TechSpeed is a women-owned tech company based out of Portland, Oregon with multiple offices at home and abroad. We are Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) experts who combine the power of AI-driven tools and expert human outsourcing talent.
Founded in 2002, and headquartered in Portland, Oregon, with production offices in India, TechSpeed offers a unique hybrid customer support model that combines onshore US-based project management with offshore outsourcing talent so that clients can operate more efficiently, effectively, and affordably. TechSpeed offers free consultation, customized collaborative transition planning, industry expertise, and complete fee transparency to all our clients.
As Growth Officer, I’ve had the chance to lead TechSpeed into one of the most trusted and experienced brands in the data processing industry.
What inspired the founding of your company, and what is the story behind its inception?
The founders of the company were looking for data entry support for one of their other businesses and quickly realized that everything was overseas, this made it difficult to manage and engage when projects were complex.
When we founded TechSpeed in 2002, we set out to address what we saw as a glaring need in the outsourcing sector. While there were many companies providing outsourcing services, there were very few that integrated offshore resources with onshore project management and leadership. This proved a deterrent for many prospective outsourcing clients.
The complexities of dealing with time zone differences, language barriers, and security issues discouraged many companies from making the leap into partnerships with third-party service providers. These challenges remain just as relevant today as they were at the time of our founding. Over the last two decades, we’ve helped clients cut through these challenges with a strategic balance between local leadership and global talent procurement.
We’ve also backed this balance with cutting-edge technology. Our founders were among the first developers to implement integrated QA systems. Today, TechSpeed leverages these systems to process information with over 99.95% accuracy each and every time.
Our drive to develop proprietary tools continues today. In just the last few years, we’ve expanded our operations to offer the complete suite of outsourcing services from AI data entry and call center services to back office support and content moderation. We’ve also created, and continue to enhance, AI tools that take data management and data processing to new levels.
What are the core values and principles that drive your company's culture, and how do you ensure alignment with these values across your team?

We are constantly innovating new proprietary tools to improve efficiency and affordability for our clients. And most importantly, customer service is at the center of every decision we make.
These values also make it possible for us to build strong and lasting partnerships. Many of our clients have been with us since the very beginning, more than 20 years ago!
This is because we pride ourselves in helping clients mature and evolve. In a constantly changing economy and a rapidly advancing technological environment, we remain relevant and competitive because we strive at all times to stand on the cutting edge of the industry.
Can you highlight some of the key achievements or milestones your company has accomplished since its inception?
We are a women-owned and led technology firm. In an industry where less than 5% of VC funding goes to women founders each year, TechSpeed is an outspoken voice and a visible champion for women in tech.
We’ve also spent these last two decades building out industry-leading innovations. Highlights include the development of one of the industry’s first fully integrated data processing and cueing technologies; and development of Image Fracture Patent Pending technology that enables 100% storage and processing security of PII and sensitive data.
We are also proud to say that, due to the unique nature of our operation and our deep familiarity with advanced business process technologies, TechSpeed did not shut down operations for even a single day during the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, we were able to expand our operations to support a growing set of client needs.
We helped many of our clients meet increasing market pressures and operational challenges during an unprecedented time. In the years since, TechSpeed has expanded into multiple office both in the US and Overseas.
Could you explain your company's business model? Do you primarily operate with an in-house team or utilize third-party vendors/outsourcing?
100% of our data processing work is done in-house. We never outsource or subcontract these sensitive tasks. This distinction is important both for achieving the highest level of security and for ensuring the highest performance standards.
How does your company differentiate itself from competitors in the industry?
We stand apart in the outsourcing sector because of our hybrid model. We offer all the benefits of onshore outsourcing support and local project management with all the cost advantages and scalability of offshore work teams.
We also have the benefit of tenure. With more than 20 years of experience in a constantly evolving industry, we have always moved swiftly to learn, leverage, and enhance the most cutting-edge technologies.
And today, even two decades after our founding, we remain a rarity in the tech space—a women-owned and operated business. We will always use this position to champion the achievements and ambitions of other women in our industry.
How would you describe the dynamics within your team, and how do you foster collaboration and teamwork to achieve common goals?
We operate like a large family. This type of company culture results in excellent retention and a dynamic internal leadership structure.
The average tenure of our operators and technicians is 7+ years, and the average tenure of our leadership team is 15+ years. The result is an extremely collegial working atmosphere where collaboration is built on equal respect for each contributor’s unique skills and knowledge.
Not only does this dynamic make it possible for us to pool our talents toward common goals, but it makes TechSpeed an enjoyable place to work.
We have one of the lowest turnover rates in the industry. This means we have a rich knowledge economy, a wealth of experience, and a team of trained and tenured experts who enjoy a high-quality work-life balance.

