagement. Using Ableton Live, we composed three tracks tailored to each chapter, combining traditional Georgian poetry with modern production to create a cohesive, immersive atmosphere.

The first track, Samdumaro, is an ethno-electronic piece inspired by ancient myths and stormy seas, featuring haunting arrangements and poetic lyrics. Photons, the second track, reflects urban solitude through minimalist electronic beats and spoken-word poetry. The final track, pOST pUNKISH ghame, is an energetic post-punk composition, blending vivid lyrics with dynamic rhythms to conclude the trilogy on a powerful note.

The soundtracks gained recognition beyond the game, released as a standalone album embraced by Kutaisi’s youth and regularly played in local venues. They transformed Odyssey: Sakutaiso into a multi-dimensional art project, integrating sound, visuals, and storytelling.

These compositions showcase our expertise in sound design and audio engineering, proving how music can elevate a project, bridging art, tradition, and technology to create a lasting cultural impact.

Kultura! is a monthly digital city magazine developed as a long-term editorial and design product by reroDev, documenting and interpreting the cultural life of Kutaisi. The project demonstrates expertise in editorial branding, illustration, and visual storytelling.

reroDev developed the magazine’s name, identity, and visual system. Kultura! is the Georgian word for “culture” written in Latin script, chosen for clarity, recognizability, and international readability. The magazine’s visual language balances editorial tradition with modern digital execution, allowing it to function effectively across digital distribution and print-ready formats.

Each monthly issue features a distinct cover illustration representing the most significant cultural event of that period. Covers are created through a structured process beginning with hand-drawn sketches, followed by vector illustration and controlled texturing to achieve a timeless, vintage-inspired aesthetic. Symbolic imagery is used to reflect both the featured event and the city’s cultural identity.

In addition to covers, reroDev produces interior illustrations for articles, combining original artwork with digitized archival materials and custom graphic elements. All visuals are designed to support editorial content while maintaining a cohesive visual language across issues. Typography is selected to complement the illustrations and ensure readability in the magazine’s bilingual Georgian and English format.

Kultura! has become one of Georgia’s most recognizable digital cultural publications, engaging tens of thousands of readers each month. Its distinctive covers and consistent visual identity have established it as a key platform for cultural journalism and a central element of Kutaisi’s contemporary cultural presence.

Chiora is an arcade-style mobile game conceived and developed by reroDev as a digital art project that reinterprets Georgian cultural and typographic heritage through interactive media. The game blends vintage Georgian visual culture with contemporary digital aesthetics, drawing heavily on the country’s historical printing and poster traditions.

The project was envisioned as a modern reinterpretation of historical artifacts using a mobile game as the medium. To achieve this, reroDev digitized and transformed over 600 original artifacts sourced from the Georgian National Archives. These materials, including posters, letters, theater advertisements, and typographic fragments, were reworked into a cohesive postmodern game world.

Historical visuals were repurposed to construct every layer of the game environment, from skies and landscapes to obstacles, characters, and the main protagonist. The result is a distinctive visual language where archival materials and contemporary digital illustration coexist seamlessly.

Gameplay is structured as an endless runner, where players guide a paper bird through stylized Georgian streets rendered with vintage graphic elements. Players collect Georgian coins to increase scores and extend gameplay after collisions, creating an accessible experience suitable for a wide audience.

The audio layer plays a central role in the game’s identity. The original soundtrack combines electronic composition with traditional Georgian musical elements and incorporates historic audio recordings, including speeches by Noe Zhordania and archival poetry readings. This integration strengthens the game’s cultural depth and reinforces its nostalgic yet experimental tone. The project demonstrates how mobile games can function as contemporary cultural artifacts, preserving historical material through interactive storytelling.

This project involved the creation of a series of vintage-style commemorative posters developed for the Imereti Destination Management Organization. The posters were designed to mark anniversaries of prominent Georgian historical figures and were distributed primarily through social media channels as part of a broader cultural awareness initiative.

The objective was to visually honor key cultural figures while presenting historical material in a form accessible and engaging to contemporary audiences. reroDev was responsible for historical research, visual concept development, archival restoration, typography, and final digital production.

The process began with in-depth archival research. Original historical photographs were sourced, digitized, and carefully restored. Digital techniques were applied to preserve authenticity while introducing controlled textures, tonal adjustments, and atmospheric treatments consistent with a timeless, vintage visual language.

