Challenge

The client came to us with a document that spelled out all the functionality they want to see in the tool. Our task was to make this tool as easy to use as possible. We also had to make it stylistically neutral so that it would fit into entirely different platforms.

Design process

Our team worked on the UI and UX of the editor. We made it so that any user can use the tool. We thought over the navigation and structure of the product and made the design so that the tool could look organically on any site and any platform.

Results

After several stages of testing, the tool was successfully put into operation. We have managed to make a perfect tool for any environment so users will make the most of it.

CHALLENGE

Although offering such versatile activities on-site, the village lacked an important part - a modern-looking, visually pleasing, and user-friendly website that will guide website visitors on what they can find, expect, and experience if they visit the Hua Quan Village.

RESULTS

We improved website navigation and made it user-friendly and appealing. By building a clear and logical system for interaction with the user, we improved the usability and responsiveness of the site so that visitors could view the website easily from any device. Also, we added up-to-date information about the place, its locations, classes, and experiences offered.

In collaboration with photographers and copywriters, we created a stylish and easy-to-navigate website that attracted both Chinese and international visitors.

CHALLENGE

The client needed a solution for B2B and B2C businesses that would simplify their communication with customers and allow posting customer reviews directly to Google Maps and Facebook.

RESULTS

Northell created a high-end reputation management web app with a user-friendly workflow, stylish design, and advanced account settings for businesses. As a logo, we decided to use Tui, a small and bright bird native to Australia since the client is based in Australia. The frame in which the bird was placed symbolizes the review frame.

Zettlo needed the app re-design to make it more user-friendly and engaging for users, both individuals and companies that can create challenges on the platform. RESULTS

After conducting in-depth research and analytics, we recreated the customer journey map to improve the user experience and reworked the design of the Zettlo app to turn it into a social platform with engaging gamification features.

Challenge:

The client came to us only with an idea. First of all, together with the client, we built the entire structure of the platform.

Then we started creating wireframes to understand what functionality there should be, how exactly it should work, what we need in the MVP version and what we need to remove from there.

Results:

We built the whole system for two parties – for the client and the adviser. We worked on a marketing website and then created a design.

Now the project is still in the process. Our next steps are to create a responsive design and translate the platform to Hebrew.

JustAskme is a project that emphasizes the power of questions and answers that allow getting to know someone better and with fun. The JustAskme website connects fans with their favorite artists, creators, influencers, friends, and even crushes. The influencers, in turn, get the opportunity to earn by answering questions from their auditory.

CHALLENGE

JustAskMe needed a user-friendly and stylish website to familiarize the users with the opportunity, engage them in active social participation, and convey the value of the platform to both the creators and their audiences.

RESULTS

We created an engaging and stylish platform that allows users to connect with their favorite artists and influencers and receive answers to their questions. What’s more, the website was built responsive not only for users but convenient for the front-end developer and the client’s team. Thus, the JustAskMe team can perform website maintenance and further development with the web design created by Northell.

The logo had to be unique, memorable, and easy to recognize. We decided to transform the title of the project, with “ask” in focus. As the main palette, we chose a vivid violet theme with a gradient background and friendly illustrations to highlight that the platform is meant for a young audience that keeps us with the trends, loves to communicate and explore new things, and active both in real life and social media.

CHALLENGE

The Nomos project needed a UI/UX design for a full-featured interactive tool for informing users about aircraft noise levels around Ukrainian airports, depending on the distance from the noise source to the selected area, as well as the conditions and restrictions for urban development in the selected area due to aircraft noise.

RESULTS

The task was to create not only a simple and user-friendly UI/UX design for a website with real-time information on aircraft noise levels shown on an interactive map of Ukraine. The map had to be zoomed in and out to identify a particular address of interest and clearly highlight the contours of areas with particular noise levels around the airports.

Our Northell team created an informative and user-friendly website design that can be easily viewed from desktop and mobile devices. The design meets modern trends and requirements of government websites.

Whether the visitor is someone interested in noise levels around their place of living, or some business representatives planning urban construction on new territories, the Nomos site provides clear information on real-time aircraft noise figures and their explanation.

CHALLENGE

Racers360 needed a more user-friendly and attractive design for the web app to provide a better experience to their learners and coaches.

RESULTS

During the research, we understood that the web app lacked an essential functionality: separate interfaces for authorized users and coaches. Therefore, we developed two different solutions with relevant functionality for racing enthusiasts who wanted to get professional advice on their video, as well as for coaches who were reviewing lap and race videos submitted by the learners.

This allowed us to make the system much more convenient to use for both parties. Also, we added gamification elements and achievements to make the experience on the platform even more enjoyable.

We had to understand how all items should interact with each other, what information is essential to show, and what we should hide, etc.

  • UI challenge

The company came to us with its own style. But during the work on logic, they had the opportunity to communicate with potential customers and receive advice from users.

As a result, they decided to update the style of the platform, as the initial style guides became not relevant. Northell team helps think over how the platform should look like.

The design needed to be minimalistic, gender-neutral and stylish.

Results

According to all customer’s requirements, first of all, we build a sitemap to see how the structure of the platform would look like and to understand what list of features we should add.

Then we created wireframes to understand what we need on the platform and what we should remove from there. After all details, we were creating design and responsive design.

Review Summary

We pivoted our product over the last year and a half. We hired Northell in September of 2021 and worked with them over several months to completely redesign our product from the ground up. They helped take often not fully thought through feature / functionality ideas and craft those into a cohesive product. The Northell team helped us build out our user personals and map their flow through the application, they conducted user interviews with some of our clients to further help define and scope the product we are building.

The quality of the work they provided for us was extremely high. They were extremely professional and very easy to work with. We were able to have regular meetings during the mornings when our schedules overlapped. We were extremely satisfied with their work. The designs were beautifully rendered to the point we felt confident using them in sales presentations to tease the future to our clients and prospects.

Review Summary

We engaged Northell to deliver a new eCommerce website design. We needed a responsive website that was clear and functional and a workflow that would ensure a frictionless purchase experience. Northell delivered what we wanted with exceptional skill and dedication. Even when they were faced with resourcing issues (and geo-political headwinds) they were quickly resolved and had no impact on the quality and timing of the deliverables.

Web Designing (UI/UX)

Describe your project in brief

Opening up an eCommerce website for a UK-based company, which has a heritage in B2B, and wants to grow with a direct-to-consumer offering. Can't be more specific as commercially sensitive.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

They took a comprehensive approach to the project, taking time to understand the domain and the full scope of the project

Their project management was well balanced: never overdoing it but we also knew we where were in the project

They not only delivered designs, but clickable wireframes, sample imagery and copy and UX Testing with UK-based testers.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

Slight confusion over what final deliverable would be: HTML, CSS and JS, or just Figma Designs. Need make sure that is always clear (and repeated!)

Review Summary

We've been working with Northell on several Figma design tasks for an Android app over the course of about half a year. We've gotten great deliverables from them, and our product team are using them a lot. We worked with two designers, both competent, although the first one was particularly good, producing really impressive designs in a timely manner.
Besides the actual deliverables, my favorite thing about working with the Northell Team is that it's very easy to communicate with them. There is never confusion or need to repeat things over and over. Whenever a question or new requirement comes up, they're always ready and happy to help. Really a pleasant experience that I would definitely recommend to others.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

Some top notch designers who understand what the deep needs are and can deliver solutions for them.

Their communication skills are great, and their customer support is always polite.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

Not a big problem, but sometimes I felt like I wanted to hear ideas and feedback directly from the designers instead of the project managers.

The second designer we worked with did a good job but she took definitely more time than the first one.
