“Easy to use and can be used by virtual teams operating around the world”
As a CEO and Founder of Transformed Pty Ltd, I am sharing my experience of using Asana Software:
Pros:
- Its free up to 10 users
- can be used by virtual teams operating around the world
- easy to use
- better than using email and other approaches - updates and comments can be provided in Asana (via a web interface or via the Asana app on your phone), so your email box doesn't get cluttered up.
- for managers, you don't need to constantly ask for an update as to where things are at - you can just look at the various tasks and see for yourself.
Cons:
- Haven't really had any major issues with Asana,
- The only limitations I can see is that: it can't give you a staff/resource-centric view so you can see what each staff member is working on. The Gantt chart/schedule view doesn't calculate critical path, like a dedicated scheduling tool - this is really only something that high-end scheduling and professional services firms are likely to need/use
- The biggest challenge is to get everyone in the team to use Asana and regularly update status/progress.