Custom typography was designed for each poster to reflect the historical context of the featured figure and ensure stylistic cohesion. All materials were produced bilingually in Georgian and English, providing historical context and expanding accessibility for international audiences.

The campaign achieved strong organic performance. When published without paid promotion, individual posters generated approximately 2,000 to 3,000 organic interactions per post, demonstrating high audience engagement and resonance. The visuals were widely shared and praised for reintroducing historical figures through emotionally compelling and contemporary visual storytelling.

This project demonstrates reroDev’s ability to translate archival materials into impactful cultural communication. By combining historical accuracy with modern design execution, the posters preserved cultural memory while achieving measurable engagement in digital public spaces.

The objective was to visually honor national celebrations while translating their historical and cultural meaning into contemporary graphic language suitable for digital dissemination.

reroDev approached the project by combining modern design techniques with traditional Georgian visual elements. The posters blended hand-drawn illustration and digital composition, incorporating restored archival materials alongside Georgian calligraphy, ornamental patterns, and symbolic motifs. Each design was tailored to its specific theme, using color, texture, and composition to reflect the character of the celebration, from earthy tones referencing Motsameta Monastery to bold reds associated with traditional Georgian garments on National Costume Day.

Custom typography was developed to align with each poster’s historical context, reinforcing authenticity while maintaining visual clarity. All posters were produced in bilingual formats, ensuring accessibility for both Georgian and international audiences.

When shared organically on social media, the posters achieved strong audience engagement and were widely praised for their originality and respectful representation of Georgian cultural heritage. Spacy is one of the earliest fully developed mobile games produced in Georgia, representing a formative milestone in the country’s emerging game development ecosystem. Conceived and developed by reroDev, the project blends interactive gameplay with literary narrative, visual art, and original music, establishing an early example of cross-disciplinary game design in the region.

The concept was built around a hybrid format that combined a minimalist arcade game with an original magical realism novel. Rather than separating gameplay and narrative, progression within the game unlocked chapters of the story, transforming player advancement into a literary reward system and deepening long-term engagement.

The visual direction was designed as a calm, immersive cosmic environment. Hand-crafted glowing stars, planets, and moons were placed within an infinite space backdrop, creating the impression of navigating a living digital painting. The aesthetic emphasized atmosphere and emotional tone over spectacle, reinforcing the game’s contemplative rhythm.

Gameplay mechanics were intentionally simple yet demanding. Players pilot a spacecraft through open space, avoiding asteroids, collecting tools, and surviving increasingly complex sequences. This balance of accessibility and challenge supported the narrative structure, encouraging repeated play to unlock additional story content.

The original electronic soundtrack played a central role in the experience. Composed specifically for the game, the music evolves alongside gameplay, enhancing immersion and reinforcing the emotional arc of both the visual environment and the unfolding narrative.

As one of Georgia’s first mobile games, Spacy helped define an early creative benchmark for the local industry. Its fusion of art, literature, music, and interaction demonstrated how mobile games could function as expressive cultural products, contributing to the growth of experimental game development in the region.

In 2023, we produced Memorial of Kutaisi, a full-length documentary exploring the rise and fall of the Glory Memorial, a monument unveiled in 1981 and demolished in 2009 to make way for Georgia’s Parliament. This ambitious project combined historical research, cinematography, archival restoration, original soundtracks, and graphic design to deliver a powerful narrative blending history and art.

The goal was to create a historically accurate yet visually engaging documentary that incorporated silent cinema aesthetics and restored visuals. Our team managed the entire production, conducting shoots in two cities, selecting historically significant locations, and capturing interviews with key figures, including the monument’s project leader and a local historian. These interviews became the film’s emotional core.

We restored degraded archival footage using AI, reviving its details in high definition and seamlessly integrating it with newly filmed content. Silent cinema elements, including custom-designed intertitles styled after early 20th-century aesthetics, provided contextual storytelling during wordless sequences, blending vintage and modern cinematic techniques.

The film’s auditory experience featured six original music pieces combining electronic and post-punk styles, enhancing silent segments and immersing viewers in its emotional atmosphere. The haunting, meditative soundtrack complemented the visuals, deepening the narrative impact.

The documentary’s reception sparked widespread discussion and inspired a public petition advocating for the monument’s restoration, highlighting its cultural and social significance. Memorial of Kutaisi demonstrates our ability to blend research, artistry, and technical expertise to create impactful, meaningful projects that preserve history while inspiring dialogue.