What measures do you take to support the professional development and growth of your employees? Do you offer training programs or opportunities for skill enhancement?
Yes, yes and yes! We offer training opportunities at every level of the organization. In fact, we require every team member to spend at least 15% of their work time on continuing education and development. One of the reasons our team members are so loyal is because we have shown that we are fully invested in them and their growth within the organization.
Could you share a notable success story or case study that exemplifies the impact your company has had on a client's business?
We supported a large FinTech technology provider to create a market intelligence platform that delivers data-driven insights and analysis to businesses, investors, and professionals worldwide. TechSpeed mined and refined data to help build a comprehensive database on startups, venture capital groups, private equity firms, M&A, and emerging industries across the globe.
- The Case: Using large-scale algorithm-based scraping to collect massive amounts of data. The client needed human support to help process and maintain the accuracy of its extensive data and information on medium- and large-market companies across various domains.
- The Solution: TechSpeed trained a dedicated team of 25 highly specialized technicians to directly Review, Validate, and Enhance the client’s database profiles. Utilizing a cross-trained rotating team model, TechSpeed provided seamless 24/7 support, responding to surges in volume while simultaneously leading additional special projects for the client.
- Value Add:
- Assembled, trained, and deployed an outsourcing team in less than 7 days
- Produced comprehensive training manuals to ensure that all team members have a clear understanding of the company’s processes and procedures
- Implemented a Quality Assurance system to monitor accuracy and performance metrics and ensure that the highest standards are being met

We are a full-service outsourcing provider. We provide the people and technologies to help clients offload and outsource short-term projects, continuing workflow, or entire departments.

TechSpeed is privileged to have an incredible R&D department. Our developers have been turning out ingenious products and solutions for over 20 years.
At our core, we have an entrepreneurial mindset. The key to innovation is to always have a curious mind, to resist contentment with the status quo, and to inquire always about where we go next. This entrepreneurial mindset—a constant exploration of the possible—is at the very core of our development culture.

Please share some of the most sought-after services that clients approach your company for.
Clients are particularly invested in our full suite of Back Office Support Services. Most clients recognize the practical and economic advantages that come with relieving in-house teams of these administrative burdens.
We provide both technology solutions and human-in-the-loop support to help make any back-office workflow faster, more efficient, and more affordable. This gives our clients the freedom and flexibility to dedicate internal talent to core business operations and to invest precious resources into further growth.
We’ve also seen robust and growing interest in our AI-driven data mining services, including web-crawling, data augmentation, and especially AI-powered data extraction.
How do you build and maintain strong relationships with your clients, and what mechanisms do you have in place for gathering and acting upon client feedback?
Metrics really should be our middle name. We believe that the most valuable and insightful metrics are informed by human feedback. That’s why we survey everyone. We run annual client and employee surveys to gather insights on processes, outcomes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
We also preside over bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly review meetings with every client. We focus on staying in front of the metrics, putting ourselves and our clients in a position to act quickly when adjustments or improvements are needed.
This gives us a chance to provide ongoing support and routine project updates as well. We believe that strong client engagement is central to building positive long-term relationships and ensuring each project is a success.
How has your company adapted to changes and challenges in the business landscape, and what strategies have you employed to ensure resilience and sustainability?
As an innovator in the tech space, adaptability is one of our operating principles. We recognize that technology advances quickly, that many of our clients face pressure to keep pace with these advances, and that it’s up to our team of experienced leaders and technicians to embrace and even lead the changes we see in our industry.
20 years ago, that meant finding ways to help our clients navigate digital transformation. Today, rapid advances in AI, machine learning, and automation are providing a foundation for the next generation of innovations. As we did two decades ago, today we once again stand at the forefront of innovation with a growing and constantly improving set of AI-powered data solutions at our fingertips.

What payment structure do you typically follow when billing clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, or Pay per Milestone (phases, months, versions, etc.)?
We offer several payment options depending on the nature of the work and the scope of the project. We are flexible about customizing our pricing structure according to the unique needs of each client. Pricing options include:
- Hourly;
- Project-based; or
- According to a dedicated headcount.
Do you accept projects that meet your basic budget requirements? If yes, what is the minimum budget requirement? If no, what is the minimum budget you have worked with in the past?
We love working with clients of all sizes. We often find that large projects are born out of small ones. That is why we have a modest minimum project size requirement of only $2500. Our portfolio is packed with long-term clients who initially enlisted us to handle small projects.
Can you provide an overview of the price range (minimum and maximum) of the projects your company worked on in 2023?
We have worked with a wide variety of clients across industries large and small over the last two decades. This past year, our smallest project was $5000, and our largest project was over $1,000,000.
What technological capabilities does your company possess, and are there any ongoing or planned investments in technology infrastructure or tools to enhance your services?
As noted earlier, TechSpeed is among the first data processing firms to implement integrated QA systems, which accounts for our stellar rate of data accuracy. We’ve also developed and implemented a number of advanced AI tools to great success in recent years.
We’ve had particular success with our data mining services, including web crawling, data augmentation, and especially AI-powered data extraction. This growing spectrum of services is making it possible to expand our operational footprint, both onshore and offshore.
Where do you envision your company in the next 10 years? What are your long-term goals and aspirations for growth and development?
We envision remaining at the head of the class in terms of both innovation and customer service. We expect that the tech landscape will continue to shift in quantum leaps, and we’re here for it!
