Zoom

We use the internet all day at highspeedinternet.com and my entire team has been working from home since March so staying connected is crucial to keeping production running smoothly and ensuring that we’re publishing good work and giving each other necessary feedback on a regular basis. 

We were using Zoom before the pandemic hit, mostly to let people call-in to meetings if they were out of the office and couldn’t attend in person. But since March we’ve been using it even more and it’s become integral to our communications. We have a meeting every Monday morning where the whole team (10+ people including designers, SEO specialists, writers, researchers, and managers) gathers on Zoom to talk about what we’re doing this week and strategize for steps forward. We also regularly meet on Zoom to have 1:1 meetings and even to just hang out and check in with each other and keep our spirits up. 

It’s free, easy to use, and has a lot of features that make it useful for larger group meetings. I like that you can get so many people on a single call and that you can record each call for posterity and later reference. There’s some fun little things about it too, like how you can post emojis on your screen during meetings and change your background. I even put together a comprehensive Zoom guide for our site. 

The drawbacks are that Zoom has some security issues I’ve been reading about—though I haven’t experienced any issues myself. I wish there was a way to adjust lighting and contrast within the Zoom app because I find that I often have to move to a completely new location in my home office just to get a clear picture of myself with good lighting for meetings. I also am not the biggest fan of the virtual background setting. It’s fun but not really useful for me at the end of the day because you need a solid-colored background at home for it to actually work… otherwise the virtual background gets superimposed over your face or your shirt and blends together with everything else.

At HRonBoard, we use Zoom as we find this to be the most commonly used by our clients. We have found this to be very user-friendly for people who are not as tech savvy. One con would be the mobile app lacking.

Absolute Immigration has been using Zoom to conduct its meetings and conferences, as well as running webinars and virtual round tables. Pros include its ability to host our full team in one instance and its scheduling feature that ensures we are at the right place at the right time. Cons includes the occasional drop in connection and its lag, where people can accidentally interrupt and speak over each other.

I've worked in Technical Support since 2001. I would have to say that Zoom is the best video conferencing solution out there that I have used. It's really easy to use and it fit really well into our corporate environment. We are primarily a mac shop but also have a windows population and a tiny linux group as well and all are able to communicate well using the Zoom clients with the Zoom rooms. I also love the Zoom admin web console. I get to see which machines are out of date, which rooms are down or which rooms available/not available. I would highly recommend incorporating this software int your environment or at least giving it a try!

Zoom has always been able to connect the people I need to talk to, any where in the world. One webinar had a person in Azerbaijan running the PowerPoint slides and presenters in India, Australia, and Canada. It went very smoothly. I need more practice with the Breakout Rooms and Polling features. but they give us the flexibility we need to have great training events. The quality of the connections really matters, and Zoom delivers

Zoom has been a great video communication tool that is easy to use and quick to set up. It is been a critical tool is allowing people to have professional business meetings that they can learn to use in a matter of minutes.

Very minimal trouble shooting, works flawlessly evertime, and integrates with conference rooms easily as well

Zoom has been helping with managing great quality meetings for our team! We are able to meet customers and discuss details with them over zoom and manage recordings, screen share, video calls, and many more features.
Recently there are discussions and blogs about the security concerns with Zoom. If Zoom can get a clear path moving forward defining how it's securing the customer's data over calls, that will be great.

Zoom is by far the best videoconferencing platform our team has ever used. I've used Zoom at a couple of different companies now and they continue to improve the experience while keeping a simple and reliable platform.

Zoom is probably the best solution during this tricky time. I used Zoom for years before March 2020 and it replaced Google Hangouts and Skype for me. Since the increase in usage it has been a little more buggy but that is to be expected.

Zoom is the most flawless and most efficient video conferencing system that I have ever used. It is very user-friendly and a you don't have to download anything.

We use Zoom and resell zoom to our clients. We appreciate how friendly it is to use and get setup. We do not deal in extremely valuable IP and we value the quality and ease of use of Zoom

I've used almost every video conferencing software on the market (GoToMeeting, Join.me, BlueJeans, WebEx, UberConference, and more) in a corporate setting and Zoom is not only the easiest to work with from an admin perspective, but it has provided us with the best call and video quality across the board. They have been innovative and helpful along the way. It's a real pleasure working with Zoom.
